Spooky, today must be international cloud painting day. On my way home this afternoon I spent an hour in a lay-by in North Wales painting the clouds of the sunset. So glad I always have a gouache set in the car.
@@christinakentart it was tricky, really tricky. Three small images, none good but each had a little something of value. A little patch of the right reddish pinky blue or a nice bit of cloud form. I see it as a cumulative activity, gradually the ratio of good/poor starts swinging into the positive. Patience & practice and some luck with the weather at this time of year. All the best 🎉🎉
@@dewindoethdwl2798 I like what you said about each painting having something of value, even if the painting overall wasn't a success. I've also found that there is usually something that went well in my bad paintings, and I can learn from that :) And yes, hopefully the ratio continues swinging positive!
@@christinakentart ah yes the very warm orange :) love the transitions you capture. For me in those more highlight parts of the clouds at that time, is usuallly to mix my cool red, magenta for me, and cool yellow, azo yellow, or could be Aliz crimzon and cadmium yellow light but those two and some white ive really come to enjoy :) looking forward to the next video :)
Beautiful work 👏🖼️👨🎨
So pretty. Stunning as always 🎉❤
Thanks Annek! :)
Magnifique 👩🎨
Thank you!
Really nice, convincing clouds.
Solid, yet ephemeral.
Not cut out of cardboard.
Thank you :)

Oh, I love that! I haven’t tried clouds at sunset from life, it seems so challenging! How did it go for you?

🇺🇸
what was the two colors you mixed for the lightest highlight area?
I think it was mostly cadmium yellow and cadmium scarlet, with maybe some Naples yellow and cadmium red as well :)
