hi! I always watch BTS-related videos on your UA-cam channel.Thank you for the best reaction.Have you seen Suga and Jimin's recent performances? ↓ ua-cam.com/video/0qTRlfWGfq8/v-deo.htmlsi=8OF3ipnEWPcumzK- They sang Tony Montana together😭
So I don't know if you know this, but I will explain it anyway just in case. (I will be calling Suga by Suga and Agust D in this comment) The Haegum MV came before the Amygdala MV, and after the Daechwita MV which was released in his last project. They are a trilogy. But Amygdala is essentially the "prequel" and origin to that side of Agust D with the scar. In the Amygdala MV there are scenes of Suga's younger trainee self on a motorcycle. This is in reference to him being a delivery person and getting into a crash that caused his shoulder injury when he was a trainee. This is his "accident that he could not mention." He also touches on topics of his parents and some of the mental struggles he went through in his early trainee days. He has even said that at that time he had contemplated ending it... But he thankfully got out of that dark place and is now in the best mental state he has ever been in. The Amygdala is the part of the brain that is responsible for processing emotions like fear, and anger. It controls how we respond to stressful/scary situations. In the MV, he is trapped in a part of his head, and he wishes his Amygdala would save him from remembering and reliving his pain. At the endof the MV, I believe the younger Suga is representing his Amygdala trying to save him/the other version of himself, Agust D. Or it could just be him trying to save himself, but not being able to. Side note: The Amygdala part of the brain is almond shaped, and that is why we can see Suga eating almonds throughout the MV. Now onto what Haegum means. Haegum is a traditional Korean instrument, but it has a double meaning. Suga has explained that Haegum also means to allow/unlock something that was forbidden. Also, at the end of the MV, Agust D is hanging out of a cop car window. Many people have made connections to the Daechwita MV where he hangs out of the car window, and also the Heath Ledger Joker scene. That theory would also tie into the other aspects of the MV where Agust D is acting crazy/like a mainic and saying we are all slaves to capitalism and money. He even burns the money just like the Joker did in The Dark Knight! But that is all just fan speculation. Anyway, I hope that helped you better understand these two songs and MVs!
Suga said to watch Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala all in one sitting as they told a cohesive story. I think you should watch Haegeum first before Amygdala becuz the story comes after Daechwita. Amygdala MV is about his reflection on traumatic memories of his past and how Yoongi developed his alter ego "AGUSTD" when he created that scar on his eye. In the beginning, his mom got heart surgery right after he was born, and then goes on to how he got into a car accident when doing delivery, while he is still a trainee at BIGHIT and still going to school. He also suffers from OCD, depression, and anxiety during that time and have to take antidepressants and painkillers, then while on schedule Yoongi found out his father has liver cancer. The young Yoongi on the motorcycle was trying to save AGUSTD, who was trapped inside that dark room, but as we can see Yoongi couldn't save him..
Haegeum (해금) is a Korean traditional instrument, which is what Yoongi (Suga) uses in this track. But Haegeum can also mean "lifting a ban" or, essentially, in this sense, allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden. In Yoongi's words, it's a "freedom from the forbidden". Him smoking in the MV might not come as a surprise for you, but it is still considered somewhat a taboo in South Korea, especially in K-pop. And of course, this is just one little thing of the many that Yoongi is trying to advocate :)
If you don't know the meaning of a word... BE CURIOUS. Do a tiny bit of research if you don't know the meaning of the TITLE of the song. I know a lot of reactors lean on Army to explain some of the context but definitions of words are a Google search away.

G'day Cody. Once again a great reaction from you. I have to agree with you about Amygdala this is my favourite track on the album. The lyrics and the video are both so powerful. Suga is such an amazing artist. The video of Haegum is like a movie, another great track.
********You aren't gong to React to SUGA/AGUS D's T 3 Sold-Out Shows in NY & Newark?? Special effects, Jimin was there, He did TWENTY THREE Songs! Played piano & Guitar, which he's Only Played for 2 years! You should have seen "Haegeum" &" Daechwita" back to back" Lots of lARMY made clips that you can see.
Suga explained during being interviewed by RM that the amygdala is a almond-shaped which stores any type of suffering and trauma a person been going through. Therefore this waiting room in the video is this part of Suga’s brain. That’s my take on it, @codymcmanus
These are part of a trilogy and you watched them in the wrong order. Daewitcha , Haegeum and amygdala. Watch Suwitcha or Rwitcha with Rm interviewing Suga and he talks about them together.
This is suga real life story you know suga had a real life shoulder injury........ And this a true story....sorry I don't understand that you don't understand what this song is really about 😢I feel really disappointed that you didn't get the real message

Also, in the behind the scenes of the MV shooting for Haegeum, Yoongi said they were filming it in Thailand.💜
