I love the main idea of this case, but the execution seems like a conjunction of many afterthoughts.
    1. Why no cable ties when the case is huge inside?
    2. Why make the psu cable routed outside if there’s a load of space inside?
    3. Why make a mesh top but the wall underneath not perforated?
    4. Why make the back look like a bottom, have punched holes where feet could go, but not allow a horizontal mount? (Just a guess)
    5. Why charge such a high price, but then have the outside be completely plastic in comparison to every other “D Airflow” series case ?

    • @nathanhudkins
      @nathanhudkins Рік тому

      1. Company preference (money)
      2. It'd be more excess internal cable management. The point is that there is a LOT of space not taken up by wires going everywhere.
      3. Aesthetics.
      4. Soley designed to be vertical.
      5. It's Corsair, isn't that expensive compared to other ITX cases, and it has a plastic shroud because getting some of those inset lines on the case shroud are near impossible to be mass-manufactured with metal, however the plastic is not low quality or thin whatsoever.

Case doesn't require a riser based on the motherboard mounting.
The price of the case should have been around the 109.99 price point.
The case depth should have been increased by 25-50 mm to allow for fans and a 3 slot gpu as well as provide a chamber to route the PSU cable inside. The top magnetic cover could have covered and allowed access and the top of the case could have had a gromet to bring the cable inside.
This should have shipped with all of the QX line as I will say building with the new proprietary cable made wire management a breeze even if most of the RGB view is limited.

I did a build with this system using a PA 120 SE w/ noctua fans tuned to max 1250rpm and Asus Tuf 3090. I have 3 arctic p12s at 800rpm at the front. Its decently silent tuned this way. AMA.
He is right though about the GPU airflow being odd. I pulled the filter and it did cool off a lot.
In my case i'm using an asus Tuf 3090 in silent mode setting and it is much quieter with the filter at the back pulled off. My temps running simple heaven benchmark is around 70c with gpu fans coasting around 1250rpm. Otherwise, it would eventually ramp up to 2k rpm at a higher temp.
An odd thing about this case is that the way the gpu heat comes off of the gpu, it likes to come out in all directions. I can feel cool intake via the back and heat pops out the sides and top.
The top interior though is a solid piece of metal so the heat spreads out through the top of the case. Even though there is a mesh top panel it doesn't really help the heat escape. They need to redesign it with holes and maybe a mount so that you could put some giant fan up top to help exhaust out the top as an option. Especially it seems length isn't a super big deal vs thickness for gpus.
I eventually will put in a 4090FE so i'm guessing i can reverse the top 1 or 2 front fans and hope it blows out the hot air out front and let the bottom fan push in something to the cpu area.
    PROS:
looks/style, front panel, footprint, no riser needed vs something like meshilicious, h1, hyte
    CONS:
    feels cheap
weird design choices at the top of the case

They should have used a thicker panel for the GPU side. If they had gone with, say, 1.5mm steel, they could have used a significantly more open configuration of the holes without compromising structural integrity. Not a terrible case, but I definitely think that they made some poor choices about where they cut costs.

  • @NoxxFusion
    @NoxxFusion Рік тому +5

I dont understand this GPU temps. I have the dustfilter on (have removed the once in front and on the AIO side) and have a stable GPU temp of around 70 celsius. My GPU is a Asus RTX 4070 dual card. intake fans in front are set to 30% becouse of noise and I have a coolermaster ML360 illusion that is set to exhaust. I am over all very satisfied with the case. But there are some things I think they should have made better. I wish they had made it easier to place non slim fans in front the case since its so big allready, a few more millimeters would not had anything to say (Im not really a fan of corsairs fan system and think they are very noisy compared to other fans and I also don't like the software) . I have a motherboard with a m.2 ssd on the back with a heatsink, this won't fit atleast it does not for my Asus ROG X570i so i had to modify the case and cut away a bit. I also wish, like it was said in the video that they would include a extra ssd bracket since it is space for it. The ssupd meshlicious also have the IO pointing down but atleast on the corsair its space for the cables that goes from the GPU. Overall I am more happy with this case then the meshlicious and my overall temps are atleast better on this one. CPU is a AM4 Ryzen 5 5600X.

    - All panels are removeable for easy access
    Cons:
    - Literally everything else.
I bought this case (RGB Airflow with fans) and I was shocked, they managed to make all the bad design choices, even the fan cables routing could be much cleaner if the cables were on the other side. I spent ~5 hours assembling my PC inside this case, I can write a book on what they should have done differently.
Note that the shell is held by rivets instead of bolts, so if you thought you could flip it or something, you will not be able to do it easily.
iCue requires 9pin USB header, check if your motherboard has one, I have Minisforum BD790i so now I have to figure out how to connect it.
I would recommend to wait for the second version/revision (if they will make any), or if you really like how it looks and want to buy it then make sure you know what you get...

    GTX 4090 FE
    SF1000L

More recently, an a200 experienced pump failure and the warranty replacement took over six weeks to process... oh, and was shipped with Win11 instead of the Win10 that I originally ordered and still prefer. This case initially looks interesting, but the PSU cable "management" on the back and the video I/O are far from optimal. Meanwhile, the lack of a top exhaust fan - you know, 'cuz heat tends to RISE - is just perplexing on a case this size (and at this price). And I feel a lot of people out have desk space to spare in height but not so much in depth. Personally I dont mind not having heaps of GPU options. But this is better than Silverstone's in that regard. I don't see Corsair or Silverstone stealing many people away from the AP201. Which is incredibly versatile. This seems like more of an MATX case rather than an ITX. They need to make a 1000 D case where you can fit up to a 280 mil. In it, but figure out a different place to set up the ITX motherboards only. That's easier to access than on the bottom

Isn't it possible, as you can install the side panels up side down, that the idea is so that the case can be flipped up side down? By moving the legs to the top and installing the side panels up side down?? Would make sense for me to have the IOs on the top, and hanging the GPU is a good thing I would say

I'm struggling to understand who they're targeting with this because it's so expensive, but lacks a lot of the things that the SFF community would be willing to pay that premium for. After a certain size, cases have to contend with the NR200, which is much cheaper than this, and less of a headache because the I/O isn't pointed downward.

Those other SFF cases is too big so it's something you can't put in your living room but this 2000D is more feasible because of its small physical foot print. I like gaming on my 75inch Samsung Q-LED in the living room.

The worst parts about this case have to be the fact that the cables that have to be plugged into the back of the motherboard & GPU have to be bent out of the bottom. The way this case could've been way better are...
    1) Make the case a little bit taller so full sized ATX PSUs fit
    2) Give more space for the GPU to breathe
    3) Make the whole case horizontal instead of vertical
    4) Anybody have anything else to add???

I had been interested in the Fractal Terra for its small size and beautiful aesthetic, but its out of stock everywhere at the moment. I opted for the SSUPD Meshroom S at 15L for its full range of cooling and hardware support.
