- Join us, Carol & Ken, on our first trip in our new Consort Nova Motorhome called Snoopy, as we continue to get used to driving and living in a larger van.
In this video, we hunker down on a campsite to avoid some bad weather, do some campervan chores, try that vegan soup and rustle up some delicious chocolate chip cookies.

I watched this last night feeling rundown and starting to get sick, and the video was so lovely, quiet and kind of meditative and actually made me feel better. Something about being snug on a rainy day is so soothing and makes one appreciate the tiny things in life. I'd love more on rainy days of just the quiet of sitting inside your van that seems so cozy, looking out the windows, with not much going on and yet still it reinforces that the small things in life are so nice to have. Thanks for this.
We are glad it helped. Hope you feel better soon 👍
I love it when the older ones do vanlife. No over the top booty shots just pure experience
You wouldn’t want to see my booty 😁👍
Except when the towel slips when coming out if the shower block!😱😵💫😂😂😂🙋🙏
I love watching these videos, no gimmicks, nothing fake just two lovely people taking it easy and enjoying life. There is a similar vlog by an American couple called "S & S & The RV Cats" which I also love watching.
You really look comfortable. That van has changed your life.
That’s a great van.I would buy the same.
Hi, I live in USA, and I watch a lot of British vlogs. You and your husband are great. He’s so funny. I love it, and I’m gonna subscribe. My dog died last week and I’ve had a hard day of crying, but you made me laugh. Especially when you said those cookies are going in and out like a fiddlers elbow I lost it that cracked me up. Thank you so much for making my day better.
Hi Trish. So sorry for the loss of your dog. That always hits hard. Glad we made you smile and thanks for the sub ❤️
Love the humour ... adding sausages to the vegan soup. My kind of people!
Nothing more British than a wet day in the Lake District !
I live in a van full time, over 3 years now. I love watching your vids. you somehow center me, I find your vids very relaxing to watch...Dont change. Thankyou
Good because we want them to be relaxing with a laugh every now and then. There is far too much drama in the world without us adding to it. 😁👍. We hope you are enjoying being full time and saving some cash along the way 👍
I envy you living in your van .it must be agrest life 😅😅😅
Hope the weather improves soon. Think we are all fed up now with all the wind and rain
They are forecasting 18° in the south tomorrow 😎🤞
What a beautiful little black and white bird. What a perfect day to curl up, read a book and eat a cookie🥰🥰🥰. Bet your little home smelled so inviting. Thank you for allowing me to visit.
Hi Carol and Ken - it genuinely heartens me to see you both comfortable in the new van - life is too short to be without a decent bed and a loo on hand 😂❤
Too true 🙂❤️
“12 hours later they finally stopped talking “ 😂 that’s what sisters do!
Love this!! Can’t beat a bit of people watching on a campsite 😂
I like watching you guys just chill in the "Airbnb on wheels" munching out. It's so relaxing for me. Keep them coming :D
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 🙂
Ken your sense of humour will get you into trouble in that little van of yours😂😂.
Great to see you both getting so much use out of your new van.
Thanks 👍
I just love the drives through little towns. It’s so beautiful.
GREETINGS from the USA...Just came upon you two!!...what a delightful couple you are!!!...love your home!...
WELL DONE!!!...
SAFE TRAVELS TO YOU BOTH!
Hi Matthew. Big hello to the USA 👍
When we get older we become window monitors, why is that? I get a chuckle from everyone of your videos, thank you. The drone footage is always the best and I love Carol's narration.
Thank you 🙂
I really enjoyed the videos of you in the little red camper but snoopy looks so much more comfortable and roomy. So happy for you guys. As always I love the scenery and the history you give with the video. Thanks
Cheers Gerald 👍
I’m here in America and seeing y’all drive on the ‘wrong’ side of the road sends me screaming at my iPad “look out!!” Lmao.
😁👍
You guys are living my dream. Enjoy
STUNNING SCENERY SHAME ABOUT THE WEATHER....THE CAMPSITE LOOKS REALLY GOOD 👍
BECKY XX
We love watching you both in your new van so much room. Enjoy😊🤚
Cheers John 👍
That van is the best! You seem so comfortable and can have your own space for doing different things. Plus, cookies! Congrats!
Thank you 🙂
I do love how you two split the joys and chores of vanning with such ease and humor! Thank you from the East coast of the USA.
Thank you. Greetings to the East Coast USA 👍
I love cozy weather days. You settle in and enjoy the views and good food. Mary
So true!
You two are a hoot and the countryside is so beautiful!
You can’t beat waffles, we’ve found they are very versatile. Thank you for completing our Friday evening again. It always surprises us when we get better internet speeds out and about than at home on fibre. You’re still our favourite channel. All the best both of you ❤
Waffley versatile 😂 Thanks guys 😀❤️
Just happened upon your channel. I live in Cumbria, having moved to the UK 3 years ago from South Africa. It's lovely to see our beautiful county through someone else's eyes 😊. Sorry the weather was a bit pants. Winter hasn't quite let go, but as you say, it's beautiful in the Lake District regardless.
Welcome to the channel. We love The Lakes at any time of year ❤️
@@LifeistooshortCKJust as well lol 👍🏻
I just discovered your videos. I really like the fact that you make the best of it and travel year round no matter the weather.
@@davidwelty9763 welcome to our channel. Thanks for watching 🙂
Best part of the day when you have a motorhome is watching new arrivals with a caravan putting up their awning! We used to have bets how long the couples would be civil to each other!!😂😂😂
Like watching a motorhome trying to park in the local town, finding all the parking has height restrictions.
Best part of a caravan is you don't have to put up an awning, and have more living space than a campervan too. I have a lwb Sprinter campervan and love it, but prefer the caravan we had before, the awning (porch style) was a bonus. Plus once on site we had a convenient car to see the sights. Like both camping alternatives, but prefer the caravan.
Best part of having a caravan is passing all the motorhomers at the bus stop😂
@@Harris_The_Cocker Touché!!! :)
At least we're being good to the environment though!
Very lovely area where you are camping. The cookies look so delicious. Hope you both have a wonderful evening.
Thanks ❤️
Hi Ken and Carol we stayed there a while back in our van. Weather was very similar. There is a nice walk down to the town from there and a steep walk back. Enjoy your new van. Love the videos and music too.
Cheers 👍
This is just beyond breathtaking,,, almost makes me cry
❤️
Its brilliant how you both seem so relaxed in your Consort, as we are in ours, even in bad weather they are a brilliant place to be. Debz does not use the oven much she prefers the air fryer or microwave that we carry around with us. Looked like typical lake district weather mind 🙂 Take care, Trev Febz and Tyler xx
Yes we might get an air fryer soon as you can’t beat one for chips 😁👍
Snoopy is doing great, that was a good place to sit out the storm no trees or anything flying around good blog
I think Asda and some supermarkets allow overnight stays for a few pound, the caravan club in Gt Yarmouth have a site right by the seafront.
Lovely seeing the Lake District (even in the rain)!
Yes it’s always a treat being there.
I so love the names you call Carol. My late husband never called me by name. The last name he called me was Mac Duff. He said he liked my name, Donna, but felt the nick names he called me were more intimate. I didn't mind at all. When we were first married, he called me Shapiro!
I feel exactly the same as he did. The names are loving and Carol loves them. Some viewers think they are terrible but we know the truth ❤️👍
I'm craving cookies now! I'm going to get some of those for our first motorhome trip this spring, funnily enough also to Keswick. Enjoy your travels and thank you for sharing the video, it seems as though Snoopy is proving to be a lovely, comfortable space and perfect for hunkering down on those cold, windy days.
Enjoy your first trip 👍
Your countryside and weather is so much like Tasmania, Australia. Beautiful
We would love to visit Tasmania one day 🙂
Wonderful video, very soothing. Take care,God speed on your journeys. 😊
The drive from Windermere to Keswick never gets old ❤ xx
Another great Vlog. The Lakes wouldn't be right without a bit of rough weather. However, when it's nice its glorious.
I find it unbelievable that some pedestrians fail to use a crossing correctly. The dog walker at (2:31) was 2 or 3 yards away from a light controlled crossing, yet chose to attempt crossing off the kerb 🤨
Tha Lake District is so beautiful, the stone circle at Castlerigg is magical. New van looks great.
Cheers 👍
You two never seem to get bored even in the awful weather.I like how you make your own meals...and cookies. You are an inspiration.
Bridge house was built like that to avoid tax! 2 rooms only & once housed a family with 6 children! The most photographed house in the L District.
It's beautiful, the views from inside are great. Yes I've been in there & have a fantastic moderate home of it!
@@lindakirk698 would love to see inside 😊
I always enjoy your videos. You create an atmosphere that is a pleasure to share.
Thank you 👍
I've only recently discovered your videos and I'm loving them. However, I am starting to get anxious about your diet! Have you heard of fruit and veg?
What a lovely video Ken & Carol
I love they way you trade off chores and so thoughtful of each other. Loving your travels in your new van. Enjoy seeing the countryside. Claudie/Texas
Thanks so much! 🙂
Late watching as just back from Inverness. I love potato waffles with an Egg on top! Love how you have all the space now and a tv to watch. Take care Carol and Ken.
If you cut your red pepper (or any other colour) when it's fresh and put it in the freezer, you can just take out what you need and the rest will stay good.
It does help to lay them out on a flat surface to freeze, then pop them in a Zip-Lock bag.
Onions and tomatoes can also be frozen, cut up or whole.
Ooh, now I'm craving cookies. :)
Jon in rural BC, Canada
I do that with peppers too.👍
That’s a great tip. Thank you 🙂👍
Hello you two, for a moment I couldn't figure out if it's spring yet, but hey, it's England. You can have a 'fireplace' on your telly (saw it in a hotel once) and warm your hands with a nice cup of tea and warm cookies.
These videos are behind reality. That was Jan/Feb 👍
Enjoy and stay safe.its good to see you on your travels.Thank you for sharing.Maureen and Arthur
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching 🙂
Something very relaxing watching you watching people out the window...and loving the new vegan content, keep it up 🎉
People watching is a great sport. 😁👍
We done exactly what you guys did. Kendal Cricket club, then onto Castlerigg Farm. We also parked down by the toilet block but couldn't get level (sure its a 15% incline those pitches 😅) so we also had to move 😅 great to see you guys really settled into Snoopy now 😊
I think a fair few move from those pitches. They need big ramps or customers who don’t mind being on the wonk. 😁👍
We were there at the time you were there
Each....half an advocado mash. Red or green chilli. Up to you how much. Crushed pine nuts (use what you have. Pepper n salt.n squeeze of lemon..mix. Drizzle top with balsamic vinegar. Can be used for breakfast on toast. Enjoy.
@@serela1963 sounds tasty 😋👍
Thanks for this video. Snoopy is so comfortable in any weather.
Regarding your red pepper 'problem'. Slice the pepper in half, remove all seeds and stalk. Place the halves under a hot grill until the skin blackens & blisters. Remove & place in a plastic bag until cool. The skins will now easily peel off. This makes the pepper far more palatable to have in a salad, and removes the 'bulk', making a whole pepper seem less daunting!
Thanks for the tip 👍
That van has really made you guys so happy. Didn't even really natter about the weather u can still relax.
What a way to end the video with some yummy cookies. Thanks for sharing guys.
Glad you enjoyed it. We can recommend the cookies 🙂👍
This is my all time favourite campsite. I visit normally twice a year. Up until a couple of years ago I was in a tent but now in a microcamper. However I was due to visit in March and arrived in Keswick just as it was getting dark with horizontal snow so chickened out and stayed in a local Premier Inn!!
Wise move on the Premier Inn. I bet a few tents go flying up there at times. Have you experienced the low flying jets 🫣😁👍
Hi Carol and Ken, thanks for the info on bridge house Ambleside, we only knew it was a private residence, we had lunch in a very nice cafe in town and had a good look around to walk it off, until the next vid, cheers, Garry from DownUnder
Cheers Garry 👍
Carol's cookies looked so lovely. Keep dry, and happy to hear the Christmas music is back. It always makes me chuckle xxx
😁👍
Nice video.
We used to frequent Castlerigg Farm & Castlerigg Hall. Both closed their cafe's during 'covid' & neither opened back up (to this day).
The Hayloft was a great place to eat & saved cooking in the van. Both are sloping sites, so we stopped going altogether.
Shame.
Shame to lose the cafes.
I’ve stumbled across your channel and its brilliant we have a caravan and love new arrivals we spend 2 hours watching someone reverse their motorhome onto a pitch in the mud.. it was delightful we had snacks and everything and far better than anything on the tv
😅 We miss all that excitement when we’re wild camping 😁
Lovely! In rain, or shine.
Ken, you smile a lot more in the new van, suits you ,must be the new size, .When we arrive at a new site, our first stop is the fresh water location ,great video
It must be true because a lot of people are saying the same 😁👍
Lovely video to watch. You both seem so much happier in Snoopy. Funny how things work out, like it was meant to be.
Spring time or autum you could visit canary islands or balears in spain
Would love to do that 👍❤️
I was born and bred in Cumbria, (previously Cumberland until 1974). So it’s so nice to see the two of you in my old back yard as it were.
My father was an officer in the County Constabulary, so we moved around the area a lot:( I love to see travel vlogs from my home area, and a good one gives me that “Ahh feeling”. So thank you 😊
Shame about the weather, but for me the Lake District looks beautiful how ever she is dressed, be it mist and rain, or blindingly bright hot sun with wall to wall blue sky’s there is no bad way to see the lakes and fells. My favourite way these past few yrs when I make a trip home is to make my way straight from the ferry port to Aira Force car park just before first light and walk up the trail to the falls just in time for sunrise, stunning.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Another great video guys! Thank you 😊
It’s true what others have said - it is relaxing watching 😊 The Lakes look lovely even in the not so good weather 🚐👍🏻 I haven’t been for years but it is definitely on my list to do 😊🚐🐾 and so enjoyed the commentary of others arriving on camp - I got stuck in the muddy grass last week - needed help to get off 😳🚐 half expect to be on a video somewhere 😂
Sorry to hear you got stuck. Been there and done that a few times when we had caravans. 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK luckily i was easily rescued 🚐👍🏼☺️
It is lovely seeing you spending time in the van and looking so contented. How cool to be able to bake cookies in the van. And thank you for sharing the link to the murmuration video. Really very kind of you…again❤
That was a great video 👍
He looked after you indeed. Love your videos 😊
It’s good to see you enjoying the comforts of your new van. Couldn’t recognise the site then realised we stopped at Castle Rig Hall . Our favourite place was the caravan and camping club site on the shaws of Derwentwater. Keswick is our special place. Enjoy Brysons, Booths, the theatre by the lake, the Dog and Gun and the Skiddaw. Thank you for bringing back some special memories.
Glad to bring back some happy memories for you 🙂
These posts are far more my style and speed, thank you! From New Zealand
Glad you enjoy 🙂
I have literally just returned from a week in Ambleside with the family, so many roads and names instantly recognisable. Great video 😊
Great video Ken & Carol cookies 🍪 looked great, nice to see you both settling into your new van 😊
Cheers Lee 🙂
Well hello Ken & Carol, you have a new van wow its beautiful and looks so toasty and warm 😊,so sorry I've not been watching ,so much time spent looking after my rosie I don't get much free time anymore, well you both look well and relaxed 😊good to see you both out enjoying life x
Hello Nidge. Don’t you worry about not watching you focus on Rosie. All the best from us ❤️
Hi Carol and Ken Cookies looked nice. Another great video. The new van is a new start. Kind Regards from a sunny but windy and dry so far West Sussex Coast. Crawford
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your Sunday 🙂
Stayed on that site in 1972. Had a good day out and got back to find a gale going on. Our small frame tent still standing but most other tents flattened and peoples belongings blowing away. We had to do a hasty pack and get the frame down without removing any pegs before bundling the canvas in the car!!
It is an exposed site so must be challenging in a tent when it’s windy!
Amazing van, inside and out guys. Congrats 🙌. I still cannot get over - how they grow so much big potatoes to be shaped as a waffles 😂
We do love your van form factor and wish I wasn’t so tall. Can’t whack the Lakes - we like Keswick and stayed on the same site last year - good outlook across isn’t there. Have a great weekend - David & Rachel 👍
Thanks guys, you too 🙂
So enjoying seeing you both settle into Snoopy. What a lovely van she is. You both seem more relaxed each time we see you now. Wonderful ❤xx
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful. ❤. I know what you mean about red peppers and they are very expensive so I tend to chop them up and put them in the freezer to use with curry and chilli etc. ❤
Great tip! Thanks 🙂👍
The Lake District is on my bucket list and watching your travels gives me a glimpse of what to expect! Thank you.
Well worth a visit 👍
Hi, hope you're enjoying the wind up at your site, just been walking near the stone circle, we are camping for a couple of nights down I Keswick near the Rugby Club, enjoy your stay from Steve & Joan from Whitby
Such a cosy van. Must be pure bliss when snuggled up inside on a windy, wet and chilly day. As an aside, I live in London, Ontario, Canada (The 'other' London) and not far from where I live, there is an Ambleside Drive. There are a lot of street names in London that are derived from their namesakes in Britain. We even have a Piccadilly Street, although it looks nothing like the one in London, England.
We have been lucky enough to visit Ontario but not London 👍
Would love to see the Lake District some day. Really growing into "snoopy" now
By the way, greetings from the Isle of Wight, and please come back soon!
Greetings. We would love to 👍
Your weather is very similar to NZ. Nice & easy listening vids good chilling out. Nice van, hope you enjoy such a nice camp. Cheers.
Life is too short and sadly so are your videos 🥲. Always look forward to a new notification of your latest adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching ❤️
There's only one lake in the lake district and it's Bassenthwaite Lake near to where you were at.All the rest are meres. As in Windermere Grasmere and Thirlmere.
Herdwick caravan site is right by Bassenthwaite Lake. Great site.
Congratulations on your first vegan soup with sausages 😅 👍. Ready made Guacamole is rarely good, it's better to buy a fresh avocado and do it yourself or mash it with a hard boiled egg and season it with lime juice, salt and pepper (also on bread). Chocolate cookies are lovely, when fresh from the oven. I enjoyed watching your cosy day. I love cosy days myself 😊. Take care
Thanks for the SuperThanks and lovely comment ❤️
Yet another great video. Just seen u power cord is very long for the van which is handy for the obvious reasons but the problem is it has to be stretched out with out any coiling as the coil will heat up and harden the cable or worst case it can catch fire.
I have changed it now for a better one. Highly doubt it will be used much going forward 👍
Always nice to share the time with your videos. That van really looks comfy. Nice to know that it's creature warm during cold wet weather. The perfect combination of temperatures.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Ah the good old British weather. Glad that you are making the best of it and these cookies looked great fresh from the oven.
The cookies were good. Didn’t last long 😂
