I've decided that the only Venom material I really need is probably in the Spider-Man vs. Venom Omnibus. This one still looks cool, but then I'd eventually have to buy all of the other volumes too, lol.

I really want to get this but I told myself I am going to focus on my favorite X-men stuff first and then spider-man and Wolverine next. With a family of 6 I just can’t afford to get everything.
Honestly Im skipping xmen and just getting wolverine, because I also can't afford both. And I find I get a lot of the xmen stuff within wolverine anyway.
Nostalgia hits! This was my first ever Omnibus and I wouldn't trade that Bagley goodness on the cover for anything (maybe except a Venom by McFarlane cover). Great to give folks a chance to get this one. I'm currently waiting for SM by Roger Stern to arrive and I can't wait. Thanks Omar!
Lethal Protector made me fall in love w Venom. Read issue #1 over and over. It was beat to hell

I missed out on Vol 1 the first time around, so I pre-ordered this version with the Andrew Wildman cover. I tend to think back to his work on the early X-Men Adventures issues, which was my first X-Men comic series.
Love the villain turned anti-hero aspect of Venom. I don’t necessarily love him as a character, but he’s so just much better than Carnage. 😉 The complexity of Venom is what sells me. Already have the original printing of this, but I’m so glad people are loving the new cover. Great vid as always, Omar! :) Algorithm gang!

Is there a reason for why the Alien Costume Saga has not been collected into an omnibus? Might be a thinner one, almost in between a regular omnibus and a thick OHC but would be nice to have that material in OS artwork to complete the set, kicking it off to cotinue with Spider-Man vs Venom then the Venomnibus volumes. In you opinion, is there a reasoning behind this? I know some stories get the OHC treatmeant like Kraven's Last Hunt as I wish more of these comics that are better read in a single volume would get published into OHCs/omnibi
A lot of people said the stories werent all that great which is why I passed on this however may get it now ha!

While I'm still getting the dm cover, I wish they had left the background white like it is on the original Carnage Unleashed issue 3 cover.
Usually I would agree with you like in the case of the Peter David hulk vol 1 which should have kept the purple background, but in this case I like the change to a blue background.
@@michaelmyers4943 Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad, it's just the characters stand out more on the white background to me.
I've been debating on getting Venomnibus vol 2 off Amazon since its the only place I've found it. But I've only bought 2 omnibus off Amazon and have had really good luck with their handling of my books but have heard horror stories on what the norm is for them and omnibus. But Venomibus vol 2 takes me through my entire 90s when I was just a teenager and really want everything from the 90s lol. I may just have to take a chance on Amazon.
Gutter loss in the new printing seems a lot more extreme to my uneducated eye. Definitely not "quite the same" as you said at around minute 12, but, well, YMMV.
That might have been the angle. Not sure. But from me looking at it. Looked the same. Now, the second issue spread. The original is so much better.
@@NearMintCondition Quite a few folks say the new printers in Turkey that Marvel started employing last year are universally producing horrible bindings and paper quality. I don't know if this one comes from the Ottoman Empire as well.
After watching the trailer for the upcoming Venom movie, the DM variant is calling me. Plus, as a 90's Spider-Man fan, I've never read any of this... and chronological order is tempting. As an aside, a Romnibus (or two) would enable Marvel to again publish material of some of their IP they otherwise couldn't. Could have appeal to non-Rom fans too...

Good luck. Marvel boxsets are never reprinted, as far as I know. The dimensions are 18.45 x 12.8 x 18.65 inches (according to Amazon.)
Actually the Super Nintendo game, “Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety” storyline was based on “Venom: Lethal Protector”,
I never did play that one, just Maximum Carnage.

The spine on mine refuses to form the "eye" after relaxing and has creased.
Have you read it? They usually relax a lot after one reading. One thing I have done with decent results is to just flip through every page of the book to relax it, but I try to do it while watvhing TV to avoid looking at the pages if I haven't read the story.
@@marcelo-ramos Sort of. The sewn binding has bent upwards like it should and is separated from the spine. But when the book is open, the spine, even though separate from the binding, refuses to stay down. It stays up and hugs the binding causing the creasing. I've had to stick a ruler in there to keep the spine down and away from the binding while reading the book.

Usually I go DM (or whichever is the classic cover). The solicitation art had the original cover, which made it an easy choice for me... but watching your video and seeing the updated art I’m torn. I both really like it and am a little disappointed with the updated colors. I’m almost leaning towards the standard cover now, even though I love carnage as a character!

This is when they ruined Venom by trying to make him an Anti-hero rather than just a great villain. Pre lethal protector Venom was awesome. Then they just ruined him.
Side note, I really want a Darkhawk omnibus. Shame it'll never happen.
