I've done this trek and it is indeed stunning. It's one of those things I reluctantly cecommend because it's essential that it not cecome too well known.
I understand your point but it can definitely benefit from some promotion in comparison to other treks in Peru (for example Inca Trail). Especially for locals working in this region of Peru.
@@SightseeingStan Yes, I did the Inca trail decades ago, soon after that I thought they cut the number of passes way down. I get there's real poverty in Peru, your point is well taken.
I did the full 13 day version of this in July 2019 and the weather was very predictable. It clouded over in the mid afternoon with occasional showers but always cleared up by 6 PM and was aways starry night (amazing stars!) and blue skies in the morning. I think the time of year you go there is vital.
Thank you for sharing these fantastic views of the landscape. Must be quite impressive to see it with your own eyes and experience all this beauty while enduring such a demanding adventure. Congrats and hope to get to see it one day!
Wonderful video. Magnificent photography so thank you for posting. Just a quick note. Highest point in Europe is Elbrus at 5642m, not Mont Blanc. Many think Blanc is the highest but it's the highest in western Europe.
Great video, thanks for posting it! Just two things: I feel that the Blanca next door is kind of prettier. Lot less remote, though. The other one, Mont Blanc is not the highest peak in Europe, only in Western Europe.
Amazing content, Stan! I'm a fellow photographer and explorer like you and probably I will go to Huayhuash in May 2022. Could you share the link of the company/guides? Thanks! See you in the next ones!
Thanks Luiz! Our guide was Darwin, he recently started his own business in Huaraz and I can 100% recommend him: www.trapecioadventure.com Enjoy your trip!
Nice images! Just two tips for your next videos. The term COCHA means lake, so Lake Jahuarcocha is not correct (only Jahuarcocha). The second: Only in USA you called it SOCCER, here and in the rest of the world is FOOTBALL my friend 😁 I'm happy that you enjoy the trip!
These views are incredible! I would love to hear more about the gear that you use on a trip like this! I'm hoping to bring my down jacket along on a backpacking adventure across south america but am tentative to hike with it in such a diverse climate - did you experience any issues or regrets getting it wet on your trek?
Hey mate, great video. I plan on going to Huayhuash this September and am looking for a guide. I can see you have linked one in the comments that you used for this trip. Just wanted to ask if you had any issues at all with this tour guide? Or was it all smooth on their end?
wow..amazing photos and video....I'm 62 headed to "walk" though south america, very tasteful, well documented and inspiring...kudos
Glad you enjoyed it!

I never hiked with my down jacket, it was too warm. I had one for the evenings at camp. I suggest bringing a good rain jacket or poncho while hiking.
What month did you do this trek?

Yes can 100% recommend Darwin. We had no issues with him at all, excellent guide and wonderful guy! 👍 Enjoy!
Great video! What months are considered the best to go there weather wise?
Thanks! The best months are May through September
Dude I been there awesome video you Rock 🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️
Thank you! Such an insane hike!!
Hi, can you tell me what was approx. the lowest night temperature on your hike? :) We are planning to do this one in first two weeks of May.
I think the lowest temperature at night was just below 0°C on a few nights. I'm not sure how the temperatures are in May...
Hello, how did you charged all your devices??
I had a power bank with me and extra batteries
I thought October would have better weather.
October is the start of rainy season so it's not bad but not the best :)
it´s crazy how you can be at 5000 mts and stil no snow
