As an older generation (Gen X) fan who grew up with TNG as “my” Star Trek, I really like these newer movies (& most of the new shows, too). In part, because of folks like you, Jen: the newer movies hooked you because they were tailored to your sensibilities, but were still recognizable as Star Trek at their core. The Kelvin movies minted a new Star Trek fan in you, & you are not alone. I defend the new movies & shows to older fans for exactly that reason. They have attracted tons of new fans to one of the best franchises in the world. We should all be happy about that. Every Trek is someone’s first. Every Trek is someone’s favorite. I am just happy that more Trek is being made & new people are finding it every day.
Agreed! And I think the spirit of Star Trek itself is open mindedness, exploration, experimentation, evolving... I thought this was a cool, different take on an alternate timeline that didn't mess with the OG stuff that made me want to delve deeper into the old shows and movies 🖖
I have spoken against those who bash new sci fi series precisely because I saw what critics and the fandom said about TNG, Voyager, and ENT in their first seasons, and because of social media it has become particularly toxic. You can make the same argument by using the Star Wars prequels: old fogies who loved episodes 4 through 6 HATED the prequels, but a new generation of fans loved them and still do. We're going to see the same with the sequel trilogy, as well as Discovery, as unbelievable as that sounds to the fandom. But unfortunately there are always going to be fans who don't want something new, they want the studios to remake what they liked on their terms, and there's just no way that can happen.
@@MMuraseofSandvich Not gonna actually counter ANY of the more common arguments levied against new trek? Cause it kinda seems like all you're saying is people are wrong (with no evidence) and this has happened before. As if the wrong assessment of one thing in the past inherently means the same applies to other things, no further investigation required... 🤦 I mean, you do realise flaws exist, right? Or would you say that [the room] is (unironically) a cinematic masterpiece too? I have seen the arguments posed by old trek fans, and I have yet to see ANY sort of proper counter put forth by fans of new trek. All the fans of new trek do is exactly what you do here; ignore all the actual argumentation while insisting it's all in people's heads. You know what the people who like the prequels do? They acknowledge the flaws. They don't pretend that there aren't any. Unlike all the people who constantly need to blindly "defend" against the criticism levied against things like [new trek]. New trek is depressing af, the dialogue sounds as though it's written like bad fan-fiction by a not so eloquent teenager. And what's with all the blood, gore and colorful language? What possible reason could the entirety of the federation of planets have to reintroduce copious amounts of swearing into their use of language? In fact, that's literally not how language works. It takes far longer than a single human lifetime to change the usage of language that much and on such a large scale. Since when is star trek like that?... Well, since new trek. It is SO OBVIOUS that the thoughtful and insightful nature of star trek was replaced by "sheer, fucking, hubris". Enjoy it subjectively all you want, that is your right as an individual and people should just accept that. Same goes for people who enjoy the taste of feces. But don't go around claiming a turd on a plate is a 5* meal when it's not... It's not right. There are MANY flaws, some of which are arguably irredeemable. And it simply doesn't work when people don't actually try to counter those arguments and instead try to brush them aside or talk around them. 🤷 And as a final thing to take note of; Our subjective opinions have NEVER actually held the power to dictate reality. (what people think about and used to think about the prequels, is inconsequential) If tomorrow everyone started eating turds on plates, that wouldn't magically make feces a healthy and sustaining meal. Reality simply does not work like that. 😮💨 Same goes for the quality of a work of fiction. People liking or enjoying something is not an actual look at the quality of its construction. So the argument you use here just doesn't work in the way you're trying to use it.
Anton Yelchin (Chekov) died during the filming of this movie, he hadn't shown up for rehearsal and when they went to his home he was found dead in his driveway. Apparently after he pulled into his driveway, he got out of his Jeep Cherokee to check for mail at his locked gate, his vehicle rolled down the steep incline pinning Anton between the pillar and the Jeep killing him. He was 27. 😔 Anyway, loved the review, love you, take care and stay safe ❤
The aircraft carrier the original ship was named after, USS _Enterprise_ (CV-6), was the sister ship of USS _Yorktown_ (CV-5). The original USS _Yorktown_ was sunk at Midway in 1942. USS _Enterprise_ made it through the whole of the Pacific War. She was marked as surplus in 1946, and ultimately sold for scrap in 1958, six years before Gene Roddenberry - who was a bomber pilot during the war - began work on _Star Trek_ with the S.S. _Yorktown._
As reinventions go, they also did a superb job with Star Trek Strange New Worlds, which takes place on the Enterprise 10 years before TOS. We see Pike, Spock, Uhura, Kirk, Chapel and later Scotty with a splendid crew, episodic stories. They also did a great job updating the intro theme and the ship.
the Little girl with Sulu is Demora Sulu, his daughter, she's seen in the original timeline in the movie Generations as the Helmsman of the Enterprise B
Glad the Ill-fated _Star Trek Enterprise_ got some recognition in this movie: The MACOs and the Xindi played a big part during the Series‘ third Season.
As a classic _STAR TREK_ fan, I was quite impressed with how they split this timeline while keeping the original in tact. IMO the _Kelvin Timeline_ concept was inspired.
This is an underrated gem. It went out of it's way to give us an interesting multi-faceted villain without retreading old characters. Not only that, actually made an interesting NEW member of the gang. If there ever is a new film I need to hear her talk about her new "house". I want to hear they salvaged parts of the Franklin for the Enterprise repair, and that she can tell you where each bit is.
I think any reboot, remake, reimagined of any movie or television the picks up a new fan that enjoys it and perhaps appreciates the originals is worth it.
I agree with you. I know nothing can replace our original cast, but this one has a ton of chemistry too. Star Trek always shines when it focuses on the friendships among the crew. This version has so much heart. And the musical scores are just phenomenal!
Great reaction Jen. I'm one of the old die hard Star Trek fans. I've been watching Star Trek since the early 70's. And I think you are right Jen when you say that they were made primarily to attract the younger generations. But old or young, how can you not love these movies?
A fourth STAR TREK movie was in development, with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as George Kirk, who didn't die, but ended up in an alternate universe as he was imprisoned by inter dimensional beings with God like abilities and Kirk and the Enterprise crew must save his father. However it was cancelled following the accidental death of Anton Yelchin.
@@kerry-j4mthe problem being sometimes paying all the actors their "worth" makes the production too expensive to be profitable. And it does sound like a terrible plot.
Jen you really surprised me, besides me you are the only other person (that I have spoken to written or verbally) that released the song (I didn't know the name) they used to disrupt the signal was the same song as the boy Kirk was listening to when he stole his stepdads car. The USS Franklin is meant to be from the Star Trek: Enterprise era - the design is very similar to the NX-Refit that was intended to be introduced in the not-filmed 5th season (which was in fact meant to take place during the Romulan War - which is where "Krall" lost his mind). Edit: It's also where the Xindi was a thing - Season 3, basically. No spoilers.
Man, i wasn't expecting to tear up hearing Anton as Chekov speaking in the end credits, but he was such a great actor and filled the role perfectly. This is my favorite of the Kelvin movies. The visuals and the score are epic, and the cast is firing on all cylinders here. I'm one of the few that grew up watching TNG when it was new but still like these movies. Good to know that they are still drawing in new fans even 15 years later
I'm so glad you've really been enjoying Star Trek, Jen, and there's still so much more. I especially have to agree with you that Karl Urban makes a great Bones. I think they did a great job with the casting in general for this version of the characters. Great reaction!!
Leonard Nimoy gets credited as a "Prime" example in two different franchises! He also voiced the scientific Sleestak in Will Farrell's "Land of the Lost" movie! He narrated, and maybe hosted, the original "In Search Of..." and his successor here hosts the revival version. In the original series version of "Mission: Impossible" he was also a secret agent. He was a great person to meet and chat with! Including being with William Shatner. My favorite encounter was not at an autograph table or in a Q&A line, but when my best friend and I randomly encountered them, as we and they were just walking. I'm not sure if that was just the mingling part of "Supper with the Stars" or during the regular convention session or both? 🤔 I look forward now to viewing your video! 😊
love your love for old and new trek. keep going with all of the shows, there is something to love in all of them. Regardless of what others might say or think.
Best line of the movie comes early on when Kirk is complaining about how routine everything has become, and says that "things have become...episodic." That was such a great call-back to TOS. The most heart-breaking moment of course was the reveal of the death of Ambassador Spock. Fans were still mourning the loss of Leonard Nimoy. It was a respectful tribute.
One of the great things about _Star Trek_ is that it reinvents itself for different generations. My mom was a fan of the Original Series, while I grew up with _The Next Generation._ Though the different groups of fans may squabble amongst themselves about the pros and cons of their eras, it is smart to never let the IP stagnate. This is my favorite of the Kelvin timeline movies. It's sad that tragedy bookended the production of this film. Leonard Nimoy passed a little before production began, and only weeks before the release of the movie, Anton Yelchin died in a freak accident. If production of a fourth Kelvin _Trek_ ever gets off the ground, the writers must address the problem of Anton's Chekov. While there is no perfect solution, an in-universe explanation exists. They can say Chekov left the _Enterprise_ to serve aboard the _Reliant,_ just as the character did in _The Wrath of Khan._
A beat so ILL that it can be weaponized. One of two facts about Sabotage that prove just how awesome it is. (The other fact being that there are action figures for the original music video.)
I know this was a while ago, but I just want to say, my Mom is a die-hard Trek fan, and watched the original series as it aired when she was in high school. And she's loved the reboots. They aren't trying to replace anything. Like most of Trek they're just adding more. I also really like these, and especially love how good the casting was. (Spock has always been my favorite character in all of Trek, and I think Zachary Quinto really nailed the character.) I'm glad Jen enjoyed them and is enjoying the rest of Star Trek.
Probably my three most favorite episode from TOS that you have not already watched are: Gamesters of Triskelion: My favorite overacting by William Shatner Day of the Dove: Has my favorite line in all of the shows and movies Patterns of Force: A great commentary on the dangers of trying to use evil for good. I think you will really enjoy those three. If you have already seen any of these, I missed it.
6:42 Mark! It is cool to see a full-sized starship launch like that rather tiny ones as seen in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and both versions of "Battlestar Galactica"! 🖖
Man, imagine being a highly decorated MACO like Edison and protecting the Earth through 2 wars (tho the Xindi war wasn't really a war in the classic sense, so i guess only one) only to be put on an outdated ship and be told to go explore lol.

40:21 Mark! No, they aren't rebuilding the wrecked ship. They built a replacement ship. Knowing what I now know about the "Enterprise-D" I see no reason now to repair and/or rebuild the wrecked one, though. In the Prime Timeline, she exploded because of the self-destruct and then experienced atmospheric entry burning and then impacting on the planet's surface, and then the planet exploded! There's no coming back from that! 😮
I don't quite manage to see these as Star Trek movies, but .. I do love them as great movies AND great Love Letters to both original Star Trek and its characters! Always enjoyable watching som Sci-Fi and/or great movie scores with you! Keep it up!
43:51 Mark! 1.6K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! ☺️ Notes: "Netflix" somehow got to show "Star Trek: Prodigy" and so I viewed it! I appreciate these three live-action movies now even more so after seeing that series made for children or young people. 🤔 By that I mean, that I'm disappointed that by the 24th Century in that series and the 23rd Century in this movie trilogy, that more relevance is given to Slanguage than proper grammar! 😳 Bless you Jen Murray for being not just pretty, but also smart and intelligent enough to understand this trilogy as well as the older shows and movies! I'm 59 and I have no problems with the canon (not "cannon") status of them! "Apocrypha" is applied to non-canon stuff like fan-made productions. I can accept alternate timelines and realities and a Multiverse! It is easy for me because I accept the phenomenon known as "The Tommy Westphall Universe"! As anything goes in the imagination of an autistic boy! 🧐
A bittersweet watch, Jen, it's a great film, but we lost, Leonard Nimoy and Anton Yelchin. 💔 I would love to see watch your reaction to more of the original series, please.
26:37 Mark! It isn't a spoiler now to point out that this movie has those that played "Steve Trevor" & "Heimdall" & "Gamora" & Executioner" and the actor from "Third Watch" & "Heroes" who is also in a "Star Wars" movie! 🤔
Jen, I absolutely love how much fun you're having with Star Trek. I was delighted to see this post and get an additional fix of Trek beyond (pun intended) the regular TNG Sunday (although I wish you'd do 2 per week😅). As a child of 1967, I watched the original series in reruns and did enjoy them, although I didn't fully appreciate them until the movies came out. I fully embraced TNG and love rewatching them with you and seeing them through your enjoyment. Can't wait until Sunday. Live Long, and Prosper... Oh, the Vulcan 🖖 is something Nimoy stoll from seeing Jewish Rabi doing during a ceremony. I believe he explained it on a DVD extra somewhere or perhaps it was just an interview. Anyway that's where it comes from. PS: Darn-it, I forgot to add that I also like and appreciate the JJ Abrams series. I don't know if 4 will get done or not. I hope, in one form or the other they do return Star Trek to the big screen.
39:40 I've heard that after Anton Yelchin passed away they did an almost last minute edit, and centered Chekov in the shot. As for everything else about this movie? I loved it. They felt most like the original crew in a new scenario, and I even loved the shout out to Enterprise, the last show before the long wait for new TV shows commenced, because the Franklin feels so much like that show's version of Enterprise that I started singing "Where My Heart Will Take Me" in the middle of the theater.
This is my favorite of the trilogy. It really feels like classic Star Trek, in multiple ways, while being it's own thing. And all of the actors feel like they fully become the characters in this one. The fact that an actual Star Trek fan Directed this one is very obvious. I also loved all of the references to Star Trek: Enterprise, the most underrated of the classic Star Trek shows. **Also Kirk learning, this early in his career that he doesn't want the Admiral position, that he's a captain that needs a ship. Instead of having to go through 4 whole movies to get there. Is awesome.**
17:15 Mark! Someone published a book, a wall poster, and maybe calendars, dedicated to the "History of Ships Named Enterprise" and in that spirit I share this article link with you! 🖖 en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=USS_Franklin&action=edit§ion=0
I'm glad you're so aware of the music of movies. Michael Giacchino is one of the best of the biz. He also did some music for the new Trek shows AND he directed a Short Trek called Ephraim and Dot on Paramount+ which is excellent.
4:45 yeah... uhmm.... trying to un-complicate the complicated here... Sulu's _daughter_ shows up in ST 7 at the the helm of the Enterprise-B, before the encounter with the Nexus. that on-screen event then triggered a fan production called Star Trek Phase II to show an episode where then-Ensign Sulu is time-shifted in a transporter accident and fathers a daughter called Alara. That daughter is killed off, and Sulu is reverted to his younger self. George Takei guest stars as old man Sulu. _off_ that plot point, years later we get another production set in the prime timeline where old Sulu (Takei) talks to his ST7-established daughter Demora about that Phase2-established daughter Alara, which we never saw. since we never saw neither Demora's nor Alara's mother/s (tho they are mentioned in various books), and having Takei coming out as gay after the end of Star Trek, they decided to make _this_ Sulu (alternate) gay. _this_ daughter we see here could either be Demora, OR Alara... fans widely consider her to be Demora since it's the one we've seen in the movie. it's a retroactively-referenced spin-off reference. bordering causality loop. yeah.... Trek is full of those. 5:55 and that officer is Commodore (Admiral?) Paris, which is a reference to Tom Paris from Voyager. this would be this timeline's great-grandmother to Tom, 100 years down the line. her first name is never mentioned, but it would be cool if she was named Miral, after Tom's daughter, which would make her a retroactive reference to _this_ Miral, and ... you get the point.
As a life long Star Trek fan, I will go to my grave saying Beyond is an under-rated movie, and arguably my favorite of the 3 reboot films. It feels authentically Star Trek to me, and the plot actually feels like the Enterprise crew is out there in space doing something for a change. It's almost a shame this wasn't the first one, or at least the second, and that we didn't get more like this. 'Into Darkness' was such a disappointment to me, 'Beyond' is a solid Star Trek movie.
Jen, you look quite fetching in that uniform, it suits you. I enjoyed this movie more than the second one it had the heart the second one was missing. However, I am a Trekkie through and through, and I love them all. Great reaction Jen!
As a fan of the Enterprise tv show, I freaked out when they referenced things from that series. This and the previous movie dont get enough love......quite the opposite actually, but I find them so fun. A fourth movie would be great and it sounds like maybe it might be happening but its been so hard to get that project going from what I hear.
I've had so much fun enjoying your trip down Trek! This movie and the trilogy are such a love letter to TOS. I really adore and miss this crew. I think you'd like 'Star Trek: Enterprise', it's a prequel to TOS and has a great cast and tonally is a nice mix of TOS and TNG. Folks gave it a hard time but have come around to it, as usual. If I may, I'd recommend watching the first two episodes of the pilot (Broken Bow parts 1 and 2) to see how you feel about it. Thank you for sharing your Trek adventures! It's always nice to see nice folks fall in love with stuff you love 🖖🏼😄
I've been watching Trek TOS since the early 70s in syndication as a kid after school, then later in the evenings after the local nightly news (it bounced around over the years). Even so, I enjoyed the 2009 Star Trek. I did not care for "Into Darkness" all that much, but I loved "Beyond". I really do want another movie with this cast. Just a shame that Anton is not with us - that was heartbreaking.
Jen, when you catch up with Next Generation, or skip to the last episodes, then watch the movie Star Trek Generations. (No spoilers ) It might make you sad but has a major plot whole. Have you considered Star Trek Online? It's an okay game and fun but takes dedication. It has awesome stories that has original voice actors. Especially the Victory Is Life chapter for Deep Space Nine. I remember you play Mass Effect, you ever played Dragon Age Origins? I actually got "Superman's" sword.
In a Star Trek collectible card game you have a nice test that say: "Not a psychiatrist, mechanic, cool miner, bricklayer, scientist, physicist, moon shuttle conductor, escalator, magician or fish peddler, just an old country doctor.
I've always said, and maybe I already did to you, but yes, the casting for this was top notch. Quinto as Spock was spot on, Urban as Bones is great. But Pine does such a great job of nailing the Kirk that Shatner did, without doing Shatner. If that makes sense.

@@jenmurrayxo In accordance with the Vulcan principle of IDIC: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.
@@MMuraseofSandvich
Not gonna actually counter ANY of the more common arguments levied against new trek?
Cause it kinda seems like all you're saying is people are wrong (with no evidence) and this has happened before. As if the wrong assessment of one thing in the past inherently means the same applies to other things, no further investigation required... 🤦
I mean, you do realise flaws exist, right?
And as a final thing to take note of;
Our subjective opinions have NEVER actually held the power to dictate reality. (what people think about and used to think about the prequels, is inconsequential) If tomorrow everyone started eating turds on plates, that wouldn't magically make feces a healthy and sustaining meal. Reality simply does not work like that. 😮💨
Same goes for the quality of a work of fiction. People liking or enjoying something is not an actual look at the quality of its construction. So the argument you use here just doesn't work in the way you're trying to use it.
My sister calls the Star Trek reboot "STAR TREK BABIES" à la "Muppet Babies" 😄
I really have to admit Zachary Quinto is just an amazing Spock.
“I have the beat and shouting”. Sabotage is my favorite classical song, next to Christmas splif.👍🏾
He didn't die during filming. He died less than a month before the film was released in theaters. Filming by that time had been over for months.
Yorktown was the name of the original ship in the original pitch for the show.
Fun fact, in the original films the NCC-1701A was the refited USS Yorktown.
_Yorktown._
YEA Jen. I love watching you get so hyped in a reaction video. You are so much fun. Thank You so much
Anton Yelchin's death will forever break my heart.
Same. I really enjoyed his work😔
Yes please watch the entire original series, it's a vibe. Don't forget DSN, Voyager and Enterprise all are worth watching.
And of course the Franklin is very much designed inside and out to be an Enterprise-era ship, including the grey uniforms
As a classic _STAR TREK_ fan, I was quite impressed with how they split this timeline while keeping the original in tact. IMO the _Kelvin Timeline_ concept was inspired.
I agree!
Jen is definitely my kind of nerd. I love her work.
I think any reboot, remake, reimagined of any movie or television the picks up a new fan that enjoys it and perhaps appreciates the originals is worth it.
I agree!
Jen, it's been so fun watching you become a full-fledged Trekie.
It was canceled because Paramount asked the cast to take pay cuts and Pine and Hemsworth said no
Just as well. That sounded like a horrible plot, anyway. Just trying to get blood from the turnip of "daddy issues" character arcs.
@@moondog3056 They know their-WORTH-that's why they said no. Hemsworth had his THOR film series at the time.
@@kerry-j4mthe problem being sometimes paying all the actors their "worth" makes the production too expensive to be profitable. And it does sound like a terrible plot.
7:52 Jen: "We need more Di-Lithium Crystals!"
I would most definitely watch a Star Trek movie with Jen Murray playing the captain of the Enterprise.
I wish!!!
Personally, I can enjoy any version of Star Trek. ✌️
Jen you really surprised me, besides me you are the only other person (that I have spoken to written or verbally) that released the song (I didn't know the name) they used to disrupt the signal was the same song as the boy Kirk was listening to when he stole his stepdads car. You have risen 10 fold in my estimation as a Trekkie/ Trekker. (which ever term you prefer) 💋❤❤❤❤❤
Really? Did everyone you knew just totally forget the first movie? That's.... fascinating
Jen, as always, LOVE YOUR REACTION! And your hand movements on the ending of the StarTrek theme music is very mesmerizing! 😀😀😀
I saw the first movie with the Oregon symphony playing the scores. It was incredible. I love the music in both of these movies.
The Director of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" (Justin Lin) takes Our Favorite Crew on one Wild and Action-Packed Ride😎and of course, I AM HERE FOR IT!👌Good Afternoon Jen💝Thank You so much for watching this one, and I Hope You Enjoyed it as much as I do...👍
The USS Franklin is meant to be from the Star Trek: Enterprise era - the design is very similar to the NX-Refit that was intended to be introduced in the not-filmed 5th season (which was in fact meant to take place during the Romulan War - which is where "Krall" lost his mind). Edit: It's also where the Xindi was a thing - Season 3, basically. No spoilers.
The three in the kelvin timeline this one is my favorite… I could feel your excitement when the beats and shouting dropped with the beastie boys lol
🤘
Man, i wasn't expecting to tear up hearing Anton as Chekov speaking in the end credits, but he was such a great actor and filled the role perfectly.
This is my favorite of the Kelvin movies. The visuals and the score are epic, and the cast is firing on all cylinders here. I'm one of the few that grew up watching TNG when it was new but still like these movies. Good to know that they are still drawing in new fans even 15 years later
Mandalorian reactions coming to UA-cam…. YES PLEASE!😊
At the risk of being a nerd, nobody is sucked into space - they would actuslly be blown into space. Which, one must admit, would still suck.
I'm so glad you've really been enjoying Star Trek, Jen, and there's still so much more. I especially have to agree with you that Karl Urban makes a great Bones. I think they did a great job with the casting in general for this version of the characters. Great reaction!!
The blue uniform suits you, Jen. 🖖 xxxxx
6:01 Mark! Yeah! Okay! She's also in "The Expanse"! I prefer this character! 🖖
I look forward now to viewing your video! 😊
love your love for old and new trek. keep going with all of the shows, there is something to love in all of them. Regardless of what others might say or think.
10:55 Mark! No, whatever it was, wasn't sucked out by an external source or force! It was blown out with the escaping air! 🤓🖖
Yer that would be a good nod to the ST-TOS movies ... I don't want a recast or an off-screen death.
As always a great reaction from you. This isn't one of my favourite Star Trek films, but watching with you makes it much better.
Don't get me wrong Jen, the casting in the new fims was great. The first two they did i like a lot, just this a bit less.
A beat so ILL that it can be weaponized. One of two facts about Sabotage that prove just how awesome it is. (The other fact being that there are action figures for the original music video.)
Love love love Star Trek!!!! Love them all!!!
Jen is too freaking cute, especially when she’s humming the themes.
(Spock has always been my favorite character in all of Trek, and I think Zachary Quinto really nailed the character.)
I'm glad Jen enjoyed them and is enjoying the rest of Star Trek.
Jen to answer your final question, yes please. Add more reactions to the original series episodes to the playlist. 🙂
uniform is definitely cool. and your definitely rocking it 😍🖖🤓
Probably my three most favorite episode from TOS that you have not already watched are:
Gamesters of Triskelion: My favorite overacting by William Shatner
Day of the Dove: Has my favorite line in all of the shows and movies
Patterns of Force: A great commentary on the dangers of trying to use evil for good.
I think you will really enjoy those three. If you have already seen any of these, I missed it.
6:42 Mark! It is cool to see a full-sized starship launch like that rather tiny ones as seen in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and both versions of "Battlestar Galactica"! 🖖
She's such a nerd, and I love it.
Man, imagine being a highly decorated MACO like Edison and protecting the Earth through 2 wars (tho the Xindi war wasn't really a war in the classic sense, so i guess only one) only to be put on an outdated ship and be told to go explore lol.
Thanks for another great reaction, Jen!
🔔 👦 "HEY, YOU GOT JEN MURRAY IN MY STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES!" | 👩 "AND YOU GOT STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES IN MY JEN MURRAY!" | 🤦 "CALM DOWN, YOU TWO. IT'S OBVIOUS WHAT THE ANSWER TO THIS DILEMMA IS: JEN MURRAY HAS TO REACT TO THE REST OF STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES!" 🤗
To answer your question at 16:42, YES!! ALL OF THE YES! Would love to see your Mandalorian reactions come to UA-cam!
"So much drama on this ship"
Yeah! You could even make a TV series out of it xDD
6:35 Hey, there's the cute couple from earlier during Kirk's log, on the left! Never noticed them before now.
Notes: "Netflix" somehow got to show "Star Trek: Prodigy" and so I viewed it! I appreciate these three live-action movies now even more so after seeing that series made for children or young people. 🤔 By that I mean, that I'm disappointed that by the 24th Century in that series and the 23rd Century in this movie trilogy, that more relevance is given to Slanguage than proper grammar! 😳
Bless you Jen Murray for being not just pretty, but also smart and intelligent enough to understand this trilogy as well as the older shows and movies!
I would love to see watch your reaction to more of the original series, please.
PS:
Darn-it, I forgot to add that I also like and appreciate the JJ Abrams series.
Great reaction and you look amazing in the uniform. I did grow up with the original and yes, I loved these ones also.
i loved this film. Carl Urban played a fantastic Bones. Thought Jayla was amazing as well.
I think watching Star Trek TOS would be fantastic...From," Where No Man Has Gone Before " ,to ," Turnabout Intruder".
Make some popcorn. :)

I'm glad you're so aware of the music of movies. Michael Giacchino is one of the best of the biz. He also did some music for the new Trek shows AND he directed a Short Trek called Ephraim and Dot on Paramount+ which is excellent.
Great reaction Jen as always, love the uniform and yes, i would watch your Mando reactions. 👍💯

yeah... uhmm.... trying to un-complicate the complicated here...
5:55
and that officer is Commodore (Admiral?) Paris, which is a reference to Tom Paris from Voyager.
this would be this timeline's great-grandmother to Tom, 100 years down the line.
her first name is never mentioned, but it would be cool if she was named Miral, after Tom's daughter, which would make her a retroactive reference to _this_ Miral, and ... you get the point.
I happy when You Tubers show Star Trek wear the suit. I salute you.
This is my favourite of the reboot movies, purely because it seems to capture the relationship of the three more authentically.
Favorite NuTrek film
On Leonard nimoys tombstone are words that Kirk said at spocks funeral in star trek 2.
Jen, you look quite fetching in that uniform, it suits you. I enjoyed this movie more than the second one it had the heart the second one was missing. However, I am a Trekkie through and through, and I love them all. Great reaction Jen!
Karl Urban is perfect as McCoy, and Krall is Idris Elba.
Lmao when she said "HEART!" I thought of captain olanet lmao
"You want me to do WHAT?"
Poor Bones.
6:42 Mark! Jen, I'm not looking at the credits now. But when you read them, you can clarify of it is "Spock Prime" or "Prime Spock", right? 🤔🖖
I'm older and enjoy these immensely... you're reactions to these are wonderful kid😃👍🌹

Yes, bring them to UA-cam!
I've always said, and maybe I already did to you, but yes, the casting for this was top notch. Quinto as Spock was spot on, Urban as Bones is great. But Pine does such a great job of nailing the Kirk that Shatner did, without doing Shatner. If that makes sense.
