So good to hear you enjoyed it brother 😎 would love to see some of the lateral line boats being sold 🙏 be so good to see a few out and about 😁 chur chur for the comment 👍
You folks down south really know how to build some solid boats. I saw my first real life stabicraft rolling down the highway up here in the states this spring and it was a thing of beauty. I live in the land of rivers and fishing oriented jet boats but the builders here favor full length lateral stringers which saves on material and lightens the boat. However, I've heard numerous stories of stress cracks forming in the hull around these stringers as a result of the stress riser they create. Keep on setting that bar and maybe one day us american boys will catch on.
There are definitely some amazing boats created in New Zealand. Marco boats are built with full length stringers also but I haven’t heard of one cracking? I would guess/assume that they didn’t have enough or strong enough stringers if they were cracking? Stringers are obviously a very crucial part of the boat 🤪😂 Thanks heaps for watching and taking the time to comment 😎😁👍
@TheLateralLine I think it's because they you two very tall stringers that also support the entire deck, then terminate ubrupty into the curve of the bow. Great for disturbing the motor load since they are welded into the transom but concentrate the the bow stress. Typically isn't an issue until you hit a rock of beat the bow into big wind chop for a few years. I digress. Bottom line is the way you guys stack a couple dozen deck risers off the heavy hat track is a much better design and if I ever get the itch to build one myself, I will totally got the that route, even if it is a bit more material and a lot more time.
Wow you guys never fail to get better each time.....as an occasional lure builder myself I really can appreciate the quality of NaCl lures and that boat is sic
I could see this kinda boat do well on the great lakes and northern lakes of the USA. Lots of people like tin boats up north because of the rocks in the lakes etc. Also the price has to be right because alot of ppl are tired of the super high boat prices in the USA atm. It has to be cheaper than a LUND. if i was a dealer id give you guys a chance. i might even mention it to my dealer friends. Interesting boat GL.
Chur chur for the mention brother 😎 that’s awesome 😁 I totally understand your comments around costs of boats, it’s gone crazy 😳 but it is what it is. The materials needed to create these boats have risen considerably recently and everybody involved in the build process needs to make a living. The boats cost what they cost to create and I guess it’s up to the consumer to determine wether the cost is equal to its worth and buy it or not? If we weren’t creating the lateral line we couldn’t afford a boat. Thanks for watching 😎😁👍
What an awesome boat and a talented bloke. Those handmade lures are a work of art! Tell me that tent has electric rams to open it, that would be awesome!
I live right in the zone for a boat like this. It’s called the big three in Muskoka Canada , you should get into contact with Stanley boats parry sound. They are aluminum builders in the area. Been waiting to see the finished weapon, and boy oh boy was it worth waiting for. Absolutely amazing rig from top to bottom, many thanks for sharing the journey.
Only 2 concerns with that boat which wont occur in the calm waters shown in the video..... banging in choppy conditions sending people to a chiropractor, broaching in a choppy following sea. Offshore conditions have swell, current, wind chop etc ..... generally the flatter the bottom & more beamy, the more bang....hence deeper "V" boats to cut through .... but lets see because it's a new thing.
Hi Eric, very good points and we won't know 100% till we do get it in some bigger conditions but for a bit of context around our comments about being happy with its performance, 1st it is only a 5m boat, it shouldn't really be out in huge seas but if you get caught in those conditions you need to feel safe getting home and 2nd, we have been doing this for nearly a few decades now, having tested a lot of boats on the lake we are fairly in tune with how small things feel and what they translate to in open ocean, while we still have a bit to learn for sure, the boat surprised us by having none of the bad traits we thought it might have (like porpoising we thought would be a big one but it was mint) and when cutting back through wakes it was much softer than we expected.
There is a big sheet of plastic going on the bow very soon. I think the plank would be a bit dangerous if there was any swell around? 🧐 boat comes in on the up swell, anglers jump and then the boat is in full reverse on the down swell. Chur chur for watching 😁👍
@@TheLateralLine I was thinking about a flexible plank, perhaps even with a railing for unloading when the swell permits. If there's swell around, jumping is still an iffy proposition at best. Always look forward to your adventures! Tight lines!
