Without any way to get makeup air into the box below, you won't get much dust collection in there. You don't actually want it completely sealed. The opening at the top will provide some, but not much given the diameter of the hose. The rest of this is super cool. I love the build, and how quickly it went together. Nice tilting router, too.
Great design! I love the way you did the side drawers. The compartment where the router is will need sufficient airflow to evacuate the dust. if it is sealed with no airflow except for he opening where the router bit is, will cause a vacuum and will reduce the airflow. If there is problems evacuating the dust from router compartment, try adding air holes at the bottom of the front door. This will allow airflow and help with the dust.
Love your videos; I've watched every single one! I'm always so impressed with how much thought you've put into your builds. Would love to see a video about your entire thought process from idea and planning all the way to finished product.
Alex, long time subscriber/follower/watcher. I just want to say great job my boy. I love how your channel isn't just traditional woodworking and incorporate elements of CNC, Lazer Cutting, Metal work. It's like a modern take on DIY projects. It's great you just create jigs / template you need with the cutter when you don't have it. It's so customized. Honestly, someone needs to pick up this man and bring him into design projects. I would love to see you do some collabs with some of the other DIY/Wood/Metal Workers (unfortunately, you're the only one that I watch that is outside of the U.S.). Keep up the goodwork!
*Starting to change out all my corded tools to cordless and the **MyBest.Tools** are excellent.I just recently used it to router hinges for a 4 sets of doors with no issues and still plenty of power left (used a 3ah battery).Great visibility at the cutting area also.*
I'm used to larger, corded routers ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
Yah, sticker shock for sure. But it's not always worth it for a tool you can trust. You have to use it enough to justify it's purpose. I'd be hard pressed to use a router enough to justify it's $1250 cost, plus another couple hundred in the table. And I didn't dig very deeply, but I don't know how many of the accessories that they sent Alexandre are included in that $1250 price.
Love your channel. it really amusing to see the excitement on your face trough the entire video. Also I really like your down to earth approach about your work and solutions. See you next time!!!
Great build! My shop is too small for a dedicated router cabinet so I have mine mounted to the underside of my workbench/table saw discharge. I may try to mimic some of this. Thanks again for the inspiration Alexandre.
I love how he makes things for the shop to help him make things for the shop. And I know he will be doing a big build for those storage bins on the wall
Just a suggestion for your dust extraction, perhaps the hole in the back of the cabinet could have been toward the bottom instead of at the top? That way any heavier dust/chips which would fall to the bottom would have a better chance of getting sucked up?
Hi Alexandre, sehr sehr schicker Frästisch. Würde ich direkt nachbauen, allerdings schreckt mich der Preis von der Fräse und dem Lift. Aber sehr schick geworden und super erklärt und umgesetzt.
Great looking table. Dust collection should be mounted on the bottom of the back and you will need air flow so some holes in the door top will make your dust collection actually collect dust.
So timely! I was up until midnight last night designing a new router table in SketchUp. I'm going to change my design to incorporate some of your ideas. Great video, thanks!
Not so long time passed before table top gets utilized in new project! 👍 Router cabinet looks cool, especially, with blue anodized aluminum.. Great job!
That's a great setup! I imagine there is over $1,800 in the router, lift, fence, track, etc. but it will be worth it for those of us that can afford it! I have an old New Yankee Workshop table that I built 30 years ago that does fine but no lift, no tilt, no sizzle LOL. Beautiful job on the table!
You are a true inspiration... I want to make a 90 degree ratcheting screwdriver now. Also that new router is looking amazing on that table, can't wait to see what you do with it. :)
Hi, Would the router table really be better to do those big chamfers on with that kind of setup? On a tall piece it would be equally wobbly and not having that perfectly vertical or 90 degrees to the table will cause poor results, especially with those narrow edges remaining. Might I suggest a super wide flattening bit, and lay the board with the bottom down? Only thing is that it tilts the wrong way in respect to the fence, but that should be an easy fix.
Awesome video, awesome project. Love everything about this, except those handles. Grey would've looked way better imo. Still stunning though, and clever.
I actually saw this when it was 3 minutes live on UA-cam and now it shows 23 minutes which is correct when you do the math. When I get good in wood working this probably be my next purchase.

Alexandre, I love your video and I am love your router table plans…consider having the plans in both metric and FPS for the American that r to lazy to convert for metric to inches. ?… I think your dust collection contained collection box are really practical ,smart but so simple . Keep posting …I will be watching. Kutncure
I would put a 2nd dust collector hole at the bottom, so that it can suck up heavier dust, wich doesn't get sucked up by the upper hole, and prevents your workshop of dust, when jou open it.
What a great video..great audio and sound quality..but must importantly I am now motivated to make my own router table…Question: I live in the United States and I would love to purchase this set up…is it made in the US…or are all power plug European?…none the less ..I will be purchasing your plans-also interested in laser also..5 stars.:. PS-what is the brand of screw driver are u using ?..time 7:03…do I have a link..thx
Sealed door will cause airflow issue. You have to replace the air you are moving and the opening at the top of your lift is not enough especially when you are using such a tight ring. The placement of the hole in the back is great because you will be collecting small particles at the source. larger pieces are not dangerous to your lung as much as the smaller particles. Great job though!
Hi! Thanks for shearing! Nice router table!! 2 questions if i might: did you kept the router, right? and whats the PANTONE or color code of the grey pain to use? I love it! Thanks again. Cheers!
This is a great video. I do have a question regarding your drawer slides for the vertical drawers for the bits. You have a link, but the drawer slides do not bend, allowing you to screw into the board on the top and bottom. What is the type of drawer slides you are using in your video? I would like to get the same ones.
What is that metal thing called you've attached on the sides of the plywood before drilling into it at 7:54 for the slides? edit: i see you bent the slides, can you just bend those manually :o
I don't think you mentioned this but I was thinking is the height of the router table the same height as your assembly table? Because this would aid in stabilizing longer pieces of wood in getting cuts made with the router, but other then that it turned out amazing, love your work and enjoy this channel immensely!
Really nice, I'm thinking of something like it but I'm lookig for these kind of flexible vacuum hose and can't find great one. All I found is too "hard", any link ? :)
You said you didn't like those particular drawer slides, but why? I imagine they're from Biltema (they look the like) and I use them quite frequently, although for furniture and not for workshop cabinetry
I really love your projects, you are inspiration for me. Just wanted to ask you how you manage making the videos and make a living? I find myself struggling to buy most of my tools and not having enough time to make any video, would really appreciate your help. Thank you ✌️😊
the amount of drawers that I get to see in this channel is quite considerable
It’s a drawer inception
I’m experiencing drawer envy.
Is that a drawer conclusion you’re drawing?
You just need to think outside the box to lessen the very common drawer envy
Quite
Until I found your channel I didn’t see a use for a 3D printer for a woodworker. You’ve completely changed my mind.
You business plan is unbeatable. You manage to get tools to review for free and then make something around them to sell the plans. Win win!!

Probably because he talks to her quickly,

Same here. I was like thats a cool router lift until I saw the price. It costs more than most complete router table packages.
i'm so jealous of you upgrading your own shop with fancy tools. Video's are getting better and better!
I love that the router tilts. Saving on buying bits that have an angle and just using straight bits. That is awesome.
Thanks for talking fast and keeping it going. Nice table and we appreciate your share.
Awesome mate, love how form follows function!

Yes, I saw a similar router table build where there was quite a lot of dust/chips that fell to the bottom and didn't get sucked up.
Hi Alexandre, sehr sehr schicker Frästisch. Würde ich direkt nachbauen, allerdings schreckt mich der Preis von der Fräse und dem Lift. Aber sehr schick geworden und super erklärt und umgesetzt.

That may very well be the coolest router table I've ever seen. Great job!
The only thing i would changes in the color of the drawer handles to match the router and fence blue color

hi, what paint do you use for mdf ? ...saludos desde Mexico :D
What kind of Laser cutter is that in your video? I don't see it in your list/comments.
Love your content and all your creative ideas👌🏼 Love from Mexico 🇲🇽
So, after 2 years, hows that dust collection doing? I was wondering, why put the vacuum tube in the top of the back of the box not the bottom?
how thick is your table top? i was told for using the kreg precision fence it cant be more than an 1 1/16" thick

I think you should install the vacuum hose at the bottom of the cabinet since all the dust is going down.
Why make a template to make the cut out for the router when you can use tracing paper ?
