2 years and 36 000 thousand views, and I just realised today that I say Christmas Moss in the video, and it is! But I put in the latin name for Java Moss in the description. Sorry Fishlovers.
Correct one is : Vesicularia montagnei
from now on, lets call it Christmoss ok? :D
How did this end up working out I'm looking at spiky moss and Christmas moss for my two big trees for my 4 ft. Only problem there tall up in a high light tank. Any suggestions
@@meganrobson2535 Use a lot of floating plants until is has established
you seem like a nice guy and you have beautiful tanks. thanks for sharing them with us.
Thank YOU Angela! very sweet of you! :-)
thank you.. So excited to do the same tomorrow. My Thursday :) you have lovely tanks
Simone Maduro Thanks a lot. Glad you like them. 😊
That is ONE Nice pc of MOss, Wished I could get it like that where I live, i have ordered moss on line and it is about a golf ball size if that, and it cost more than $3. Nice Score Crazy aquarium guy
It is all about having good relationships with your LFS. :-)
Nice video mate, it looks great. I have used super glue to attach moss to rock and it did a great job too.
Yes, superglue works awesome. BVut i did not have any at the time. And this is cheaper! :-)
@@CrazyAquariumGuy always good to think of different ways of doing things, once again great work. Once these plants starts to grow then it will looks natural and amazing.
As someone who also enjoys large zebra danio schools...you made a good choice. If you want a tighter school of fish I find Cardinals to be more swarm like schools.
xX0pt1cKn1ghtXxMLGPRO Thanks 🙂 I don't know about what you said about cardinals tthough. They are not very good schoolers in my opinion.
But if you like big schools! :-) Check out my 130 green neon tetras. ua-cam.com/video/b_ZnDBn2Cuk/v-deo.html
Well I just meant they swim closer together and in the same direction when the school which is really awesome. I'll be sure to check out your neon tetra video! :)
xX0pt1cKn1ghtXxMLGPRO I get you buddy. Thanks! 🙂
Nice to see an fellow Sweden doing aquarium videos. I just subbed to you :)
Thanksfor the support buddy! ;-) Skulle vara kul med mer svenskar i akvariehobbyn!
Ja helt klart.
That piece of Christmas Moss would be at least $20 at my store. great deal.
Philthy Phil It is all about connections in this hobby! 😉
My anubias is 100 it's worth it
Very nice work with the moss!
Thank you sir!
Man!! your hands are shaking
I think you do extra hardwork😂😂
I drink too much coffey and have big insomnia problems. :-/
@@CrazyAquariumGuy is it ok now?
@@otaku356v5 No. Thanks for asking
@@CrazyAquariumGuy so is it a bother?
I have lot's of things going on. Especially in this video. Suffering from 7 years of hard-core depression...
Will you please show a video feeding your goldfish! I love them they are just gorgeous.....I could watch them swim all day! 🙂
Ofcourse! I feed them 3-4 times every day. Coming soon. :-)
Very nice video 🌼
Haha, thanks. The views just took of all of a sudden. When I released it, it had 300. :-D
Today I bought the same moss in a little cup..a piece, I think 5x5centimeters, and payed €5,95😵
But thanks for the video, tomorrow I will do the same as you did on spiderwood (but then with a lot less moss haha😁)
I am sorry you didn't get more. My guy has learned that he was too generous with the portions. So now they are pathetic like every where else. 😰
Thanks man great video....
James Martin Thank you Sir! 😊
Just really well done
Thanks again
Great video brother.
Thanks Man! :-)
Thanks for the note regarding goldfish and java moss, I’ve been wondering why it’s just dying all the time!!
This is actually christmas moss, but thank you for the comment. I say chritmas moss in the video, and it is christmas moss in the video. But I just realised that (36000 views later) I put in the latin name for Java Moss in the description. Sorry for the confusion.
Actually I have had succees keeping Java Moss with goldfish. But it all just depends on how much you are feeding them. You can carpet a tank with goldfish if you feed them enough in theory. :-)
HI! After gluing the plant to the driftwood, how long should I wait before I add them in to the tank?
I always recommend Gorilla glue, the gel version. It dryes faster in water, so just put it in right away. :-)
Hej. Denna video ä gammal men informationen ä bra.
Hoppas du kommer igång igen 100% och vi alla kan njuta av ditt material. Mvh JL
Kommer aldrig sluta helt.
Thanks for this, this is awesome! The tenerum driftwood looks excellent, I've never done anything other than Java moss.
Love the Disqus tank's marimo balls, looks very soothing. Is the huge plant at the centre one single plant, or is it multiple plants clustered together?
Hello! :-)
Yes, that is one of my huge Java Ferns. I love them. :-)
Forgot to say thank you for your nice comment! 😀👌
Just curious what’s your opinion on Monosolenium Tenerum and Süsswassertang after trying them in your aquariums. I just dropped a huge ball of Süsswassertang in my shrimp tank and immediately regretted it 😅. Although shrimp love it, cleaning under loose Süsswassertang is mission impossible.
I love it in a lowlight tank, or in a highlight tank with floating plants. The colour gets amazing, Lok at my posts. You will have do scroll down a bit. But I had javamoss, and anubias nana petite, then covered with duckweed. It is like a green wounderland. I regeret not keeping plants from that tank. And ofcurse subwassertang. Absolute amazing when you get a lot covering a whole 3D background, or a big driftwood piece. :-) I never ckean my gravel ever. Just add more plants and they will. Not in any tank! EVER ;-)
If you have good lithing. Lokk at my neontetra tank. Helanthium Tenellum. Easiest carpet plant ever. Needs soil though. But you can have soil underneath the sand if you like sand on top...
@@CrazyAquariumGuy I was referring to me just dropping a ball of Süsswassertang loose (not tied or glued to anything). I have a 10 gallon gold apple snail tank where I dropped a volleyball size clump of Süsswassertang. I was cleaning and replacing water weekly, but 5-6 weeks later I saw detritus worms in the tank for the very first time in my life. Stirred up the Süsswassertang and there was a ton of mulm. Between the dozens of baby apple snails and the loose plant, cleaning took 4 days, 4 50% water change and probably flushed bunch of baby snails and parts of the plant. Thinking of either making some sort of cage filled up with Süsswassertang, or getting rid of it totally.
Java and cristmas moss are 2 of the possible substitute plants. I like them both.
@@DennyMK007 Just buy a Killi Fish. They eat any organism. Even planaria. The most common one. Bright Beutiful orange. That is how I did it. But why not tie it to some wood or stone?
Thanks so much I subbed and liked
Thank you for the support Mr Random Guy!!!
Zacks Tanks Crazy Aquarium Guy can’t wait to try this out I have some java mode on its way right noe
What is organic thread? Can I use polyester or cotton thread??
Sure. Use cotton. No problem. 🙂🤟
In the beginning of video I saw a giant goldfish how old is it what do u feed
actually it is about 16 months.
Hi, this moss need co2?
Absolutely not! 😊👍 But it does appreciate medium light. But T5 or budget LED is enough for sure.
@@CrazyAquariumGuy thanks a lot for info.. because my tank just low techa. next week i will start planting on the wood.. 😋
@@azwanramli8312 Good Luck!
Tjena! Bor du i Stockholm? Vart handlar du dina akvariumgrejer?
Tja! Nej inte i Stockholm. Oj, väldigt många olika ställen. Men mossan i den här videon var från Akvarievalvet i Norrköping.
I don't have any live plants in my 75 and wold like to know if you found Anubius easy to grow? Did you use any water fertilizers?
Anubias is very easy to grow. No, I usually do not.

Love it 😊 i just bought some moss for my shrimp tank and landed here. I attached 3 driftwood and 1 stone with moss, it looks awesome now ^^
Keep up The good work :D you taught me something
Btw, använder du någon växtnäring till räk akvariet? Och vilken isf? 😊
@@balbinagutierrez8676 Gruset är uppblandat med Fluval Stratum. Annars ingen näring. 🙂
I’m a Swede living in China setting up my first aquascape. The accent sounded really Swedish! Kul med en bra svensk youtubekanal. Kör så det ryker!
how do you vacuum the gravel in your planted substrate?
I never do that.
@@CrazyAquariumGuy that's cool... less work because of the live plants?
@@stateniland Absolutely. 🤗
Why not to use glue?
More expensive and does not work well with subwasssertang.
whats the difference with this and subswassertang?
The first moss is subwassertang. So no difference. 🙂
@@CrazyAquariumGuy Oh so Monosolenium tenerum is just another name for Subwassertang? same plant?
Yes. :-) There is common names and Latin names of everything living.
Var ifrån beställer du fiskar och växter?
Om du beställer på nätet alltså:)

Jaha okej, tack så jättemycket för hjälpen:))
How long do you have lights on?
7 - 9,5 hours. It depends on the aquarium

moss plant needs light or not?
In my experience, moss grows bigger, faster and more beautiful with good lighting.
