Concorde was the most successful SST
Though it wasn’t as economical or fuel efficient.
It was the OY one built and put into actual service. If American Congress allowed Boeing 2707 and Lockheed L-2000 it would be a much better world today . Lockheed had better easy to build and less expensive design
Super Sonic Travel?
@@georgevavoulis4758
"...and that's where Lockheed" has never been more fitting, *they get things done* .
@@adastra7939 It was glamorous
The VC10 was much quicker than that even at 45,000 ft in a cyclone over Java.
I didn't even know the DC-8 flew supersonic
It once did
@@greenesyt563 yes, during a test flight in a nosedive.
Dam
It effectively didn’t.
5:45 Who could have known that the DC-8 was this fast!
Provided, that it was!
Боинг 2707 и Локхид 2000 никогда не существовали и не летали. Так что я думаю ту 144 был и остается самым быстрым пассажирским самолетом.
First! Also really nice vid
Hardly anything in this video is correct and many were never built. Claptrap!
A380 -Mach 0.96.... What drugs are you on.......
The A380 can go 1185.41 km/h, which is roughly mach 0.96. You’re the one on drugs here
@@sierra6993 Official Aitbus figure Mach 0.85
@@atilllathehun1212 that’s the cruising speed, this video is about max speed
@@sierra6993 1185.41 kmph is just the ground speed you're the one with drugs
@@atilllathehun1212 0.85 is the normal cruising speed and 0.89 is the mmo.
Convair 880 did not have pods on top of the wings, only the 990 did.
The DH.121 Trident was introduced with a Mno of 0.88 with a critical Mach number of 0.93. The VC10 normally cruised at .84 however in RAF service, 0.94 was achievable if you were not concerned about fuel consumption.
That’s cool!
Concorde❤
Some people here seem confused let me clear this up, most of the fastest that these planes have flown is because of crashes, steep stalls, etc.
很👍的影片🎉🎉😊😊
The A330-200 and the G550 MMO (top speed)is 0.86 and 0.88 respectively and even the 737-800 it’s one I fly irl and it’s 0.82. stopped to watch the video at that point
At least because it set several speed records, the 707 should be mentioned and it cruised at Mach 0.9ish, putting it in the second highest tier as shown.
the video was good but I missed the embraer planes.
A330-200's cruise speed is Mach 0.82.
The convair and vc10 were two of the fastest non supersonic jets.
Nice 😍 video
Thanks 🤗
You might want to check the passenger figures on the Trident 2e.
where are embraer models?
So it seems the Tupolev Tu-144 is the fastest passenger plane to date.
Concorde reached a top speed more than that, but it was only during tests. They limited the speed to mach 2.04 for maximum efficiency and save on fuel over trans-atlantic crossing. TU-144 only wanted the first place on the top speed list but Concorde aim was to maximise efficiency. Boeing 2707 could've been faster but they found that it was not going to be a sustainable investment and invested the money in the 747 program which has been a great success and that was one of the best decisions they ever made.
@@busofmauritius8306And I’d assume that because the 2707 was originally proposed to have swing wings, it would be a maintenance nightmare similar to the F-14, but several times larger
The Bombardier Global 8000 is missing. It's the fastest business jet to date. It's capable of cruising at MACH 0.94. In flight testing it went beyond MACH 1.
Just like all of your other videos this one's amazing and i really got to learn more about the fast airliners!!! But you forgot to include the Ye-115 (MiG-25 business jet)
Can you please include real life pictures next to the planes or beside the text??? Pleaseee
@MASOL you can’t put pictures on UA-cam comments
The subsonic passenger ever bulir plane was the Convair 990A Coronado
My father always told the story he once was crusing at high altitude, and the plane - in a particular circunstance - aproached very close to sound speed. The plane start shaking !! - those planes are not projected to do it - the structure eventually colapse. He had to slow the throtles
The top row only has three real operational aircraft. The others are proposed or cancelled projects, so not valid entries on this list.
Real fight simulator should add the DC-8
Amazing man
That was awesome bro coool
Thanks
Thank you too! 😁
@@AmazingVizthis video you made is complete BS. Most of the speeds are completely incorrect.
I didn't like. Embraer aircraft are not present 🇧🇷. And look, there are many models...
0:24 did they just copy the 757
I wish the SST programs stuck around, would have been interesting to see other SST entries in operation. Maybe by 2030 a new generation of SSTs will be in operation...
The reason there is not any Embraer models here (I saw the comments) is most likely due to them being small and or being of similar and same speed. It wouldn’t make sense if they were included. That’s like including every single jet aircraft in this vid, just too much content for this quick video
the SCA (747-100) pictured could not do M 0.92, it was actually significantly slower than a standard 747-100 which I believe had a maximum cruise speed of M 0.83 in pretty much every variant. Are these figures the max design speeds or the critical mach number (not to exceed speed)?
👍
Convair 990A
I presumed you meant planes which were or had been in service and not just someone's idea.
V C 10 ,elegant fast ,class
🚀
Convair 880ft !!! O Elvis Presley sabia disso...😂
How about the 747SP?
I came here for Concorde
Fun fact: air Koryo is the last airline to use the ilyushin il-62M
By far the fastest is the Concorde. It was the safest way to travel super sonic.
The Convair 990s actual top speed was mach 0.87
Surely a passenger plane needs to have carried fee paying passengers ?? Otherwise by the definition of a plane and a passenger the shuttle would be the fastest passenger plane as it flew, had wings and carried passengers other than the pilot ? Some of these are concepts
Where is Boeing 720? Quicker than DC-8. For DC-8 you included the top speed ever reached. Concorde top speed ever reached was mach 2.19.
French air force presentation?
I wish Boeing 2707 SST would have took flight, it would be a passenger F 14 tomcat.
It's missing several other airplanes, such as some regional jets.
Why include aircraft that were never built? It makes no sense when the title is 'Fastest Passenger Planes of All Time' and not 'Fastest Passenger Planes of All Time including those never built'.
How fast is the Tupelev Tu-104
is this measured by airspeed or groundspeed
You show a 990 for the 880 image and the 990 is faster than the 727...where did you get your data and fact checking?
Several of these were paper aeroplanes that never flew so did M0.0 (e,g, Boeing SST). Concorde was M2.02, not 2.04. And the DC8 supersonic? Don't be silly! What about the Trident and VC10?
4:35 , the 747-1 carried the space shuttle???
Where are Airbus 320, Embraer, Bombardier etc....?
The fast of all...the USS Enterprise NCC-1701D had a maximum speed of warp 9.2...
Yeah, but that’s not real. All of the ones in here are either real or proposed designs
I got fed up with this , so skipped forward , but I thought the VC10 and DC 8 had gone Supersonic or very close on dives . A;so weren’t the Convair Jetliners the fastest of their time Aldo approaching Mach 1
tu154m M0.82-0.83
the g550 flies way faster than mach 0.76. you have underreported most of these airliners speeds.
HS121 Trident only takes 19 passengers? It has more windows than seats.
Cadê o cace 370.
planes that never flew shouldn't be on the list.
Ops e cace 360, eu acho😅😅😅
Why include aircraft that never flew?
Evergreen 747 am I joke to you
Tu-154M ❤️🔥❤️🩹🤍
A DC8 mat Mach 1. Thats guaranteed to rip the wings off.
Of academic interest as today speed is limited by ATC requirements. Only if your aircraft can cruise higher than 45000 feet can you exceed about M.84.
Not so, above 10,000 feet, you can go as fast as you are permitted by ATC. Even below 10,000 feet, 250 kts is "flexible" as you can be given an unrestricted departure. A DC-8 in a dive would experience mach buffet but the wings would probably keep pace with the rest of the aircraft.
There is no M.84 max speed. You can fly whatever u want above 10000 ft. (Subsonic speeds)
A few 'wishful thinking' planes in there at the top. Also, Concorde did the job;Tu-144 didn't. Great video, all the same. Thanks.
1:04 :..... 1771.....
Tu-154 - 0.86M
787 and A350?
Mach 1 for the DC-8 ? You smoke drug ?
Wikipedia 😂
@@AmazingViz on Wikipedia I see 946 km/h (Mach 0,77)
The DC8 is the only passenger airliner known to have genuinely broken the sound barrier. This was an actual event, not a myth. True, this happened on a flight with no passengers and was achieved while the aircraft was in a shallow dive from a high altitude, the sound barrier was nonetheless broken and the aircraft flew faster than sound for 16 seconds before they pulled out of the dive and resumed normal flight parameters.
@@datathunderstorm not the only passenger airliner, they are Concorde and Tu-144. But this is the only who wasn't made for supersonic flight
@@datathunderstorm Most aircrafts can break the sound barrier in a dive. This shouldn't be considered in this list as other aircrafts here have their top speed that can be achieved consistently in a leveled flight under typical operational load and conditions!
We’re you drunk when you collated these facts?
2:55 Ada maskapai indo ges 😮
BTW TU-154 M 0.88 not 0.77
Dc-8, hmmmmmmmm
787 leave the chat
There are slower classes than this with prop planes
787 mach 0.90
America has the best passenger planes, Europe is not even close.
Bro is really expecting to be taken seriously💀
That´s why Airbus is taking over. You forgot to mention the 737 Max btw
ту 134 забыл
A380 Mach 0.96 and a Mach 1.0 DC-8 ???????????
Just comment
I have a question,what is that MACH and 1Mach=? km 💀
This is the true sonic speed at flight altitude. At see level 1224 km/h, at 11 000 m - 1062, up to 20000 m.
Interesting that you include 3 aircraft which have never existed, which renders the whole exercise a total waste of time.
Airbus is missing.
Some of these figures are not correct
ada indonesia cuyy
Embraer??????
Technically the fake concorde won (you know which one i mean)
Because the top 2 where never built
Is the Boeing 2707 still in a church?
5:04 REALLY???!!!🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
😂😂
I knew it, I knew the A380 is the fastest non-SST of all time! The DC-8 doesn't really count because it only broke the sound barrier while in a dive!
That is the theoritical structural speed; meaning at what speed the structure can withstand before it destroys itself. The true level flight speed is far lower, it shouldn't even be on the list
@@emmanuelatiegha9049 Then why do I see A380s on flight trackers indicating their "TAS" as those speeds for hours on end?
Unless of course every flight tracker I've ever used was broken to the point that they nearly always glitched out.
Wait, if my flight trackers are indeed faulty, then why do pilots and aerospace engineers always tell me that the A380 flies at those speeds when I ask them to give me its true specs?
I guess they could all be blatantly lying to me, but why would they feel the need to lie?
Okay, I could've just misunderstood what they said meaning that they weren't lying at all.
So asked for very precise clarification and I asked if I was interpreting what they were saying correctly. They said I understood them spot on, some even said I got an A+ on my understanding of what they relayed to me.
I just don't understand...
Dc-8 was that fast
No Embraer in the list???
