And yes, it was a big event, spanning 3 months, where many japanese players, such as Pepeday, Tokido, Mago, Sako, Momochi, Bonchan, Kazunoko, and man y others played in a round robin style format against eachother, where GD, total wins all matter. It was very much a big event.
TrueUnderDawgGaming The winner gets the equivalent of 8000 US dollars. That is more than most tournaments all year, save Dreamhack and Capcom Cup. Also, Capcom hosted its own Roud Robin format, so yeah, they do take it into consideration, The reason they don't sponsor it is because Topanga is an on going series, in whoch players are classed per year based on their performance from the last Topanga. Capcom will only accept open tournaments, where anyone can enter and win. Also, just because you dislike the format doesn't make it any less legitimate. Lots of people dislike the ft2 format Capcom Cup took, but we must accept it, and move on.

This just popped up as a recommended video to watch for me and I find it so weird watching Daigo this aggressive after watching him use Guile in Street Fighter 5.
I know Guile is generally a defensive character in sf5 but I find Daigo so boring to watch playing him. This was just beautiful to watch. I had Street Fighter 4 and played all the older ones but only as a casual player against friends on the sofa and never really understood why people disliked 5 so much until I started watching videos of professional players playing 4 and just seeing the difference in speed and the ability to link attacks etc. 5 is definitely more accessible to people just dipping their toes into the fighting genre but 4 just looks more rewarding for people that have already mastered their craft.
Throw damage in sf5 I find to be far too high, it should definitely be reduced, allows people to steal a victory far too easily in a 50/50 situation.
All that being said I still like Street Fighter 5 and am learning different characters and links in their attacks. I seem to be enjoying fighting games more and more as I learn how to play them to a higher standard and have just picked up guilty gear xrd 2nd rev which I'm hoping to use to improve my ability. I may just be a little old to have the reactions to beat the younger generation now though! ✊ 😂

He came out of retirement because of sf4 and proceeded to win 2 evos and at that point he really started to make money, I'm not saying he only plays because of money but at the start of sfv he wasn't showing much of interest
