I have been listening to steel guitar players since 1938. And I have heard MOST of the greats for decades. Made friends with many of them. And many played at my show in Atlanta in '97 & '98. But outside of Jerry Byrd and Buddy Emmons, NONE have touched me like Gary Carter. His timbre, touch and tone are unbelievable. The sound that comes out of his amp beats anything I have ever heard and 2nd ONLY to JB and BE. It is so clear and melodious that words can NOT describe it. Thus, his intonation is to die for! This man is innately gifted with talents that ONLY could come from Heaven. May Jesus continue to bless him always for what he has done. It is NO wonder that Marty Stuart and Connie Smith made him their SG player. Since Connie is the SG "Queen", she KNOWS what an exceptional SG player is. For she began with Weldon Myrick and it is NO wonder she chose Gary of late. Considering that most of the greats are passed on, she picked the best there is. May Jesus bless her. A truly precious lady from Heaven too!. It would not surprise me if Marty thanked Jesus in prayer every day..
Gary has already been one of my favorite steel players, one of the best ever, and maybe over looked sometimes, meet him and his brother Jimmy when they played for The Four Guys.
As the "Brits" would say, "Absolutely Brilliant!" And it does not begin to describe this unbelievable steel guitar player. I play his videos over and over and the spell bind me. Wow!
Never cease to amaze me with the emotion in your playing. To be able to touch somebody's heart is rare. Vince Gill said if he could play and take you to a place, a memory or a time in your life then he did his job. Ya do that Gary!! thx man....

I really like this song. Your playing on Marty Stewart show years ago of ,I love you because, is one of my all-time favorite steel songs. It was perfect. I try to copy it as best I can but the rig you used there was awesome sounding. My other favorite is Del Mullen playing ,silver wings. You guys are great.
