It would be killer to test against AFR 290 oval to also compare with the Promax heads
290cc is a real nice head for out of the box.
Him and DZ performance just did that. The 280s hold their own for the valve size.
My guess is that those heads would work great on a 467 with about 11 to 1
Love TFS heads 👍💪😎 Awesome stuff can't wait sir ... Thanks
Thanks for doing this review. I have been wanting these for my 427 build.
Very exciting to see how much power it can make! And how it will work on the 540. Gives me some Idea how it will work on my 555. 👍🏻
Trick flow has always been a step ahead Tony Mamo always uses them and Chris Brintnell uses them on all the big blocks can't go wrong both ex AFR guys
For Mopar they have aMax Wedge head by TFS flows a little more, will make nice engine too.
Appears quite a nice for a given application.
awesome, I've been wondering how these stack up against the AFR 265s
dont these flow really close to what the 265s flow at .400 lift?
That was one of the choices I was thinking about for my 502, it would be interesting to see those heads in the 540 with a smaller hydraulic roller cam
Just going to be a torque monster, small heads, small cam . Heads kinda small.
@@cedricwilson2055 ya, that’s my idea for my 502, lunati roller cam .544 lift, Flowtek 290’s, with Holley terminator EFI and a 4L85e in a g body should be a good cruiser
I'd love to see this on Dominic's 436" 396 stroker, if he still has that motor. Thanks for the review, looking forward to future results.
that's my go-to head for 427 454. Love trick flow heads
Maybe if you ask them why it doesn't have the tear- drop for the valve stems, they may design one or send you one you can modify to prove it works ? Nothing to loose ,doing a great job, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones,
How's the lad's swimming?
They told me they like to do their own R and D. I get it because it would be insulting to their R and D guys if I came in and was like do this.
Can't wait to see it on the dyno
Assuming you guys are good again to be back using the 496 ?
Yes
Drop a afr 315 in the pot for comparisons sake
It’s the same head as the promaxx 317
How much room there is to raise the roof of the port? Also I wouldn't widen the valve. It will only tighten the wall side and add more mass to float it. Raise the roof for a good quarter of an inch at the port opening and straighten it to the bowl and it should have all the feed up to 8000 and a little bit above.
Never really liked trick flow stuff. However those look nice!
Can't wait to see the results of these (and other heads) on that 540 !!
Nice head
how much does the notch help?
Those flowed a little less than my cnc ported 781 cast irons on intake below .600. They finished out about 275 to 282cc. They flowed 280cfm at .400 lift, 317cfm at .500 and 336cfm at .600 lift.
However we flowed them on an older but functional sf-600.
I tested PBM, REV, FERREA, AND MANLEY severe duty valves and the PBM flowed the best on my bench.
You could always send them in and see what they actually flow and compare them to these
@@WeingartnerRacingI reached out by email with no success. The guy who did them actually had higher numbers than what I got
I could possibly send one head (weight=shipping) with all valves if interested.
Try emailing me again sometimes it slips through the cracks
700 hp potential
i dont care about Big block stuff but yet here I am, watching every video eric uploads till the end lmao
for an R&D project, id love to see an epoxied vane vs the stock casting.
Still info to be had regardless of the make
@@cedricwilson2055 yup, that's why I'm here (:
