- The backer beta for Fraymakers has released! A lot of people have been asking for the moveset showcase videos to return, so I figured I'd make one showing off Orcane's moves in Fraymakers, and how they differ from Rivals!

The animation in this game is so beautiful, they somehow made Orcane even more adorable. His animations are so expressive, so full of life, and so fluid (pun intended XD). I can't wait to see how other characters will look in this game.

Just want to apologize if things are a bit scattered on this one, Wanted to try to get it out as quickly as possible, and the game doesn't have a very comprehensive training mode yet. Let me know if you want to see the other characters in this format!
I would love videos just like this one prompts to you it's great and also if the assists are in the beta I would love to see that as well(Mostly so I can my precious Niko from Oneshot in action)

I was planning on doing a tier list of all the assists at some point though! there's some really funny ones.

WOAH, I had no idea orcanes throws were empowered by puddle, that's awesome
Yeah, i'm really glad they went the extra mile to add some new puddle interactions! It's a bit hard to get an empowered grab in matches from what i've seen, but it is just a little something extra to make his options after a knockdown even scarier.
I really adore how faithful they stayed to Rivals Orcane, and I love the liberties they took with new attack, especially two of the throws being amplified by puddles! It makes me wonder if the latter of which will be a thing in Rivals 2.
Dang the animation quality is so good, its gonna be borderline impossible for modders to release stuff at this level of quality. Atleast in Rivals, the base cast was a decent enough bar to aim for, but this is way higher quality sprite work.
I imagine we'll get more sprite rips...
I love the fact that you can play the characters before the animations are finished as evidenced by Orcane’s unique attacks that Rivals never had.

@@eyeccantseeyouu Yeah, but if you’ve ever heard of Skullgirls, you’ll know that when new characters are coming, the devs let you play the characters before the animations are finished. I haven't played it myself, but I heard that it was a thing.

I did see that! I'm waiting for more stuff to come out, but glad to see modding slowly but surely getting there!
So nice to see a platform fighter that acknowledges 0-deaths!
And also one that puts a ton of effort into the animations and movesets
I imagine his throws here might migrate to Rivals 2 when he eventually gets shown off in motion.
Love the editing, hope you do this with the other 3 characters in tester and possibly the assists.
I definitely plan on covering the other 3 like this! The assists i probably will cover, albiet in a different format.

Just noticed that the animation is different for when Orcane charges a Strong attack on top of a puddle. Hope that’s later added to Fraymakers…
what music was used in this video? The first one is some orcane stage remix but I don't know the second one. It sounds familiar.

I always love how more expressive he is. Imagine if Kragg(which I can make it happen) was here instead of Orcane. How much he would flex and show how he is the best rivals character
The only thing I am worried about with orcane is that rivals is very much a if everyone is op no one is op sort of game, so if they use different balancing here, either orcan will be incredibly overpower or will have to nerfed a lot
Puddle forward throw looks kinda overtuned imo
Aside from that I don't really have any issues(ignoring some moves being unfinished)
In all fairness, landing a grab while standing on your own puddle will probably be super difficult

It's not that bad currently I feel, it's definitely pretty strong, but because the game doesn't have proper training mode tools the throw was used later in the stock.
If anything, up throw's insane damage tends to be even more valuable.

I would've killed for him to have at least one new move. Throws don't really count as they weren't in rivals but they kinda prove my point by being really awesome additions to his moveset.
Do Fishbunjin comparison of Fraymakers to Slap City
Looks like down tilt 0:42 and down throw 4:34 were inspired by SSBU Pikachu for Fraymakers.
down tilt was ripped directly from rivals, orcane's original game, where it is a frame 4 monster that confirms into basically anything you want and sets up a kill confirm. Rivals came out before Ultimate

I came back after his reveal in Rivals 2 to see how close they were to that version and it is pretty close. Interesting.
Love the art in fraymakers, but i am hoping that they add water effects later on in development.

It's wild that he's almost 100% an exact recreation, down to damage numbers, though I guess they do say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
