Real milk, real cream (ice cream - make a video of creating ice cream), real butter, real cheese - total superfoods - I want to do something similar to your homesteading efforts and it's wonderful to see that you are doing it!!! Thanks for sharing. The solar video you did was very helpful too.
Wow - thank you! I don't have a homestead, in fact ; I'm a single person who buys raw milk from a local farm. I'd like to make butter. It doesn't seem like there is much cream on the top when I just let it sit. Would this contraption be worth it for someone like me (i.e buying 1/2 to 1 gallon at a time? Is there a mini - separator that you or anyone knows of? Sorry, may be a stupid question!
Hello - I don't know if you'll see this - guessing they haven't. I would say no, there are cheaper ways of doing it unless you're buying loads and loads! I would say there's other options - one of which is that you buy a normal water drinking stand that has a tap in it - that way, the tap lets out the milk and allows the cream to take forever to come down - it's not as efficient - but it's a hell of a lot cheaper! :) Kilner and others do them for maybe $25 - but you can likely get them cheaper still around and about. There's maybe about 5cm per litre depending on the breed of cow, time of year and feed that it's being given - or whatever you call that in old measurements - so you're not going to get huge amounts and you are going to lose the cream in the milk - so that one you'll have to figure out if it's worth it for you or not .... Or you could ask the people where you buy from if they do cream as well - some places do. Hope that helps you decide.
I bought their cheapest small fume filter and let me tell you their support IS DISGUSTINGGGGG. I was missing two extra filters which were supposed to be included in the package and immediately informed them of this. 2 days later they asked me to send a photo of the catalog parts that were missing. OK a bitr weird but I did that. 2 days later they asked me to supply a VIDEO of the parts that I got from them !! REALLY ????? This is typical Chinese N O SUPPORT CRAP that i absolutely hate & despise as they will just delay delay delay . Think of this company this way--First they INTENTIONALLY MISLEAD you into thinking they are American but if that is true why are all their responses in brutally bad broken english ?? Secondly if they are giving me the runaround for such a cheap item (2 tiny air filters) then do you really trust or believe that they have even the slightest bit of support if anything goes wrong with their more expensive offerings ???? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT and am going to simply try and return the filter and give my money to other more deserving companies that actually care about after sales service not pieces of garbage like this company ARE
