Picked up *Phenomenon* 180 Gram last year . Loved Lights Out and started getting into UFO with their live Strangers in the Night , back when double lives were becoming popular. Yup, I'm an old fart who loves straight ahead rock&roll. Thank you Paul for giving people like me/us , places to gather & go too. _rip_
My first ever gig was UFO at the Edinburgh Odeon in January 1980. It was fantastic. They were such a great band both live and in the studio. Paul Raymond was a big part of their sound. RIP Paul.
Many years ago, I was lucky enough to take a close-up picture of him and Pete Way at the Orpheum Theatre, Boston Massachusetts. They had Paul Chapman in the band. Great Show.
If true,,, this is one of the last of our true musicians. He was just as good with MSG.Times are changing. We are losing extremely great players from a time when rock was at its extreme best.No one will ever top the sixties seventies and eighties rock and music scenes. It is priceless.Lets all not forget it.
The man who virtually wrote the book on being a combined keyboard/guitar player in a rock band - and a great influence on me since the late 70's.... 73 is no age to go. So sad. I'll miss you Paul.
Without a doubt !! They complemented each other on that live album From Moog’s lyrics,Andy on drums to Pete on bass Paul on keyboards and Rhythm guitar to Schenker’s hard driving solos on every song on this recording !! Pick any song Lights out,Let it roll,Doctor Doctor and so on,Paul was instrumental in this sound oh let’s not forget Love to Love !! Rest In Peace Paul and Thank You for the music !!
RIP, Paul. I first became a fan when you were with Savoy Brown, also Plastic Penny. Really love your UFO years. This saddens me to be writing this. I agree with another person, you were the missing key to UFO success. You will be missed...
As I find myself growing older and older it's really hard watching some of the greats pass. Paul was definitely one of them. And unfortunately more to come. One day when I pass I hope I will be able to meet and talk with some of the greats. RIP Paul. On a good note. I will be seeing Shenker tomorrow night in Sacramento
A nice tribute. I shall miss Raymond. He was an exceptional keyboardist and no slouch on guitar either; the perfect foil for those lead players he supported. Rest easy Paul. 🙏
I saw him on the 20th March in Belfast..he played wonderfully and it just feels so sad and unreal. Thanks for the music and the memories RIP Paul Raymond a true maestro.
I was just listening to Rock Bottom from SITN for the 200th time last week. While we all know Schenker's work on it. I made my wife stop to listen to focus on what Paul Raymond was doing. Brilliant.
Mind blowing...UFO wouldn't have reached it's level of success if it weren't for Paul's contribution to the band. He was a very talented and creative guy. RIP Paul!
RIP Paul! So sad to hear as I've been a fan since 1981 when I first heard the album The Wild, The Willing, and The Innocent. I then proceeded to buy their older albums and kept up until the late 80s. I'm also a big fan of Michael Schenker and Paul did a great job with him.
Very sad news. I saw him only 8 days ago at what turned out to be his very last gig, so close, I could have reached out and touched him. So glad I got to see him with the band that one last time. Such a special night, only now do i know how much so....
RIP Paul. He was an extremely important element to UFO's sound. The band owe much of their success to him. I didn't start liking UFO until the Lights out album (Paul's debut album).. MUCH better keyboard in that album than previous ones.
Very much like Malcolm Young, the driving force behind the band who kept out of the spotlight , part of my growing up and adult life, without a doubt best album was walk on water and in my opinion one of the greatest rock albums of all time.
I met Paul in a little guitar shop in Melbourne Florida giving guitar lessons , it was like 1989 or 1990. I was 19 yrs old metal head, and I'll tell you why man he was one of the best guitar players I ever watched play, awesome
Here in Fairfax Virginia they announced that he passed away today on 100.3 on the radio dial rock station. And I have not heard that song since the 80s Too Hot brought back such memories going out with my girlfriend Terry Adams. She passed away in 2011 has my wife sorry to see him go. Really is sad. But brought back good memories the song what an awesome band. What an awesome keyboard guitarist. Going to miss you man
At least it was his keys that wanna make me crank up the volume to 10 on such classy tracks as only u can rock me, love 2 love, natural thing, just to name some. His melodic layers were right on spot.
Paul my GOD man i was just saying how cool he was his multi tallent was hi on the mind's of many fellow musicians i know brian wheat at THEAR second record release party at shire road pub a club our bands got to play before tesla was CITY KIDD we talked about UFO i was a bass player turned guitar it's sad that thay lost THER mates and some of my favourite musicians UFO FOREVER NO BAND WAS LIKE EM
It shouldn't have to be that way. People, ESPECIALLY rockers, are just dying WAY before their time. Medical science REALLY needs to find a way to extend youth and slow down aging, because this is getting ridiculous. Everybody's dying way before their time, and it's all my favorite rockers.
Only from a distance It’s like older people subscribe to local newspapers and turn to the obituary section seeking out if any of their friends are listed! Then I look in the mirror and say “Yikes! I’m becoming old too!”
He was their missing piece in the 70s that put them over the top. Thankful he followed Michael into MSG. More great work. R.i.p. Paul
More sad news, a great musician. Wow, those three albums bring back great music memories...Lights Out, Obsession, Strangers In The Night...
Rest in peace brother...
UFO. A great band...

Sad to lose another rock great but at 73 he accomplished so much. He will be missed. RIP
Trance 9: Nowadays 73 is just too young to die!
Rest In Peace, Paul. You were an integral part of UFO and made great music.
My first ever gig was UFO at the Edinburgh Odeon in January 1980. It was fantastic. They were such a great band both live and in the studio. Paul Raymond was a big part of their sound. RIP Paul.
Tears ! R-I-P Bro you were a King ! And always will be
God bless you Paul keep on rockin up there.
A very great example of a band-player - versatile on keys, guitar as needed - not in there to self-promote, but always solid value-added.
Many years ago, I was lucky enough to take a close-up picture of him and Pete Way at the Orpheum Theatre, Boston Massachusetts. They had Paul Chapman in the band. Great Show.
Saw UFO and MSG both with Paul Raymond.. unusual guitarist and keyboard player that gave UFO its unique sound.
Paul you are in our hearts forever-
Ufo and your history are all parts of my permanent music collection history.
If true,,, this is one of the last of our true musicians. He was just as good with MSG.Times are changing. We are losing extremely great players from a time when rock was at its extreme best.No one will ever top the sixties seventies and eighties rock and music scenes. It is priceless.Lets all not forget it.

Great keyboardist and excellent rhythm guitarist
RIP Paul. You created a great, powerful tandem sound with both Schenker and Chapman.
