- This fan trailer reimagines Rapture using the power of Unreal Engine 5. It is a follow-up to a scene I did back in 2014 called "Bioshock On Unreal Engine 4".
** Please Note - This is just a fan trailer and I have no plans to make a full game out of this. I do not claim to own Bioshock or any of its content. This is simply my tribute to an iconic franchise!

This is exactly how Bioshock felt to me when it came out. It was the graphics showpiece of its time. In my memory it always looked this good.
Yeah me too I was about to say that good job though, also it might be because I also played the remastered too
I still play it each year. It hits different when you haven't played it in a while.
It’s still an amazing looking game. I just finished it a few weeks ago and used an original 360 disc in my Xbox one and I was amazed by how vivid and detailed it all was. Not modern amounts of sharp lines and clear quality textures we take for granted today but it is definitely a game that ages like fine wine due to the insane art design. Seriously one of the most finely realized worlds in all of video games.
Didn't it look like this when it came outbu don't understand 😂 I think I'm high and got my phone brightness and bkueiight turned way down 😅
It looked great but at the time HDTV was advancing which made it seem even better. I took my console to Circuit City before buying one and this is the main game I remember at that time.
-Weapons and art styles are all perfectly retained from the first game
-Looks like actual gameplay and not some pre-rendered E3 cutscene
-"Songbird" implies a link to BioShock Infinite and the infinite realities somehow
-Antagonist named "Darwin" + showing you fighting and presumably breathing underwater = story will put the focus squarely on the sociological and physical effects of splicing on Rapture's citizens, something the first 2 game's main stories never really gave us a deep dive into
I'm 100% convinced you're a 2K dev and this whole video is just an elaborate teaser for BioShock 4.

Unfortunately, it is likely that this scene took the man a good many months to make, and if you think about it, that is a tiny snapshot of Bioshock, to recreate the entire game in UE5 is something not even the original devs can/will do.
This is actually a clip leaked from BioShock isolation. It's delayed to 2024 unfortunately but we'll get to see another masterpiece

The cats bringing you items would be a cool detail. Kind of like Elizabeth bringing you things in Infinite. Maybe they could crawl into hard to reach places to search for things.

My buddy told me he thought there was an achievement for wrench/plasmids only. So I went through the game wrench only, only to find out there wasn't. Pretty cool to know you can, though.
@@sgtjohnson49 Right? i never knew this tbh but after doing melee only on new vegas i went back to bioshock because i remembered the perks for the wrench and damn that electric wrench perk by itself is already one of the best perks haha
@@jordandrukqsz4026 there is a stealth attack wrench perk and an invisibility perk while crouching combo as well, and just a perk that does extra wrench damage, and the electric wrench, and some more I probably don't remember at the moment. There's actually some pretty awesome rpg elements to bioshock 1 with the perks, though New Vegas does the RPG elements better. I've never done melee only in a fallout but new Vegas would be my #1 choice for that or unarmed only.

Super great idea to have animals that “evolve today!” I’d love to see your rendition of dogs in Rapture.
Maybe add some concept art of how like other animals were used to produce ADAM , those could be secrets or something.
Reminds me of the concept art where Little Sisters were originally going to be these dogs in wheelchairs.
This would be a dream, everything looks great. I’m not quite a fan of the damage effect with the blood on the screen, doesn’t feel as high quality as the rest of it. Over all it looks amazing.
I love how the cat is clearly infused with some plasmid and would take absolutely No Shit.
Wouldn't mind if they re-made the whole game with that engine.
And add a few things that were cut or concept. Like skyblivion is doing

Games wont be 4k by standard anytime soon, not until the average consumer can afford a machine to run it. But thats ok! Devs just need to keep mods in mind and let fans make 4k textures. I would pay for for someones art like that in a heartbeat

As much as I appreciate newer games that try to give me the Bioshock feeling, nothing can top the first game. This filled me with so much nostalgia.

I'd have loved to! The assets I did have had no animations or rig, so I had to improvise :P the AI behaviors weren't quite as detailed as I'd hoped but I got pretty solid melee, ranged, and plasmid casters working.

This is much better than I have always imagine Bioshock in Unreal Engine 5
How I feel the story of this would be if it was a fangame: The year is 1973, four years after Subject Delta and Eleanor's escape to the surface, following the good ending where you save all the Little Sisters, Rapture is now under control of a corrupt man named Darwin, most of the city had been rebuilt, but it's still an apocalyptic society. His goal is to find a way to revive Fontaine. You play as a Navy Seal who's submarine gets destroyed by a hurricane, with only you surviving, you come across a bathesphere, enter it, and enter Rapture. Much has changed since 1969. Since most of the Little Sisters have either been rescued or turned into Big Sisters, the are now relying on "Little Brothers" to harvest Adam. There are also two new Big Daddy types: "The Hunter," who's model is that of the Alpha Series concept art with a more circle helmet with two green lights on the bottom, and the wrecker, who's model is that of the Big Daddy concept art that is normal looking diving suit, just slightly bigger and has a large hook for a weapon. Together, with the help of a rebel codenamed "Songbird." You work to prevent Fontaine's revival and escape Rapture once and for all.
This is the best thing that has happened in the bioshock community in awhile! You should really make a playable version for the fans😁😁😁

He'd probably need a team to make a playable game. Which I'd be find funding. If more donation sites went towards stuff like this I'd be all over it.
This does look really good. It is a huge shame that the Bioshock games didn't support mods, as no doubt talented modders could have given us new levels and even full single player campaigns to keep us immersed in Rapture and Columbia (though I'm not a big fan of Bioshock: Infinite, personally).
Same I think Infinite is overrated
Infinite is worst than the previous two entries on almost every single aspect. The level design is far worse, much more linear and requires a lot of backtracking. The gameplay is not as rich as Bioshock 2 especially because of that stupid weapon limitation. The arenas are not as diverse and they do not offer the same variety of approaches than B1 and 2 did. When i think about it, Bioshock infinite felt like a narrative FPS, whereas B1 and 2 were true immersive sim.
@@trgrgtgrtgr7724 Bioshock 1 and 2 are not immersive sims in almost any way. they don't have multiple approaches to quests and have little to no other choices. but they are very immersive and have a level structure more akin to metroidvanias. Infinite is different in many ways: it's levels are more like corridors that you go through, while looking at show pieces, while 1 and 2 levels are just places you explore. there's no exploration in Infinite. and Infinite is also not a horror, while 1 and 2 definitely are. Bioshock 1 and 2 are a lot more closer to something like Resident Evil 2 (especially, similar with the remake), while Infinite is more like Resident Evil 6. different paces, different atmospheres, different everything, but it doesn't make first two games into immersive sims. Bioshock 1 and Dishonored or Deus Ex are as similar as Bioshock Infinite and Resident Evil 7
@@DorkN313 Infinite was originally supposed to be more like its pedecessors, more open with exploration, zones, and such, but so much was cut scrapped that it's unrecognizable from its original target 😔

Bioshock (other than the ending where they clearly ran out of time/money) is perfect already, and other than being too easy (which is solved by upping the difficulty and turning off silly stuff like enemy health bars) Infinite was fantastic. A reboot? F*** no! More sequels in more worlds with more connections like Burial at Sea!
Infinite was stupid. It was call of duty in the sky, no atmospheric at all. The only good thing were the Lutece but the rest was generic as fuck
@@Sadlyevan no atmosphere? Infinite has many many problems but a lack of atmosphere isn't one. Sure, it's not the same atmosphere as Rapture, but it's not supposed to be. Infinite nails the religious utopia, where everything is bright and shiny and perfect until you look a little closer. God, that moment when you're walking through the halls of Colombia on arrival, going past brilliant statues and numerous candles with that gospel hymn in the background, it just nails the atmosphere. Then you see great air balloons and happy people everywhere, it's ominous and creepy in a totally different way than Rapture.

I built a PC for my little sister (:D) last week. She´s now grinding the triologie having no PC gaming experience at all. She´s loving it. (I gave her the remastered versions of Bioshock).
God I forgot how amazing this series is! Every Bioshock is very well constructed

Man, I recently played through the entire Bioshock trilogy and the first game became one of my favorite games of all time. And I don't say that for many games (I'd only say that about Xenoblade Chronicles 1, Earthbound and Dark Souls 1). But Bioshock 1 blew me away in a way that a game hasn't done in a long time. And seeing it in Unreal Engine, ugh it looks so goooood

I found second one more "bioshockish". Yes, it wasnt the first breakthrough, but was more grimdark with more desperate feel.
@ Oh, I love the second game too. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but it's not too many steps below 1. It's gameplay is top notch, I actually found its characters way more emotionally attaching to me, and it's visuals are even better, and the first game was already great in that department. And I really like how the choices feel like they actually matter now, unlike the first where the only real choice was saving or harvesting the little sisters. And it was for two endings where one ending was clearly better than the other lol.
So yeah, I know it's popular to not care about the 2nd game but it did a lot of right and I love it almost as equally as 1.
...Infinite is awful though, imo. But that's pretty much all I want to say on it for now. I did not like Infinite at all...

It’s amazing a fan not a developer made this. This is why games are all the same anymore. Company’s don’t let people express the art they can make. Example: look at Psychonauts 2. It’s so different from the modern games it’s refreshing

This is the classic thing of how I thought VHS looked perfectly fine until I go back and actually looked at the images and realised what I was accustomed to, because this looks exactly like how I remembered Bioshock to look like... I'm sure I'll be in for a surprise when I look up the original's graphics lol

This is what I wanted from the remaster. An upgrade to the new engine, ray tracing, expanded Rapture, add-in cut content..
The best part is that the eye level is natural. Most FPS games look like your observing the game from kneecap height.

Absolutely stunning! This felt like a natural, organic extension of Rapture proper. I'm guessing this is supposed to make place during the Rapture Civil War or right after Ryan pumps the pheromone into the air supply.
Yeah! Think of the main character as Ryan's gatekeeper for bathy transit across Rapture, being the only one besides Jack from the first game. Darwin finds other means (like his experimental deep sea plasmid) to gather his forces undetected while they secure your key and expand.
Sheesh the amount of work this must've taken. Good work.
