Should have plumbed the fuel into the fuel supply fitting rather than the breathers, that way the needle and seat will be able to properly regulate the fuel level in the carb. Doing it your way would make it run rich and/or flood. Also have to be careful running the engine with no coolant and gearbox with no oil for lengthy amounts of time
Thanks for making sure :) I didn't run the engine for long at all, only to check that it worked! Yeah I'm pretty new to carbys so I just hooked it up so that it would go directly into the bowl xD
That value cover is amazing. Loved the build so far. Though I do have a question how did you manage to do all that work in an apartment with out getting any complaints? But mad respect for your hard work ✌🏻
same engine i have in my komatsu forklift.. Lol fb15, was made in the time area when toyota bought datsun, same goes for the toyota fb15.. its the same forklift. happy with it.. timing chain no belt.. easy repairs and lots of parts..
Great carb that Hitachi. Note that a flat spot can occir when the accelerator pump jet is not aligned. It also helps with idle. The long brass exposed screw next to the plunger. Sometimes turninh it to tight misaligns it. The spting for the plunhet lerps it put so try moving it ftom full tight a tad at a time till you get the highest idle then adjust ait and throttle.
Cool thanks for the info! I'll definitely keep that in mind, I'll have to do some tweaking still to get it running decent so I'll be going over the jets again later on when I have more things hooked up!
I missed seeing how you got it up to your balcony, but I'll be watching to see how you get it down👍 great job ! Looking forward to the rest of the build
I used to have a 77 b210. Flooded so many times before i read the car manual and diacovered it had a manual choke lol... never had a cold start issue after that.
HAHA! That's a great episode man, from the content to the editing, it's real entertaining even for someone with my level of knowledge :) carburettor cleaning and reassembly looks daunting, but damn boy your methodology is faultless 👏
Hi mate! Im using NGK spark plugs - I think the iridium ones. The headlights are from ebay and come with two style of plugs to adapt to an existing harness. I'm gonna be re-doing all the wiring anyways so they're just sitting in place for now :)
Wow amazing.. i was worried about water pump theres no water in. Greetings from Chile. I started since i was a child with mi pa' with his datsun pulsar a12 '78 at 90's
Thank you! Yeah, I feel like I've got to get some coolant in there soon so it doesn't rust too bad. I'm probably going to put inline filter or something to catch all the chunks of debris.
Good build. just one thing ( one moment the dizzy was out the next it was back in?) how would one know when to drop it in in your build because you didn't show that.
Just discovered you, you are so amazing that your earned a sub. I own a Datsun 120Y(B210) with exact same engine and carburetor. Do you have a service manual for your car?
You made me want to start a project with my datsun 720 j16 that has to power up 15 years what do you recommend me to avoid and what to be carefull with?
I reckon just make sure all the fluids a fresh, nothings gotten in the intake. Some wiring got old when I first tried starting this one up for the first time and ended up frying the alternator :(
Hi there, the engine oil can depend on the condition of your motor and climate. I went for 10w40 as a baseline and I will tweak it down the road after seeing how it performs.
Great job my friend!!! Greetings from Greece, i have an answer for kn oil filter, which is the internal diameter, i Want to put in my a12 engine, i have the same truck the long body with square headlights
Theres a few different variants of carberator I've seen on these. I couldn't find the exact one as mine. Try the datsun1200 wiki, or some japanese parts catalogues! Pics next time!!! haha
@@32Builds right on man! I actually have 3 of them. Companies send me free printers for review on some of my other UA-cam channels. Hey man, loving the build. I'm in the US and I just had a 1990 Nissan Sunny imported from Japan. I'm having some fuel issues at the moment and I think its the fuel pump. Did you rebuild or replace your fuel pump?
For the time being I'm still using the same one the motor came with I wasn't having any problems with it when it was driving but I won't know until I try and dial in the carby. Mine doesn't have any screws or bolts on it so I don't know how to open it without prying it open 😂 Are you getting fuel into your carby bowl? It could be your jets as well?
@@32Builds Haha mine doesn't have an screws or bolts either and I can't find a replacement. I am planning on installing an electric fuel pump today. I'm not getting fuel to the carb or even to the fuel filter. I changed out the filter which was all gunked up and the new one is still dry.
As a long time Datsun builder. 2 things that will help it. 1, run the fuel line into float bowl through the fuel inlet on the carb not the bowl vents that way the fuel level os correct in the float bowl and won’t flood it with gas. 2 sounds like the distributor timing out retarded. It needs to be turned a few degrees in opposite direction the rotor turns. It should run much better that way.
Hi bro, I'm trying lot to start the engine, but I unable to keep idel the engine after the full cleaning of carb..... From 4 years I'm trying this. Pls help me.....😭
its a joy seeing some giving the a12 some love, well done.
It was a joy working on her ^^

Your work is full clean, perfect, & Genuine.! Because of I like you.!
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome work Mike. Stoked she started for you!
Cheers! Just got to get the fuel plumbed up when shes in, and then tweak the carby!
Awesome work , can’t wait to see the body come together
Cheers :D
Respect for all the work you put in. Really clean build I like the entire engine especially the color of your valve cover! Subscribed.
Thank you 😊 that colours a bit off from standard but I'm really happy with it!

When you installed the carb into the inlet manifold, did you use any gaskets, sealants or just that plastic gasket?
Awesome series for when I do my 1200 cheers man
Good luck!!
That is an Austin-licensed engine design which Nissan made some changes to.
Ooh awesome to know! Any idea what other cars these have been in??
Awesome works mate, inspiring me to crack on with my dato b120.

What type of manifold is that? I have a b210 with a14 engine 1.4L and I plan to upgrading the manifold and installing a Weber carburetor.:D
The intake manifold is standard and the extractors are definitely aftermarket. They came with the car tho so I'm not sure :/
Very informative💯💯💯
Thank you :)

Do you have the part number for the new valve cover bolt ? Your video made me want to tackle my 510 Wagon sitting out

Pls tell me what is the correct engine oil for A 14 engine.( grade ) - nissan b 310. Thanks .💕💕💕💕💕💕
Hi there, the engine oil can depend on the condition of your motor and climate. I went for 10w40 as a baseline and I will tweak it down the road after seeing how it performs.
I want to ask. The top timing setting is top timing. 4 or top timing 1. Because I have a Datsun 120y I'm confused about the top timing.
The TDC mark is for the first piston I think (front)
@@32Builds It means that the top timing is using the first top timing
@@32Builds I beg you to give a tutorial on how to set top timing, my friend. Because I'm still new to learning cars

Thank you :) I'm not sure about your question but the seal diameter is 63mm with the oil filter 82mm.

Hey mate greetings from Bolivia 🇧🇴 I want to make you 2 questions. What oil are you using and what type of sparkplugs!? Thank you!!!
Hi there! I'm using Castrol Magnatec 10w40 for the oil, and NGK iridium sparkplugs :)
32Builds hello could you help me tell me how you connect the ignition cables I have an equal engine
lit
Cheers!
What oil are u using?
Dude tha blue is beautiful, what the name of that blue ?
What kind of spark plugs did you use? Could you pass me the model, please?
I think I got NGK iridium ones - NGK SPO6410313
Where did you buy the exhaust manifold/?
Unfortunately I'm not sure, this manifold came with the car when I bought it.
Ace gaskets.. Brill engines these..
I tried to keep my original carbs but found that Weber are far more simple to work on
I hope so! I plan to change it up sometime in the future, but I'll see how the stock hitatchi goes for the time being :)
@@32Builds the vids that you post not only are they awesome but also motivates other Datsun enthusiasts like myself. Keep up the work!
Which thickness gasket paper did you use?
I didn't realise there were different thicknesses! Must've been 0.8mm?
What type of paper is that you used for the gasket?
Is the oil synthetic or?
Where you’re getting engine parts?
I usually get the engine parts from aussie auto parts stores near me :)
Can u please tell me what amp wiring you use and gauge to mm?
Hi, for which wire?
@@32Builds the 18gauge wire? Whats that in mm and how much amp is the wiring you're using for the 18 gauge is it 10,15 amp or more, please and thanks

oh like that one too

you should hashtag all these videos for #MySummerCarFans

I haven't looked into how I should yet though
Without an overflow protection valve on the reservoir, the engine never starts because the overflow interferes with the fuel ratio
Is that something that should've came with the carby?
