      Yo, you love the speedy, don't `cha. Omega doesn't troll their customers either.
      231.10.44.52.04.001 FTW
      Edit: It is a truly gorgeous watch,that's why it's an icon. The full size is for me but anyone who owns one of these has impeccable taste and has my respect FWIW LOL.

    Nice, thank you for this video. In motion (meaning, seeing the watch being moved, rotated, held in hand vs. still photos) the Reduced looks actually nicely proportional. And yeah, it looks smaller than I expected - but all the elements on it kinda really work with each other, there's nothing egregiously off.

    Hi Guy. Very nice and thorough review as always. I own both watches since I like the speedmaster line a lot and consider they´re sufficiently apart to justify owning both. The auto was given to me by my father and the PRO I was able to buy years later. Just a little insight on my ownership experience you (or somebody) might find useful. It´s not that the auto is more expensive to service but I can assure you it´s way more delicate so you would have to get it serviced or repaired more often. This contrasts a lot with the profesional more robust lemania based movement. I had a couple of issues with the auto that I never experienced with the pro, like for instance hands going out of alignment propably due to shocks or fast gestures (playing sports) and so on and even due to normal long term operation. This is probably why the reduced was not certified for space flight I probably It couldn´t have been. On the positive side, I feel that the automatic is a way more dressier watch despite the fact it has a busier dial. I find myself putting on the auto/reduced on more dressed up ocations and because of the more compact size and the jubilee-style bracelet it complements a suit or black tie way better that the PRO. The auto just looks amazing with a tie and the pro is just too big, even though it sits well on my wrist. I just feel a can´t get rid of any of them and decided to keep them both. Probably this is has to do with the order I got them too. The pro may be the real deal but the auto appeals more to the heart with its little quirks and accesible price for what it is.

    I'm a proud owner of both watches. I purchased the Reduced first but ended up buying Speedy Pro about 6 months later. I like them both. One useless information, on Speedy Pro the inside and outside of the bracelet is exactly the same. I think that's why it's very comfortable to wear.

    There is a third option. I recently bought a Speedmaster FOIS 39.7mm and bought the 19mm bracelet separately (recommended by Omega) - great combo. Wish they sold it on bracelet but still works out slightly less than a 42mm.

    Thank you so much for doing this review. I don't like heavy watches and my wrist is a big round for some reason so a smaller watch fits better. The Moonwatch is to big and heavy for me. I was thinking of the reduced. Being an older watch, I saw some service costs on this model. Probably nearly the cost of the watch. About 1100 from Omega to do an overhaul. OUCH. Not sure what I am going to do. I also like 20mm or 22mm size bracelets as it makes it more comfortable.

    Great review!
    I actually love the Speedy Reduced size on my 18 cm (7 inch) wrist.
    The clasp feels cheap, the bracelet is adequate.
    The dial, sub dial positions, pushers are great. I don't think its better or worse, but rather different to the Speedy Pro. One thing that lots of reviews don't mention is the fact that the cheaper Reduced movement actually has hacking, whereas the Professional does not, which is honestly quite a let down, for a "professional chronograph". The same can be said for the bracelet micro adjustments. Its disappointing to see the Professional with only two micro adjustments.

  • @AkuNoHana
    @AkuNoHana 4 роки тому +1

    The dubois depraz module has more parts and jewels than integrated chronograph movements like valjoux 7750 but from servicing stand point neither of the two are complex or difficult to service for an experienced and well trained watch maker. I've serviced both the moon watch and reduced through Omega and was charged the same amount ~$650 I believe.

    Hi! thx for this review , I have a "reduced" and I must say, having a smaller wrist it actually fits perfectly....Besides, it really measures 37,5/38 not exactly 39. The movement unfortunately is not quite in the cosc limits...But on the whole it is a nice watch, nicer bracelet...Does a datejust 36mm wear bigger? I don't think so...(maybe due to the 20mm lug width) regards!

    Nice video. I have a Reduced. 3 years and I love it. I have to say the bracelet feels really fragile and bad quality. Changed it for a nice strap and the reduced look gorgeous. Anyway Speedy look great with a leather or Nato strap. The Professional is way too big for me but I would advice anyone interested to try them both in the metal and decide which one suits you better. Thanks again for the vid.

    I’ve been looking for someone to do this moonwatch v reduced comparison for a while. And who better, you nailed it. One of the biggest appeals for me for the moonwatch is that it’s an absolute strapmonster. At 18mm lug width I’d expect ‘reduced’ options with the reduced.

    • @pas0003
      @pas0003 7 місяців тому

      You'd be surprised how many options there are for 18 mm. It's really a non issue. Issues come up for awkward sizes like 17 mm or 19 mm or 21 mm

  • @philipsdefreville6138

    Thanks Guy, another amazing review. Regarding your negative experience winding your moonwatch. Have you tried winding with just your index finger at the bottom of the crown, rather than using your thumb and index finger. Just use you index finger and push the crown up to wind with pressure on the crown guards. Not sure if that makes sense.

    • @JustBlueFish
      @JustBlueFish  5 років тому

      Yeah I’ve tried a few techniques, none I’d consider much better than the next. It’s just mildly annoying to have to wind the Speedmaster Pro the way the crown sits so recessed into the case.

    Thanks for the detailed review. You didn’t even mention what many, including myself, to be the biggest flaw in the Reduced. This is the non-alignment of the pushers with the crown, which is a result of the modular movement. Just looks like something is terribly wrong to me.

    I’m glad there’s an option for people with smaller wrists who like the aesthetic of the Pro, but there’s only one Moonwatch: The Pro with hesalite crystal and closed back. The purist in me wishes Omega would take the reintroduced 321 movement they put in the 50th anniversary edition and put it in the Pro. That would be a true Moonwatch. And reproduce the original caseback too while I’m dreaming. Omega would probably call it The Vintage Edition and charge a trillion dollars tho. :/ And it would be available in ten sizes and thirty one color options too, of course.

    • @JustBlueFish
      @JustBlueFish  5 років тому +1

      If they did that it would be an expensive limited edition watch that none of us mere mortals would have an opportunity to get our hands on. But it would be cool.

    • @jeffhudgins312

      Speedy Pro is actually kinda weirdly closely clustered.
      If you look at an old Rolex Daytona panda the subdials are spaced more apart .
      Personal preference and all as to what one wants, but guessing many are looking to scratch a Newman Daytona itch they could never otherwise afford - the reduced’s layout is truer to that design.
      And the unaligned pushers don’t bother me at all. I have a beautiful classic Navitimer with the same set up.
