Miljenko Matijavek most underrated power voice in the game.He did all the vocals in the movie Rockstar for the band Steeldragon,he had part of a stage fall on him and suffered a brain injury,he never fully recovered but still performs today

He was Wahlberg's voice to be exact. Jeff Scott Soto did the vocals for the original singer and Myles Kennedy was the voice of the one who replaced Mark in the end.
This was like a superhero singer at the peak of his power.
Miljenko was nearly killed in an on-stage accident in 1992 opening for Slaughter in Denver when a 1,000-lb. lighting truss fell on his head, driving his face into the stage. He's still hits all the notes, but he can't hold them as long anymore...

At almost 60, on a good day, Mili is still ripping. All of that after an almost fatal accident back in his youth. Mind-blowing. I love his voice.

Lots of comments about Mili's accident & recovery, but nobody really answered your other question: yes, this song was absolutely _huge_ for a long minute back in the early 90s. It actually got up to #23 on the Billboard Top 40, making Steelheart one of the last "glam" bands to break out before Nirvana & grunge re-wrote popular rock music. Their follow-up single "She's Gone" had some success but failed to crack the Top 40, and then between Nirvana and Milijenko's near death the band largely faded into obscurity.
Seeing various channel's reactions to Steelheart's music and his otherworldly voice warms the cockles of my heart. I was "ground zero" when they hit the scene with their self-titled debut album the year I graduated high school: 1990. 3 groups from that era I really thought were gonna go the distance: Steelheart, Eyes, and Wildside. Then...Nirvana hit the scene in '93 and the "hair band" genre all but died off. Damn shame. The early '90s were truly a MAGICAL TIME to be alive.

Yeah, grunge and an unfortunate accident derailed Steelheart.
Miljenko Matijević is the lead singers name.... he was born in Croatia. 30 years later, he can still hit them high notes... he can't hold them as long but it's still impressive all these years later can still hit them... look up another Steelheart song called She's Gone.

What happened to Steelheart was that back when they were at the peak of their fame, right at the very late end of the glam era, they had an accident on stage where Miljenko nearly died crushed by the stage lights that fell on top of him, there's even footage of this moment right here on YT but I wouldn't recommend watching as its pretty horriffic and shocking to see. It took him like two years to recover and by the time they were back Grunge had come out and record companies abandoned them.

They put out 2 or 3 CDs in the early 1990s - this is from their 1st in 1991. I still have the original CD I bought when it came out - YES I'm that old (even older actually, lol) As a drummer, I remember being blown away by how huge the drum sound was - sounded like they were recorded in an airplane hanger...anyway, during a show sometime after their 3rd CD, a lighting truss came down on the lead singer, nearly killing him and definitely ending his career for a while...it took him years to recover and he is still active today.
Steelheart is more like White Lion than Poison in popularity. White Lion was tailored to be the next Van Halen, and "Wait" was their love ballad. (I liked it....)

Okay, here’s the scoop. The lead singer Miljenko Matijevic has one of the best voices of all time. Can still hit it to this day at nearly 60. Why weren’t they bigger? Well, Miljenko actually fell while climbing scaffolding in a concert and had to go through extensive rehab due a broken neck and (supposedly ruptured throat).

Steel heart was very good band they released this in 1990 hairbands were kinda on the way out but this album carried them about halfway through 90s about 95 he got very hurt almost didn’t make it thought he would never sing again when something above him while in concert something fell on him he had to have operation and he came back he’s singing today its name is Michael I don’t know how to pronounce his last name but it starts with an M
He's on my list of best vocalists, for sure. I like the live version of She's Gone. Goose bump inducing. If you wanna check out a new band, try The Sweet. They're glam rock forefathers. Each band member was talented beyond belief. All four of them are great vocalists. Drummer and bassist are awesome, guitarist is awesome. They had some balls, dressing up all campy in skirts and makeup, kissing on each other in the 1970s on Top of the Pops.

I performed this song back in 1987 in my high school for end of year thing before graduation. It was pretty big back in 1987. Its on a VHS somewhere, though haven't had a VHS player for a decade.

Many said that this band is just a one hit wonder because they are late in the 80's glam rock/hair band game (1989) but the band Firehouse in similar genre was also formed in the same year and the got much success.
Steelheart vocalist was severed injured during concert, the lightning truce fell on him with severe injuries broken jaw, nose,head cracked open he had, suffered memory lost, he spent many years of recovery that is why they never got the success they deserve

Steelheart was at their most popular from 88- 91 This song that you reacted to was probably their biggest hit it was definitley a top ten song actually it seems like it was #1 from what i remeber .. Gimme a break i was 12 lol They had a song called "shes gone" that was huge and in 2001 the singer Mike M. had a small cameo in Mark Walberg and Jennifer Anniston movie" Rockstar" which is such a good movie great story amazing songs! Mark Walburg plays Chris Cole a singer in his favorite bands tribute band where they dress just like the members of this band Steel Dragon and Chris Cole played by Wahlburg is very serious about being part of this tribute band called " Blood Pollution" a Steel Dragon song. He takes it so serious almost to the point of obscession or delusion... Where its like he thinks he is Bobby Beers the real lead singer of the world Famous Steel Dragon! He wears exactly what Bobby Beers from Steel Dragon wears and he knows absolutley everything about Steel Dragon he even gets his nipple pierced because Bobby Beers from Steel Dragon got his pierced last week ! Chris Cole played by Wahlburg has the same hair as Bobby Beers wears eyeliner like Beers everything has to be perfect in Chris Coles eyes! When it comes to band practice with Blood Pollution his Steel Dragon tribute band he even stops practice because the guitarist isnt playing the harmonic note perfectly so he plays the original on a tape deck from Steel Dragon and says" play it like that" can you do that" the guitarist Coles best friend plays it the way he wants and hes happy! Btw Chris Cole played by Wahlberg has the most AMAZING voice even better than Bobby Beers! So after practice there happens to be a Steel Dragon concert at the Arena in their town and they get in all their look alike Steel Dragon gear and are all jammin on the way to the show! They get to the parkinglot at the show and they stick Blood Pollution flyers on all the cars windsheilds in the parkinglot before they go in! Because they are having a Blood Pollution show and are the best Steel Dragon tribute band so very smart to promote your show at an actual Steel Dragon show. They are in the concert watching Steel Dragon and Chris Cole played by Wahlberg his girlfriend played by Jennifer Anniston and the rest of his band are front row and Steel Dragons next song is getting ready to start and Bobby Beers singer of Steel Dragon always says before this song " if you follow your heart Dreams do come true" and Chris Cole screamed dreams come true before Bobby did and got his attention! They start the Steel Dragon hit " Stand up and shout" and Bobby is singing the band comes in then the band stops and Bobby sings it goes back in forth like that before they all come in together.. So when they get to that part where its just Bobby singing Chris Cole is singing from the crowd along with Bobby but is even louder than Bobby with no microphone and hold the high note even longer than Bobby so again Bobby is like wtf and is looking at him again so Bobby is a little irtitated but impressed at the sametime.. So the concert is over Chis Cole his girlfriend/ manager Anniston and the rest of his tribute band see some other rocker lookin dudes tearin flyers their blood pollution flyers of the cars in the parkinglot and putting their own flyers on the cars and guess what? They as well are another Steel Dragon tribute band! So the singer of the other SteelDragon tribute band played by the singer of Third eye blind and Chris Cole played by Wahlburg have a standoff in the parking lot with each of their bands behind them talking sh*t to each other putting down each others outfits and playing.... So the singer of that rival tribute band is Chris Coles sworn enemy apparently ! Next they are at the Blood Pollution tribute show and its packed they sound amazing Chris Cole sounds amazing but again the guitarist plays the guitar part wrong and Chris Cole (Wahlburg) is furious and goes up to him and says dont ruin this show or my performance because you dont take this seriously this music deserves respect! So this pisses the guitarist off so again he plays the song how he wants and starts rubbing a beer bottle up and down the neck of the guitar so Chris walks over to his amp and unplugs it and goes back to rocking out . then the guitarist plugs it back in and starts going nuts on the guitar then Chris is so pissed he takes his microphone stand and smashes his guitar amp and breaks it and then they start fighting on stage and are rolling around on the ground! Apparently this has hapoene before.. So a few days go by Xhris Cole and Anniston arrive at where Blood Pollution practice for rehersal and they hear the band jamming and someone singing when they are walking down the stairs. Guess who is singing in Chris Coles Beloved Steel Dragon tribute band!? The rival Shi**y Steel Dragon tribute band! Chris Cole is like Wtf and walks in and goes get him outta here you made your point! The other singer is like no you get outta here and the guitarist Coles best friend is like CHRIS WE WANT TO WRITE OUR OWN SONGS . He says you think that your in god damn Steel Dragon and you dont know where Chris Cole begins and Bobby Beers ends! The guitarist " bradley" goes we want to play our own songs and Cole goes why dont you write me a song of why we would ever do that!? Anyway they fire Chris Cole and Chris goes if i walk out that door im never coming back!! Bradley goes Okay! Chris goes I mean it Im NEVER COMING BACK!!! SO CHRIS TAKES HIS MIC STAND AND HIS CABLES AND MARCHES UP THE STAIRS! EMILY CHRIS COLES GIRLFRIEND and manager of Blood Pollution and Chris just gives them a look of deathand like you stupid idiots!! Bradley goes you can still manage us if you want? Emily goes" the number one rule as a manager is, is you stick with the talent! And all the talent that was in this band has just walked out of the f*ckindoor!" A week later Chris is asleep btw he still lives at his parents house.. She screams at him because there is a phone call for him so he comes downstairs and picks up the phone and says Hello.. On the other end is an english accent of a man saying are you Chris Cole? and Chris says yes! The man with the accent says the Chris Cole with the amazing voice ? And Chris says "who is this"? The man on the phone says this is tge guitarist from Steel Dragon!!! Chris just hangs up!! The guitaeist from Steel Dragon calls right back and saysRicky do you know your guitar playing is just as shitty as your accent!? And the guitarist of Steel Dragon goes i cant do much about my accent what do you suggest about my playing!? Chris goes "Who is this" ? He says im the guitarist of Steel Dragon so Chris asks him question only The guitarist of SD would know. Chria realized it was him! The guitarist goes i there is a plane ticket waiting for you oh he also played him a recording of Chris singing at one of his shows because some Steel Dragon groupies that Chris knows showed the real Steel Dragon Chris Coles performce in his Steel Dragon tribute band and the band was blown away! So Chris flys to Steel Dragons Mansion he still doesnt know why hes there they greet Chris and then Bobby Beers busts in the room furious saying your going to replace me with some kid!? Chris doesnt even realize why hes there still So Bobby says to Steel Dragon " its because im gay isnt it"!? Chros is so shocked he says to Bobby " your gay" Bobby all condesending " says yes im gay" and also says i have both my nipples pierced have a house in morrocco because im straight or something being veru facetious! Then Steel Dragon says we dont care who your buggering! Bobby goes its just like being bloody Elvis! Then the guitarist goes yeah except he was the King! They all giggled. Then Bobby turns back all dramatic and pulls of a wig and goes yeah im just a Queen! You bastards you bloody bastards! Now Chris is so shocked and heartbroken because Bobby Beers was his life his idol and in 10 seconds he finds out hes gay wears a wig and has just been fired from Steel Dragon! He now realizes hes there to audition. He does and he nails it and the band goes" so do you want the gig then" the next scene you see hiw old band that kicked him out a week earlier and saying you rhink your in Steel Dragon yourr mental! And they are all watching Mtv with the new sh*tty singer from the other tribute band and Mtv says Bobby Beers is fired and new singer Chris Cole nicked named "IZZy" is the new singer of Steel Dragon!!!! Guess who the voice of Chris Cole played by Mark Wahlburg is.. The singer from Steelheart Mike M from this video you reacted too!!! So cool!

Miljenko Matijevic is a true legend. This was way before any kind of autotune. There is one Male singer who can sing much much higher. Adam Lopez, he does Mariah Carey's Emotions and does the whistle register.

Steelheart's only problem was their timing. They came out in, I believe, 1990. Hair bands were on their way out with the rise of the short lived grunge bands. Sad actually. Incredible vocalist, yet hardly known.
Would have been much bigger but came out about the time grunge was getting big.

Steelheart unfortunately came up in the twilight years of metal and hard rock. I think a less than six months after this song came out a couple of small grunge bands called Nirvana and Mudhoney showed up.

People mentioned he sang the vocals for the movie Rock Star but sense your fans of Myles Kennedy's vocals he was pulled up on the stage to sing towards the end of the movie, Myles and Milli are 2 of my favorite vocalist I've seen both live multiple times and have never walked away disappointed!! Another awesome vocalist you may want to check out is Dino Jelusik (not sure I spelled his name properly)

Don't know why there are so many pauses, other reactors to this video get through it with maybe 2 or 3 stops. I understand that you 2 are watching it all the way thru but it crushes the vibe for the viewers with all these stops.
I know it sucks, but I uploaded it like 7 different times and it got blocked every time. I tried with the blurred video, I put a few pauses and still blocked. This was the only attempt I did that actually went through without getting blocked unfortunately.

Most serenely have the jerk part right. This was the most important time in music some of the best voices ever and great great musitions including drummers, by the way. These bands put their whole lives into their music toured year after year night after performed night after night. I think if you cant appreciate the talent especially being a musition then why do you do this. Iam 67 and was there thru the whole thing.

I know it's a different genre compared to this song. But you guys should check out Spiritbox. Fairly similar to Jinjer. Beautiful clean vocals and well I'll leave the rest as a surprise. Instrumentals wise, some of the best rifts imo as well.

I understand you gota talk during reactions because that's what it's all about, but it would be nice to see you guys develop a rhythm , when you interject, that flows with the song. One thing I noticed is every time the singer would go into a vocal stretch, you guys would talk at the same time instead of really taking it in and then commenting after. It just makes it seem like you are only partially engaged and not really doing the video justice. Other than that, I like it.
