Hello! It is so good to see you both again. I really like this video, the lakes are so beautiful. I hope that you both are having a wonderful time. Enjoy your day. Take care.
I used to love going out on a Friday night, lively music, and a wee cider 😮. These days I enjoy staying in watching to see what Ken and Carol get up to, oh well we all get old 😅😅😅. Take care guys 😊
Thank you, the Elan valley looks amazing. Will add this to our list of future campervan travel plans. I like your mix of showcasing wild camping and CL's. In the middle of storm Darragh yesterday (this is my second viewing so I have time to comment 😊) it was bliss to watch you enjoying fantastic weather. Take care with your fiamma awning, even if you have storm straps and specialist pegs ( Fiamma have their own specialst pegs in a storage bag) the awning is only supposed to be a sun shade (advice from our campervan converter). We've learnt the hard way, having suffered the collapse of our awning during a humdinger of a rain storm, we should have put it away before we went to bed. (Even with the additional rafter pro to give more stability (it snapped). Our replacement awning is ordered and due to be fitted in the New Year!!!! We will be much more cautious using it, in future. Looking forward to your Wiltshire series, hope your editing system is sorted ❤️🚐😍 xxx
@@janetbowen7854 thanks for the advice. I think we will only use our awning as a sunshade in fine weather. Hope you were not out in your Bilbo in the storm ❤️
@@LifeistooshortCK we went out for a walk and lunch in Fittleworth, West Sussex, The Swan, just reopened after a major refurbishment, lovely. We left our Bilbo safely at home, went in the car, shame, I was looking forward to a drive, but not prepared to risk it. As it was there was a huge traffic queue on the A27 due to a fallen tree, fortunately it didn't look like anyone was injured after the Police and Highways cut it up and cleared the road. Phew, hope you were safe somewhere if out in Snoopy 😍 xx

Watching this video reminded us of our visit to Wales and especially Rhayader. I know you tend to avoid ‘proper’ sites but I can recommend the Rhayader one. There is also an excellent private site by the beach in Harlech. ( We have an A class and tow a car - wild camping isn’t really an option.)
Best tasting Low carb diabetic cauliflower cheese - ditch the packet sauce & replace with - saute briefly in a bit a butta & water (not much water) then add a bit of cream & when nearly ready, add the cheese to melt through. Another great video with lovely scenery. That cheesy cauliflower looked good and reminds me of Mac and cheese. You never know it was an alien in disguise.
It's nice to see the bright sunshine and a warm day when outside our house in December on a Friday night it's chucking it down with rain and there's a storm kicking off Malcolm and Sheila from Workington in Cumbria.
The residual heat cooker is an interesting new take on an old cooking method. My grandmother (born in 1905) used a styrofoam cooler box filled with newspapers and put a heated pot in it to make rice porridge or different types of stews. (Modern version) In the old days she had used a wooden box filled with hay. (OG version)

@LifeistooshortCK that's great 😃👍 We were headed for Maiden Bradley earlier to house sit, but this storm meant they stayed at home, making us redundant. So, currently hunkered down in a spot in Warminster. Hope you stay safe too 👍

We have stayed in Llandiloes now several times, up at a big site called Red Kite (you would have driven past on way to lead mines). Also, if you had turned right out of lead mines car park another 2 min drive would have allowed you to park up right on top of that dam, would be a great overnight spot. Also absolutely love Elan Valley, the whole thing is worth exploring, knew every part of that you have gone to so far, look forward to the next episode. Could stay in this Valley for ages I think.
Great to see you finally got a thermal cooker! I remember asking you if you would get one when you had Little Red & you said it was space to store it that was a problem. 😁👍
Oh I loved this video. Elan Valley is so close to us. The water in the Careg-ddu reservoir was very low a year or so ago and it revealed the remains of the garden walls of Nantgwyllt house, which was destroyed and flooded. I believe poet Shelley tried to lease it as his uncle had a nearby mansion and he liked the area. If you’d have driven up the lane a mile or so from the lead mine you’d have reached Lyn Clywedog Reservoir and dam. There is a small parking area and cafe. It’s huge and you can drive around a good part of it. I’ve just joined the CAMC for the CL’s. Crikey the alien made me jump! Xx
We also have the Thule storm straps and we use Peggy Pegs (German Company) to secure the legs so they don’t lift off too. We also stay on CL’s as I wouldn’t sleep wild camping, I would constantly be worried of being moved on or attacked. We also have a big motorhome so not as easily hidden. Never had anyone walk across our pitch on a CL. When we feel flush in the winter we will stay on a campsite too, much less pressure.
Thank you for this great trip to Wales--enjoy the videos! I was wondering if you have done any videos in the past or are planning any in the future that include Hadrian's Wall?
@@elainespence1581 glad you enjoy the videos. We have been to Hadrians’s Wall but it was before we had the UA-cam channel. Sorry, we have no plans to go there at the moment.
An inexpensive and very robust "storm tie down" for your awning can probably be bought at your "pound shops". In the "Dollar Stores" here in North America, you can usually find these thing call "Dog Stake Spirals" (maybe "dog leash anchors") which are simple, yet very sturdy, spiral anchors. If you can find them at the inexpensive stores, along with some rope, and maybe a couple of "s hooks" to attach to the metal of the awning. I have been using them for 13 years to keep the wind from wrecking my camper/caravan awnings. The spiral will NOT pull out of the ground, and as long as you use some sort of sliding tie down knot to tension the rope, it should be easy. I go one step further and use those black rubber tie down straps, so that they provide constant tension and a small of "give" if the wind catches the awning, so that some part does not break because of the lack of flexibility in the tie down.

@@StravaiginHippy Honey compare to sugar does not give blood sugar spikes. Honey is not just glucose and fructose, it contains a lot of vitamins, minerals, probiotics etc. Plus if people support LOCAL beekeepers they help to save LOCAL bees and environment.
@dogblackprincehoney please read again what I said. As a diabetic, I am more than aware of what is and isn't ideal. I am also well aware of the benefits of honey as opposed to cane sugar. Many sweet things, including honey, are fine in small amounts if blood sugar is controlled. I said honey is NOT the best thing for diabetics which is perfectly correct. I absolutely agree that if buying honey, the best honey comes from the smaller local producers. I buy Heather honey from a producer about 15 miles from me whose bees spend all summer in the Angus glens.
@@StravaiginHippy Thank you very much for your comments! I'm glad to hear that you understand that the best honey comes from small scale local beekeepers and that you support one by buying his honey. Bee population has declined by about 50% since 2010. When bees die humanity will have only 4 years to live.
