Years of experience with War thunder and modern warships help me a lot
Dude, same
@Waldemar Alveland I have been flying DCS since 2005, so yea that helped a lot.
I was like: Flown that, flown that one, shot that one down, flown that, shot one of those down ... :))
DUDE SAME
Ikr
Mario C XD you aren't the only one here who play Warthunder. I play it a lot too you know. What's you ignore we should play sometime
Playing a lot of Ace Combat back in the day really helped with this one.

That Tejas got me 😅
same
me too
Thank you
me too :D
Yeah it looked weird
I think delta carnard jets would confuse us the most.
Yes
What about the mig25 and mig31 💀
@@fenix2-222 iirc Mig-31's engines are longer than 25's, with the 31's nozzles extending almost past the horizontal stabilizers
@@fenix2-222 I could tell those apart for some reason. Thought the mig-35 was a mig-29 tho
@@nem1 Same! I was so sure too! 😅
10:14 the model isn't a Sea Harrier, that's a British Aerospace Harrier II (Looks most like a GR.7 to me)
I caught that one too and called it as correct on my score. Definitely a GR7
Harrier GR.5 the GR.7 has a longer nose.
@@edwinramirez7777 It is a GR.7 or Gr.9. FLIR on top and twin antennas below. Edit, it is a GR.9, additional air intakes on top of the wing.
I thought GR9. Regardless though as absolutely not a Sea Harrier.
I have a suspicion that it was added by AV to generate comments and feed the UA-cam algorithm though....which I've just fallen into the trap of 😂
@@mickhall88 You are right of course, it is a GR.9, I missed the two intakes on the wings. The trap worked on me too 😅
Got a 27 out of 30. It certainly was a difficult test, but easy if you know the outlines of these aircraft. Thanks👍😀 We need more, probably one featuring tanks
Got the same score. The silhouettes of some wings and engines really stumped me 😂
helps when you know other countries aircraft, i didnt know swedish and indian
got the same score
Same here. 27 took one Chinese for Gripen, couldn't recognise the second Chinese and took Foxhound for a Foxbat. Other than that, easy.
@@krzysztofkuza4228 I almost went with the gripen on the j10 aswell. The canards look so similar. It was the leading edge of the wing that gave it off for me
Out of the first 10 I mistook the SU-27 for the SU-35 but that’s difficult because they look almost identical from a top down silhouette. Other than that, the J10 and that large delta wing.
Got the freaking lot of them. My plane-nerd cred is intact! The Hornet looked a bit off, with the Sidewinder rails extending way back on the trailing edge.
Yeah I agree it looks too chunky and too wide in the silhouette and the model it has a narrow rear section
@@rhysbrown8259 oh hey Rhys !!!
@@taktischesgenie331 howdy!!
Yeah that's what threw me off on the F/A-18. I swear that plane looked a heck of a lot more like the F-18 we see in TG:M, but I guess it doesn't quite.
The canard on j20 is off too
Depending on how strict you are I either got 28/30 or 30/30, I thought the Tornado was an IDS ground attack variant (the hint further solidifying this idea as the GR1s role in Desert Storm is infinitely more well known) and the Mig-35 being confused for the more common Mig-29. (However, the 35 still uses the 'fulcrum' designation.)
That flag you have there is trash and mental sickness
The channel is actually incorrect on a few of these.
The Tornado ADV was used in Operation Desert Storm, but didn't have a major role since F-15s flew the majority of the mig caps and claimed most of the kills. The ground attack Tornado squadrons suffered the heaviest losses of the war.
The SU-27 was actually an SU-30
The F-4E, was painted up like a US Navy F-4B (the Navy never flew the E).
The
the su 27 was a su 27, the su 30 has canards which the 27 doesn't and the video never said F-4E, it just said F-4 phantom II
@@OscarZheng50 not all two seat versions of the SU-27/30 family have canards. The SU-27PU (also considered a SU-30 variant) and some SU-30M variants don't have them.
@@ironroad18 the only su 30s without canards are the plaaf's su 30MKK and india's su 30MK but the hint was a russian flag and russia's su 30s do have canards and how is the su 27PU related with the su 30, it don't got thrust vectoring or canards, just another variant of the su 27 family and it legit got su 27 in its name
26 out of 30, didn't know the Indian HAL Tejas jet and made some confusion between some 70's Russian jets who have very similar silhouettes. I have some ideas for more complicated planes (pilot training jets...). Nice!
Same score, and same problem with me. But I also had some trouble on the swedish jets too. High five!
Bro, tejas is just a junk, not a fighter jet at all, JF 17 is far better than this one.
That wasn't very easy, I found around 12 but it's a very welcome new touch to the channel.
Do more!
Definitely a skill issue I got 29/30.
Indian jet threw me off.
@@crazycontraptions1249 i only didnt know j10
@Crazy Contraptions wow did you just throw a dig in over a quiz?
@@johnm3907 Yes lol. I am petty and had a few minutes spare so I decided to use them in the worst way possible by making someone else feel bad because their plane knowledge is inferior to mine.
@@crazycontraptions1249 HAL Tejas was the only one that threw me too.
I knew all of them except the Tejas. The J-10 was tricky, as I first assumed it's a Gripen but then remembered that the Gripen has side mounted air intakes.
Great video. Was hoping I would see my fav plane ever and you guys didn't disappoint! YF-23!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
@@AmazingViz we need another super difficult one
Black Widow...I really love this fighter =)
Got 29/30 missing only the Tejas. The MiG-31 was tough though because it's hard to tell the difference between it and the MiG-25 on which is it derived.
Easiest to tell is how I was told when I went through air order of battle training - it's all in the rear. ;) MiG-25 has an inset pair of afterburners and MiG-31 hangs out past the horizontal stabilizers.
The clue was a picture of a dog. MiG-31 Foxhound. They should have used a picture of a bat for the MiG-25.
The best way to remember is that Peter Belenko flew a Mig 25 to Japan fir the allies to inspect, but Clint Eastwood had to steal a Mig 31😅
The 31 is thiccer lol; for the lack of a better term.
@@twinblade02 And they generally look pretty different too.
27. The J10, Super Hornet and that sneaky Mig 35 got me. Though you could put a shot of a Mig 29 and 35 side by side and I'd just say they were the same picture!
Nice little test. It got the brain ticking over on a lazy Sunday morning.
Yea MiG-29 vs 35 also got me like F/A-18 / Super Hornet, J10 and that HAL Tejas :D So i guess 26/30, fun test ;)
Mig 29 and 35 are the same planes. Only the electronics are different
The model was way off on that Hornet, it was listed as a Legacy hornet but the LEXes were shaped incorrectly and the engines seem too widely spaced. It's also not a Super Hornet since those have an extremely wide and sharply curved LEX, and a prominent protruding slat on the outer folding wing leading edge
😊glad you include my favorite one: Panavia Tornado
Got em' all, my Ace Combat experience is paying off.
I love how the caption for the F-14 was just lyrics to Kenny's "Danger Zone"
30/30, for the Tejas i first thought it was an Avro Vulcan then i realised that Vulcans got multiple engines. I also got a little confused on the Tornado if it was the F or the Gr variant. And the Mig-35 was a little bit tricky because it got a similiar tail just like the Mig-29KR. got it nonetheless.
Damn, you know your stuff! I totally missed the Tejas, and I derped on the MiG thinking it aas a MiG-29 too, but I still counted it lol
@@rudysmith1445 Yeah, lucky that these were all mil-planes, i would have a 30 if the damn quiz was about helos
Ok, this was really fun! Please more of this!
I want to thank Tom Clancy's HAWX, War Thunder and Arma 3 RHS mod
Only messed up the J-10 as it sorta looks similar to the Gripen
got 30 out of 30
wow let's make more of this ❤
I really enjoyed it
30/30, playing warthunder, watching aviation movies, playing ace combat and making aircraft papermodels helped me
I was waiting for the gripen to show up XD
Great video I had a lot of fun!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁😁
Can't wait for more like this ❤❤
Really cool challenge and great video. Can't wait for more like this as well!
*I can thank War Thunder and history for my knowledge!*
Please do more of these with other aircraft types!
Me being history buff and military lover helps me alot
30/30 pls keep making these that was fun
4:31 xDDD the five operational Su-57
2:10 Truly surprised and honoured to see an F-16 with our Black Knights colour scheme. The F-16s have truly played a crucial role in our country’s defence and there’re no jets quite like them.
same bro i am surprised the Singapore kindness cub is there to accompany joe biden
K I N D N E S S
wait a min i dont think thats joe...
Thank you for the video! Can you consider doing other episodes, for example with helicopters, transport aircraft, or even armoured vehicles?
Frikking J-10 and Tajas killed me!
This not a sea harrier it's a gr9 harrier raf😢
28 out of 30 or 26 out of 30 depending on how strict you are being, having the MIG-31 and MIG-25 up there was a bit tricky as well as having the MIG-35 up there and no MIG-29. I consder the MIG-35 to be a larger MIG-29 so I counted it and seeing the relationship between the MIG-25 and MIG-31 I counted it as well.
I had zero clue on the Tejas, as I had no idea it even existed. The only ones that confused me were the original F/A-18, the MiG 35, the J-10, and the Su-27. I totally thought the 27 was the Su-35S, considering its lack of canards that the other Su-30 variants have. I was under the impression that the 27 had canards originally. And I swear the F/A-18 had perpendicular trailing edges to the fuselage, and that's what got me on it. That and the wingtip hardpoints which extended behind the wings.
As for the MiG 25 and 31, you can discern their types by how thicc they are. The Foxhound is quite a bit thicker and heftier than the Foxbat, plus it just has slightly smoother lines to it.
@@NexeL_NKC I think confusing any of the flankers is fair game after all this is a silhouette test. The Tejas I completely forgot about.
@@NexeL_NKC The PU prototype variant had canards, then was designated the Su-33 once it was chosen as the primary fighter for the carrier fleet.
@@NexeL_NKCyou're correct that F-18 model is way off, it's accurate for neither the legacy nor Super Hornet. The LEXes are not the correct shape for either model, and the engines seem spaced wider apart as well
All of them... Some of us need something more difficult 😅. Thanks! Great video
You're welcome! 😁😁
26 - thought that the MiG-35 is a MiG-29 (forgivable) - and I thought that the MiG-31 was a MiG-25 (well - didn’t paid attention for the hint). Worst: thought that the Su-27 was the MiG-29...
The Russian planes were difficult to guess to be honest
yea many of their fighters have similar silhouette
@@mateuszburda6256 I literally don't know the difference between mig-29 and 35...
@@okay4902 youre not the only one who doesn't see it ;)
@@mateuszburda6256 The wings, the mig 35 has that bent wing shape, but the mig 29 has straight wings
@@okay4902 the WSO seat
27(28)/30, guessed Mirage III for the 2000 and was completely confused by the J-10; I know it it by name, but don't think I ever noticed it was delta-winged before today. Like many people, I said MiG-29 instead of 35, but I'm counting that one. As an aside, I feel using the reporting name for the Su-34's hint made it too easy
I said Gripen instead of the J10 lol
Totally agree with you on the Su-34 thing, it is called a fullback most of the time so it was basically free points.
That was a really good vid/quiz
I had to learn that many years ago when I served at the German Bundeswehr in an antiaircraft unit. Never thought I had any use for that knowledge ever in my life. 😂
This was easy for me
Same
Me too😊
29 out of 30: I got the Foxhound mixed up with the Foxbat, embarassingly... Honestly aside from that I had a harder time understanding a lot of the hints XD
yeah i pretty much had to ignore the hints for the most part
I loved the "danger zone" hint haha :)
Much better test than some of the other ones I've seen. i personally got 25/30. This one actually had some hard ones like the J-10 (i don't know my Chinese jets very well) and i thought the MiG-35 was the MiG-29, as they use a similar fuselage. Great test!
Glad you liked it! 🫰😁
Next tank
3:42 9/10 (Failed to think HAL Tejas)
7:11 18/20 (I was disguised by MiG-35 with MiG-29 kekw)
10:56 27/30 (Same happened between the MiG-31 and MiG-25 XDDD)
I think we'd all agree that the mig-35/29 one shouldn't count against you
28/30. Almost the same as me, for the same reasons. The MiG 31 hint had a dog though. Hound = Foxhound.
mig 29 and mig 35 is the same google it
exactly the same here except that I didn't recognized the J-10...Mig-35 and Mig-31 are absolutly mean because they look exactly like Mig-29 and Mig-25
Nice interactive video!!!
Thank you very much! 😁😁
Plane detection: piece-of-cake. Hint solution: state-of-the-art!
I got all of them except for the J-10, because I don't keep trash in mind.
I suggest "tank silhouette" video.
Great video. Thanks.
29/30. The J-10 got me, thought it was the Saab Gripen
I questioned my teachers and they need me to answer, nice job!
Great video aircraft silhouette recognition , next do helicopters then vehicles
I would make more of this if I were you because I loved it.
Reading my plane Encyclopedia helped me
Year of ace combat tunnel run is finally payed off
Nice video, full score here...
Thank you 👍
Ok I think I got 28/30. I love the concept, make another !
Great video could you do bombers next?
The Flanker family is the most difficult to tell apart.
Russians like to use a different naming scheme than western aircraft annoyingly. If the US made the SU33 for example it'd be SU-27C or something to that effect. All their different export models don't help the equation either.
Su-27/30/33/35/37 series have a very big family tree, hard to tell them apart except if you are a Flanker expert.
25/30. The MiG and Su profiles are so close. I need to study more!
27/30, I thought the MiG 35 silhouette was a MiG 29. The fact that the test was mostly fighters helped a lot! Much love!
Finally a challenge for me
The hint for the Su-34 was literally it's NATO name 😂😂 good video tho 👍🏾
30/30 many years as an aviation enthusiast and some planes have a very characteristic silhouette =)
28 out of 30. Forgot the hal tejas exists and got confused on one of the hornet varients
THIS WAS FUN!!!!
22/30, good fun, do more!
Cool
26 our of 30 - I have a gripe with the legacy Hornet silhouette, helped me realize it was the Super Hornet, though. lol
That MiG 35 was cheeky. Plane looks so similar to the 29
29 of 30. All except the Tejas '^^ Loved that both the Draken & Viggen where in the list. ^^
27 out of 30 the tejas, the MiG 35, and the J-10 got me
28/30 Tejas and J-10 got me. Thought the J-10 was a Gripen.
The Hints are so good🤣
Got 22! no bad i think.
Please do one for WW2 fighter planes!
Same
Thought I was an expert, but guessing with the silhouette is not as easy as I expected !
I can't believe I got a 27/30, I'm just seriously getting into aviation so I'm proud to recognize these amazing machines.
The Mirage tripped me up (I picked III), and I've never heard of a Tejas. That one got me. Also failed completely on the two Chengdus. Not bad but I expected better
Seeing so many of you are infallible…How did you identify: 1) Mirage 2000 from Mirage III? 2) SU-27 from any of the other SU-27 derived fighters without canards? 3) MiG-35 from MiG-29? 4) Hornet from Super Hornet from the top-down silhouettes provided? 5) Sea Harrier from Harrier? Kudos as well on the Chinese fighters.
For me the big tell on the Mirage is that the air inlets are more prominent of the III, while they're closer to the wing root on the 2000. I think that has to do more with a larger wing on the 2000 than the intakes being drastically further forward on the III, but either way it's a noticeable effect imo
The Hornet model is just off, though. The LEX in this video isn't shaped correctly for either model. On the legacy it's a complex double curvature that comes to a fairly sharp point, and on the super hornet the LEX is extremely wide with a single long curve. On top of that the engines seem too far apart- they and the exhaust nozzles are directly beside each other. IRL the aft fuselage is slightly narrower than the LEXes on the the legacy, and far narrower on the Super
F-18 twice caught off guard, 20/30
Same here
I thought the Mig-35 was a 29, which is understandable as their silhouettes are only slightly different and up until this video I was unaware of the difference. I wasn't sure with the Mig-31 whether it was that or the 28 because I couldn't remember the NATO name. Everything else I got.
I got a 27 out of 30, very good challenge, please do more of these challenge in the future.
The hint for the F 14 made it stand out
20/30 you got me with a couple of those Chinese copies and older European fighters.
the airframe here are easily noticable
but for flankers are gonna be a bit harder and the delta wing aircrafts too
good video idea
Many many thanks 😁
24/30 😉
Thanks for this though.
29/30. The HAL Tejas caught me off guard.
AmazingViz, make a video about conspiracy and secret flying machines like TR-3B Astra, Third Reich UFOs and the like, would be interesting
Except Hal Tejas and one Chengdu i hit all of them :)
28/30, not bad. I got confused with the Viggen and, surprisingly, the F18
28/30 the J10 and Tejas got me
i'll wait for the tanks silhouette
How about challenge about ships and submarines? That would be interesting
Bro I kinda miss the Gripen...
Still got the Vigget and the Draken though.
This video proves how little I know about fighters lol
Missed the Tejas but got all the others
The test wasn’t that difficult. I did mess up on two of the Saabs and the J 10 just because of lack of familiarity. But kind of pulling at strings the F 15 you posted was actually the twin seater strike eagle.
