- Finally got my Coastal Kit parts from Harley-Davidson! It only took 9 months for all the pieces to come together! The quarter fairing, seat, handle bars and risers are all installed now and it’s finally looking like the Harley I wanted! I couldn’t be more happy with the way it turned out. But, as they say, you’re never done customizing your bike, so there are more upgrades to come.

I bought my Fat-Bob new back in 2015 and got a better seat, saddle-bags plus a large windshield.
They made all the difference in the world to me.
The "quick-release" windshield is indispensable!

That seat should break in over time, but Saddleman step-up is the way to go. It is an awesome seat, take a little while to break-in, but once it does it's extremely comfortable. Nice bike, like the style.

Looks really nice! I absolutely agree that the fairing should match the color of the bike. Black would “work”, but being color-matched brings it to a whole other level. I’ve considered a fairing for my Monkey bike 😄 but I don’t think it’d go fast enough to matter. When riding my Suzuki on the interstate, however, the wind wants to try to push me off the bike.
Can’t wait to get my Harley. My wife and I decided *tonight* to go ahead and move forward on getting a new Road Glide Limited! Looking forward to using that cruise control. 👍🏻

Hi What risers and handlebar do you have? I have the same bike and same complaint on mini apes.
I like everything except the bars. I would rather have Z bars..... But everything else looks great. surely there is a way to tighten up the fairing?

So how is the harbor freight tent does it hold up in wind? Was thinking about pick one up as well
If you don’t have it anchored down it will blow away. Even then it whips around pretty bad and leaves and everything else blows into it. Better to put the money toward a real shed.
Any issues with the 1/4 fairing? Lots of people have complained about the fairing being super loose and potentially falling off.
Edit: ok. You talked about little about the loose faring. Love to hear an update as you get more time behind that fairing.
The quarter fairing was a nightmare for me . Bottom tabs broke off bc of highway vibration. Hd Finally gave up and gave me my money back for fairing lost money on bracket for fairing.
My fairing took 1 year to come in

Shorter cables. Came with the kit.

I have the same bike I was thinking of getting the quater fairing in the river rock color. Did u have to use the fairing with T-Bars or can u use the stock mini ape bars? Do u know if you can use the mini ape stock bars with the fairing.
I think you can. I have seen a few guys on the FB page with that setup.

I am purchasing a 21 Softail standard to replace my good old 1200 Nightster, and my bike will have a custom paint, (Olive Gold), with this same quarter fairing matching color, as you did with yours.
But i have a problem an maybe you could give me solution.
This quarter fairing is no longer avalable in France, i purchase it in Germany, and i don’t find a clear answer about the right reference of Bracket kit that fit with 18 plus FXBB and FXST...

Where can find the turn signal relocation kit?
It came with the Coastal Kit. Not sure if they have their own part number.
I would relocate the turn signals to the forks. I don't like the look of handlebar-mounted turn signals.

Is the coastal kit available in Canada?
It’s probably not listed as a part number group any longer, and far as I can tell, I’m one of very few people who bought it. Shortly after I had mine installed the guys at the dealership couldn’t find it listed on Harleys website.
Did you install the cruise control yourself?
No sir. Had it installed on my first service at the dealer.

I believe the switch is $200. Labor will depend on how much your dealer charges. My local shop is $85 an hour.
It shocks me that cruise control is not more prevalent.

I don’t like the seat it doesn’t match the shape of the bike at all. Looks like you bought a seat for another bike and made it fit this bike. But the fairing looks great

Doesn’t matter at this point. Harley discontinued these parts shortly after they released them… Dumb move on their part.
Take that seat off, fix the paint/clear coat then put the 3M clear protection film on the tank and fender.
Looks great, but the quarter fairing mounting style is just awful. I have talked to quite a few people at the dealers who have had them literally fly off while riding. And that's from the mechanics and employees.
I’ve read similar stories. Crossing my fingers it doesn’t happen to mine...😅

Should sell a bigger gastank instead. Love the styling. But the range is a dealbreaker for me
