  • Clothing Haul Videos have been a problem for many many years but it has just become even more problematic thanks to the short-form videos. In this video, I tell the reason behind this problem and why we need to get influencers to change their ways when it comes to clothes haul videos.

    Totally right! When I looked into my wardrobe, I realised I had way too much stuff that are hardly being worn. So I decided not to buy any clothes this year and use up what’s already there in the closet. Saves time, money and environment. Win-win for all❤

      Yaaaayyy! That’s a great idea Kiranmayi.. so glad that you made that decision. You’ll definitely be able to save a lot of money😍 and help the environment too🥰

    You are right. I totally agree with you. Even I have influenced by the Haul videos. On skin care and fashion I started buying all those. From few months I feel regret on buying those. Overall a period I realised I don't use so many of them. I started looking into what really need 😊

      You’re right.. unfortunately these hauls influence us more than we would like to admit and they make us think that we need those items a lot that we convince ourselves that we need it. I do hope that such Haul videos would be STOPPED Finallyyyyy!!!!

    Completely agree with you👏
    People need to understand that there is a thin line between "wants" and "needs".

      Unfortunately WANTS have become bigger priority in peoples’ life when compared to the NEEDS.☹️

    Kudos that someone raised a voice! But its a real gamble big brands/powerful ppl are all involved…who’s gonna stop!

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому

      Yes, I know that big brands and big voices are ALL involved in this. But sadly, more than them, it is the smaller creators who think they will give them the boost of audience. And if we, as audience, call out the problems of this Haul culture, hopefully lesser creators will go down this path.

    The same is with home decor hauls too

    Such an important msg! Another unsustainable trend is Amazon hauls for home and kitchen products where they curate products under a certain price tag. As a consumer I might not focus on the actual need or utility of the product. Instead I would be lured by the low price and start hoarding these. Not to mention, many of these products are made out of plastic and quite low in quality. They are not useful in the long run and end up being junked

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому

      Yep! Those Amazon Finds are just😤😤😤
      They emphasise the price and make you feel like it’s something that’ll solve a big problem at home when that problem never even existed at your home😕

    These fashion influencers are worse than the fast fashion brands. With contents like Airport look, brides made look, wedding guest look, this look, that look and all other bullshit these idiots cook our mind with low body image, insecurity and what not. As viewers we are given the power to report bad content. All social media corporates should include an option "environmental hazard " to report contents which promotes fast fashion, fashion hauls etc. Lots and lots of love and thanks to you Nayana, for the amazing content

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому

      I agree.. their unnecessary hauls and look books makes one thing that what they have isn’t enough. And that they need to buy more and more and more :(

    Being 4.9 feet tall has made buying clothes difficult for me, so I basically grew up not buying a lot of clothes (because I couldn't find clothes my size). Another thing that "helped" me was having cousins that did buy I lot of clothes, so I always (I still do) inherited their clothes. The other reason my clothes last a long time is that we wear uniforms at work, so I don't have to wear ny own clothes. I have had some of my items for decades. I haven't bought clothes in years.

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому +1

      I’m so glad to hear that. Hand-me-downs are always a blessing. I take it too. So proud that you haven’t bought clothes in years😍

    Hi Nayana, how good is it to buy a fabric and get it stitched from a local tailor. Is it any better than buying readymade clothes?
    Ofcourse with the idea of wearing the dress for as long as possible

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому +2

      Buying fabric and getting it stitched is definitely better since you’d be paying fairly to the tailor unlike a lot of brands who pay them the bare minimum..

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому +2

      Just make sure that you get good quality and if possible, organic clothing and try and stick to natural fibres instead of fabrics like nylon, polyester etc.

    I ve been watching a lot of skincare videos. Guilty! And i feel I need to buy all of it for my ageing skin. Specially Infuencers doing "pharmacy skincare underRs. 1000. Have bought a few too. But once the tube is over I am like.. Now what? Where do I dispose this. 🥺

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому

      Yep! That’s what those Haul Videos do to us.. it gets us to make some impulse purchasing that then becomes counter productive. :(

    Good one when we buy 1 clothing we have make sure we donate the well condition cloths who r in need

    • @NayanaPremnath
      @NayanaPremnath  Рік тому

      Hey! The donation side is actually not ideal. Because most clothes that we buy(especially the western clothes) are not always comfortable for them to wear and end up becoming useless to them. So I would say, always buy your clothes keeping in mind that you are planning to use it for decades. And hence buy good quality ones even if it costs a few hundreds more.
