There is one feature of the W-King, which you obviously didn't realize: If you're not using it on max volume level, you can extremely adjust the bass level through the relation between sound source volume and speaker volume: E.g. if you set your music player on 30% volume and the speaker on 100% volume, you get the described big bass. But if you set your music player on 100% volume and the speaker on 30% volume, you get much less bass. This way you can adjust the bass level exactly to your taste. This feature works on using with cable/aux as well as with bluetooth, also with bt stereo link.

Great in depth review 👍 I bought a d8 last week and quickly added a second to pair them. The second one turned up this morning and I've been cranking it up, wow !!! Loving it 😊😍 EDIT: A couple of months of using them and there is a slight issue when they're in paired mode, every now and again there's some weird interference noises, pretty annoying fault to be honest

I have 5 bluetooth speakers including W-KING, Anker Soundcore Motion Plus and the JBL Xtreme (1) and the Anker Soundcore Motion Plus is my favourite for sound quality and portability, although I do love my W-KING as well, especially for its loudness. Indoors it sounds just okay, but outdoors is where it really shines and places it (almost) on par in terms of sound quality with Anker Soundcore Motion Plus. W-KING is still the best bang for the buck on Amazon, imo.
just got my d8 in today and after a full charge.. IT KICKS ASS! Id put it against a friends jbl anyday... ordered a second one already to pair together for tws! i originally had gotten a Lyxpro 8 inch battery PA which is wicked and blows the volume away from the wking but there corded ones are by far better then there battery PA.. annnd after sending my broken smaller unit back from a defect i was hoping to buy the 12 inch battery PA...they had sold out or prices had skyrocketed. Im super Happy with the W-king for now until I find another 12 inch lyxpro battery or just try the newer traveler version of the 8 inch..I recommend the W-king for id say medium light bass sound really good highs and mids.. will know more when i spend more time trying to figure out the dam equalizer modes since i cant find anything about them .. manual says nothing about how many or what they are.. enojoying it and cant wait for my second to pair with it!
Or, you can buy both...purchased the Soundcore as my first Bluetooth speaker back in December and I love it for the sound and the freedom that cutting the cord brings...it travels with me to the yard, garage and basement. I just grabbed the W-King last week for work...loud factory. Life is good. Now I just need to get my Iphone to play my library of MP3s.

I’ve been stuck between the Pagani, wking and wking mini. Prices are all very good now I’m 100% sold WKING is the winner I’m buying now. I’m using this for my racecar which is very loud inside and has no speakers this should be plenty loud over the exhaust.

Alright, I'm gonna buy one and hopefully hear how good this speaker is for the money. I need a rugged outdoor, travel ready package that doesn't sound thin. Originally thought it was pretty ugly and cheap looking, kind of feel the same still, except it's performance/sound makes up for it's dump truck appeal. I lean towards bass heavy bluetooth speakers, hope this one kicks like I believe it will. Great review as usual A.Ross!
I don't know why you don't have more subscribers, weird? I would EQ from the source to drop the midrange which will allow more clarity in the freqs that humans hear without all the overdrive. I love the eq curve you use because it's the right way! Most DJ's don't even know how to eq properly. 5k is harsh to human ears, so it should be lowered.
The trouble with mixing is second guessing what devices, setups and volumes the likely target audience will be using. Even guessing the quality of the tracks used and bitrate etc has big impact on how you will mix.

I occasionally drive a van that does not have a working radio so bought the w-king speaker which works perfectly and can be heard clearly in the van when it is moving
i just dont use software eq, not worth the trouble imho. having said that i did tamper but couldnt get it to sound right, different yes, but not right. i was just trying to get it flatter at low volume. therein lays the problem, the sounds chnages all the way up with volume making a single eq impossible.
@@alanrossreviews It seems to me then that any app with more Custom EQ profiles with names like Soundcore+ 33, 66, 75, 100 etc. would be very useful, especially if you are able to make your own response curve charts.
I run my 2 through a Lg7v30,quad dac w MQA,plug into the aux, you can adjust sound, BAM YOU GOT TWS WITH FAR BETTER SOUND, IM CURIOUS HOW IT SOUNDS COMPARED TO THE JBL EXTREME

I come from a Microlab 9c "pseudo hi fi" system, which is also highly criticized by some (much bass oompf and no really for 'critical listening' like JBL monitors) and praised by others ... I wanted a more compact and transportable system... I do not need an extraordinary clarity and by now I have seen that with an equalizer i can do enough to improve the sound, for my point of view ... I have however noticed that everything is relative and depends on your ear ...and the imposing bass at minimum volumes we may like, and as you said at minimum levels the ear is less sensitive ...

@@Solracsiio w-king is better value, but i wouldnt say better altogether. xtreme 1 and 2 are about same volume but differ according to tracks. if you just want louder on battery then go for w-king d8. otherwise xtreme 2 for low bass rumble or xtreme 1 for upper bass punch.

In terms of the perceived maximum non-distorted loudness capability of the D8, would I be correct to assume that despite the much stronger bass, it's overall only a little louder (or space-filling) than a EQ'd Motion+?
the loud eq mode is very distorted, default mode is louder than motion plus but with deeper bass too. but its sound isnt as refined as the motion plus.
Interesting and good to know, but in relative terms (and aside from bass) how much louder can you blast various music on the king before any distortion occurs, in contrast to that with the motion set to your loudest reasonable custom eq setting?
Do you capture your frequency analysis data over the length of a song, or multiple songs (or perhaps using a frequency sweep)? I see a at least two harmonic series sets of parcials correpsonding to fundamentals at 57.5 Hz and 71 Hz in your sptrum analysis for the -w-king and I'm curious whether they are being produced by the resonant frequencies of the enclosure (or maybe woofers) or whther they are the usual peaks you see when doing a spectrum analysis using tonal music (with the peaks corresponding to the tonal centre of the music, i.e the root of the scale usually). THe series at 57.5 Hz does corresppond to what Im finding with this speaker (the w-king), which is that is is especially boomy at B-flat #1 and #2. Annoyingly so in fact, but as you say, the sound becomes really balanced at top volume. Ive tried the Energy Sistem Outdoor street, the Xtreme 2 , Energy SIstem Music box 9 , and a bunch of others (also checked out your reviews) and have gone for the w-king in the end because of the extra power. Interesting.
so the frequency analysis charts are over the whole tracks and all tracks for whatever volume test im doing. so if i do say 66% volume over two tracks the charts show the whole of both tracks. hope that helps. The charts are after any normalization if required. if i have normalised i mention this during the test clips. The frequency sweep is the one i start off with before the actual testing normally.
Great review Alan! I was wondering if boosting the 50Hz and 150Hz help the Anker with lower and mid bass on max volume? Or does it simply has no headroom there?

And yes that's what I have discovered today as well, max volume and further bass boost give me distortions in bass heavy and dynamic tracks. Still experimenting with the EQ but your materials and knowledge are here invaluable. Also big tkanks with finding the best BT speaker in this price range. I have nie the M+ and D8, tomorrow i will get the Dockin D Fine, but its looks that M+ is best choice with it's price, quality and size.
Any idea whether there's any delay/latency when connecting a device through the aux in? One thing Im finding is that a lot of these bluetooth speakers (all the JBL speakers in my testing so far) have a 15-100 ms delay/latency through the aux in. THis is distracting if you use the speaker for playing keybard/guitar in little gigs and dont have a little foldback speaker going on . As you'll know, that kind of latency is loads when youre trying to play an instrument. The way I test and confirm this before buying a speaker is by splitting the output from my phone using a splitter cable, then connecting one of the jacks to one speaker (the one I'm testing) and the other jack a speaker which I have which I know has zero latency, and then play a piano note on my phone, or a drum sample or something. The echo effect is immediately obvious is there's a processing delay on the speaker I'm testing. My suspicion is that the heavy internal EQ of the JBLs and some others creates this latency.
ive played with the idea of testing latency testing but my testing takes long enough as it is. If i work out a consistent quick method that is consistent I will give this a go. Aux is one thing but bluetooth has many variables that might make my results different to yours.

So would you recommend buying this Alan..I just bought a Vtin soundhot r7- 50 watt and although it didnt sound to bad it only has a 4000 mah battery..Every other comparable 50 watt speaker has atleast 8000 mah batteries..I have to listen at work at full volume to drown out tool noise so i dont think the VTIN would last long without out constant recharging throughout the day..Does the W KING distort at full volume ?

not really. the sound signature is similar only at high volumes when the motion plus struggles and the w king evens out. at low to moderate the w king is nowhere near as clear and open as the motion plus.
Still playing around with different eq and music sources on my iPhone (🤮) Question about the volume level and db output. If one music source (app) plays louder than the other, does it matter what "percentage" the speaker plays at? In other words, if one app plays at let's say 70 db on 30% volume, and another plays at 70db at 45% volume, will the sound be different?
im not following this entirely. are you saying the peak is 70db? without knowing where that peak is its hard to say if the sound has changed or not. me i would record the two at the same gain level and compare tacks to see if it is indeed the same. i think if it SOUNDS the same does it matter? are you using custom eq in these apps?
Yes, this boom app has a 18 band +/- 10 db eq, but it plays much louder than the spotify app at the same Bt output volume percentage, regardless of eq settings. I've played around with all settings to try to lower the volume gain as much as possible. I guess my question is, does it matter where the db gain comes from? Either from the app or volume on the speaker?
my charging port on this device has broken twice . thus my device is unable to recharge. this happend on 2 different devices both the same model W KING. I liked speaker so much i re bought it and the same issue with charging port happened. now im stuck with 2 W KING speakers unable to recharge. any advice?
Alan, I'm hesitating between the motion+ and this D8. I always take a speaker in my sport bag on my bike cycle. Choosing between 2.4kg and 1kg...but which one has the longest battery life?
motion plus has a big battery but battery life always comes down to volume played at and how much bass it produces. unless you really want a bass heavy speaker i would go with the motion plus.

Still waiting for the motion plus here in my end.. The sony xb32 was on sale but damn! Upon auditioning it again and turning the volume up around 80 it distorts.
Got two of these a couple of weeks ago, because Amazon had a sale, they were going for $65 each (normally $75)! So, about one third the price of the JBL Extreme 2s! ( I have two Extreme 2s, BTW) For stereo via bluetooth, they do not need an app, unlike the JBLs! So I can play stereo from my Windows Dell XPS 9370 where there is no JBL Connect app yet. Be aware though that the bluetooth sound is delayed as you can easily see/hear the sync issue in my Nikon DSLR videos shot with my Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro. Is there an app for that? Delay the video to match the delay in the sound? I am now using cables instead of bluetooth to avoid this issue.
not just portability, i prefer it at low to medium listening levels because of its greater clarity and detail. at higher volumes the w-king comes into its own as it becomes much flatter but louder and deeper than the motion plus. i just think w-king is better value but im not saying its the best speaker.

Make sure that you have disconnected pairing with anything else that you might have paired with your laptop. It might be pairing with something that's off.
But, of logic however it is not possible to use an equalizer also for the king d8? example, with the good VLC EQ? after all, there is always the need equalization in the Motion Plus ... One could buy, if doesn't have space problems, the d-king, and increased the sound with eq ... I am informing if I want to take a couple of these for an medium size room in the house, as I noticed that the doss soundbox XL and Anker has too much dispersed sound and with little bass in a medium-large room like the ours ... thank you for this technical review
yes you can software eq, for me i find them more trouble than they are worth and rarely can eq just the right place. i only really review for hwardware eq since it will work on all devices and players. are you using a translator? :) i dont fully understand your question. sorry.
the w king sounded really distorted at max vol. I don't get it. Why didn't you mention that or was it mic distortion due to pressure level? at lower levels of w king does make me question xtreme 2 sound quality vs price.

maybe not in this one but in most d8 videos. i always say its a noisy ass speaker and eq mode at max is very distorted and a hard listen. but hey for a lot of people that doesnt matter.

they are very different, w-king if you want big bass and big volume, motion plus if you want a bit more detail and can give up some bass. i use custom eq all the time on my motion plus. 👍😜
at a $70 investment with ALL the world internet to source 3rd party brands not in stores, I know this its category bracket best value at the updated 2020 edition, I just cant think of the social situation anymore being part of my life that such a radius of space would care to partake of my music tastes or socialize within my entertaining.. Kinda weird coming to this realization watching an overpowered budget speaker review, but it represents how I feel now.
Each and review I've watched the past couple of days I've come to find that everyone is killing the Xtreme 2. Is it really that awful? I just bought it a couple of days ago and I am kinda enjoying it. But if I can find a better speaker half it's price, then I'll probably have to return my Xtreme 2. What is your opinion? And all reviews say that motion plays louder than the Xtreme 2. I'm not sold on the motion plus either if it's "just" louder. Since I want an overall good sounding speaker. And I also understand that the motion plus comes with a lot of flaws as well. With pairing two speakers, weak and unstable battery life, EQ's constantly resetting etc. And now there's W-King which is better than a plugged in Xtreme 2 and the motion plus. And the W-King is at the same price range as the motion plus. So I'm pretty confused. And I'm obviously not quite happy with knowing that there's 60$ speakers out there that are way better than the Xtreme 2. I brought a Charge 3 last week and D8 this week, I downloade a sound meter app on my phone and Charge 3 was max 88db and D8 max 90Db, i was wondering how this can be right if D8 50w compared to Charge 3 20w, shouldn't it be over twice as loud?
first off a sound app on your phone? you think that is anyway accurate???? second have you activated the eq mode on the d8 which is the louder mode? third off what did you measure for the audio, at what volume and at what distance?
The w king is only 25 watts rms. Lacks good base, lacks highs. It has an open sound but like all Chinese products is underwhelming but only worth its price. If you don't have money I reccomend it, but if you have get something else. Your not going to be pleasantly surprised or yet blown away by anything, anything chinese. I have this and with my car windows down its not loud enough. And battery life is probably 4, not 24 or 40 and believe me you will have it turned up all the time in eq bass.
Très bonne vidéo ! Ma XB40 est morte et je cherche une nouvelle enceinte. J'en étais très content, mais là j’hésite entre plusieurs modèles dans la même gamme de prix et je n'arrive pas à prendre une décision = D fine / D fine+ - XB41 - Motion + - W-king D8 (ou mini?) ??? Sachant que je souhaite avoir de la puissance , surtout des basses puissantes et "vibrantes" (un vrai ressenti quoi!) , un mode ultra bass est super car on peut justement adapter les basses en fonction du son qu'on écoute. Avec aussi un bon son audible pas "étouffé" et sans distorsions. Sachant que j'écoute un peu de tout, du rock, punk, métal, en passant par du gros son electro/hardtek/D'n'B ... mais aussi des sons plus "posés" avec de la voix et instru plus calme. Et si je peux l'utiliser pour des films ou séries (je serais moins exigent que pour la musique) ce serait top ! Donc en fait elle doit être polyvalente. Enfin, l'autre point important c'est l'autonomie ... Au départ la D fine (ou la +) était en tête de liste mais l'autonomie m'inquiète un peu, d'autant + qu'elle se charge seulement avec son chargeur. Et puis pas de mode Ultra Bass... Du coup la XB41 est passée devant, car : Bon son (même si XB40 meilleur... mais + chère). Bonnes basses avec mode Ultra Bass. Autonomie ++. Possibilité de charger en usb. Appli pour réglages du son (et autre) Bref ça se joue surtout entre XB41 et D fine (ou D fine+ ?) et D8 ...mais quand je vois le motion+ qui est plus compact et avec un très bon son, j'hésite encore plus. Même si j'ai l'impression que la motion+ a moins de basses et un son plus "froid" 🤔 . Donc si je peux avoir un peu d'aide de la part des gens qui ont des retours concrets concernant ces modèles ... The form factor is surprising. Looks nothing like the D8. The D9 has a integrated handle (no strap) and it also has a huge exposed passive radiator that shoots bass out the back. Very similar to the Bugani speakers, specifically the M83 and M90.
I don't know why but most of the people loves the clearity the deep base the music speration on the extreme 2 including me also really it sound like a premium speaker but why don't you realize that man??
It’s funny. There are like 3 to 4 companies with speakers (maybe more) with the exact same aesthetics. 2 here in The States. Alpatronix and, of course, W-King. Supposedly, even though theses 2 speakers look exactly the same, they sound different. I know the housing is probably made in the same factory. Don’t know about the guts though....and if all theses companies are related. I know you don’t know the answers to these questions. I just find it strange.
i dont know either, maybe its just one company using resellers. the website weiking.cn just shows what i assume is the older spec speakers for the d8 and d8 mini. so i guess there are two versions of the speakers. older as bluetooth 4.2 and newer bluetooth 5.

I have 5 bluetooth speakers including W-KING, Anker Soundcore Motion Plus and the JBL Xtreme (1) and the Anker Soundcore Motion Plus is my favourite for sound quality and portability, although I do love my W-KING as well, especially for its loudness. Indoors it sounds just okay, but outdoors is where it really shines and places it (almost) on par in terms of sound quality with Anker Soundcore Motion Plus. W-KING is still the best bang for the buck on Amazon, imo.

just got my d8 in today and after a full charge.. IT KICKS ASS! Id put it against a friends jbl anyday... ordered a second one already to pair together for tws! i originally had gotten a Lyxpro 8 inch battery PA which is wicked and blows the volume away from the wking but there corded ones are by far better then there battery PA.. annnd after sending my broken smaller unit back from a defect i was hoping to buy the 12 inch battery PA...they had sold out or prices had skyrocketed. Im super Happy with the W-king for now until I find another 12 inch lyxpro battery or just try the newer traveler version of the 8 inch..I recommend the W-king for id say medium light bass sound really good highs and mids.. will know more when i spend more time trying to figure out the dam equalizer modes since i cant find anything about them .. manual says nothing about how many or what they are.. enojoying it and cant wait for my second to pair with it!
Or, you can buy both...purchased the Soundcore as my first Bluetooth speaker back in December and I love it for the sound and the freedom that cutting the cord brings...it travels with me to the yard, garage and basement. I just grabbed the W-King last week for work...loud factory. Life is good. Now I just need to get my Iphone to play my library of MP3s.

I’ve been stuck between the Pagani, wking and wking mini. Prices are all very good now I’m 100% sold WKING is the winner I’m buying now. I’m using this for my racecar which is very loud inside and has no speakers this should be plenty loud over the exhaust.

Alright, I'm gonna buy one and hopefully hear how good this speaker is for the money.
I need a rugged outdoor, travel ready package that doesn't sound thin. Originally thought it was pretty ugly and cheap looking, kind of feel the same still, except it's performance/sound makes up for it's dump truck appeal.
I lean towards bass heavy bluetooth speakers, hope this one kicks like I believe it will.

I don't know why you don't have more subscribers, weird? I would EQ from the source to drop the midrange which will allow more clarity in the freqs that humans hear without all the overdrive. I love the eq curve you use because it's the right way! Most DJ's don't even know how to eq properly. 5k is harsh to human ears, so it should be lowered.
The trouble with mixing is second guessing what devices, setups and volumes the likely target audience will be using. Even guessing the quality of the tracks used and bitrate etc has big impact on how you will mix.

How does the W-King respond to custom equalisation at lower volumes in, say, poweramp (or a similar app)?
i just dont use software eq, not worth the trouble imho. having said that i did tamper but couldnt get it to sound right, different yes, but not right. i was just trying to get it flatter at low volume. therein lays the problem, the sounds chnages all the way up with volume making a single eq impossible.
mic turition,, I use Jetaudio app. Its the best hands down, For my wking, and for my car stereo and home theatre.

I wanted a more compact and transportable system... I do not need an extraordinary clarity and by now I have seen that with an equalizer i can do enough to improve the sound, for my point of view ... I have however noticed that everything is relative and depends on your ear ...and the imposing bass at minimum volumes we may like, and as you said at minimum levels the ear is less sensitive ...

@@Solracsiio w-king is better value, but i wouldnt say better altogether. xtreme 1 and 2 are about same volume but differ according to tracks. if you just want louder on battery then go for w-king d8. otherwise xtreme 2 for low bass rumble or xtreme 1 for upper bass punch.

In terms of the perceived maximum non-distorted loudness capability of the D8, would I be correct to assume that despite the much stronger bass, it's overall only a little louder (or space-filling) than a EQ'd Motion+?
the loud eq mode is very distorted, default mode is louder than motion plus but with deeper bass too. but its sound isnt as refined as the motion plus.
Interesting and good to know, but in relative terms (and aside from bass) how much louder can you blast various music on the king before any distortion occurs, in contrast to that with the motion set to your loudest reasonable custom eq setting?

Do you capture your frequency analysis data over the length of a song, or multiple songs (or perhaps using a frequency sweep)? I see a at least two harmonic series sets of parcials correpsonding to fundamentals at 57.5 Hz and 71 Hz in your sptrum analysis for the -w-king and I'm curious whether they are being produced by the resonant frequencies of the enclosure (or maybe woofers) or whther they are the usual peaks you see when doing a spectrum analysis using tonal music (with the peaks corresponding to the tonal centre of the music, i.e the root of the scale usually). THe series at 57.5 Hz does corresppond to what Im finding with this speaker (the w-king), which is that is is especially boomy at B-flat #1 and #2. Annoyingly so in fact, but as you say, the sound becomes really balanced at top volume. Ive tried the Energy Sistem Outdoor street, the Xtreme 2 , Energy SIstem Music box 9 , and a bunch of others (also checked out your reviews) and have gone for the w-king in the end because of the extra power. Interesting.
so the frequency analysis charts are over the whole tracks and all tracks for whatever volume test im doing. so if i do say 66% volume over two tracks the charts show the whole of both tracks. hope that helps. The charts are after any normalization if required. if i have normalised i mention this during the test clips. The frequency sweep is the one i start off with before the actual testing normally.

do you mean in a third party app? there is headroom but at top volumes you are going to get some noticeable increase in distortion.

And yes that's what I have discovered today as well, max volume and further bass boost give me distortions in bass heavy and dynamic tracks. I have nie the M+ and D8, tomorrow i will get the Dockin D Fine, but its looks that M+ is best choice with it's price, quality and size.

Any idea whether there's any delay/latency when connecting a device through the aux in? One thing Im finding is that a lot of these bluetooth speakers (all the JBL speakers in my testing so far) have a 15-100 ms delay/latency through the aux in. THis is distracting if you use the speaker for playing keybard/guitar in little gigs and dont have a little foldback speaker going on . As you'll know, that kind of latency is loads when youre trying to play an instrument. The way I test and confirm this before buying a speaker is by splitting the output from my phone using a splitter cable, then connecting one of the jacks to one speaker (the one I'm testing) and the other jack a speaker which I have which I know has zero latency, and then play a piano note on my phone, or a drum sample or something. The echo effect is immediately obvious is there's a processing delay on the speaker I'm testing. My suspicion is that the heavy internal EQ of the JBLs and some others creates this latency.
ive played with the idea of testing latency testing but my testing takes long enough as it is. If i work out a consistent quick method that is consistent I will give this a go. Aux is one thing but bluetooth has many variables that might make my results different to yours.

So would you recommend buying this Alan..I just bought a Vtin soundhot r7- 50 watt and although it didnt sound to bad it only has a 4000 mah battery..Every other comparable 50 watt speaker has atleast 8000 mah batteries..I have to listen at work at full volume to drown out tool noise so i dont think the VTIN would last long without out constant recharging throughout the day..Does the W KING distort at full volume ?

not really. the sound signature is similar only at high volumes when the motion plus struggles and the w king evens out. at low to moderate the w king is nowhere near as clear and open as the motion plus.

Question about the volume level and db output. If one music source (app) plays louder than the other, does it matter what "percentage" the speaker plays at? In other words, if one app plays at let's say 70 db on 30% volume, and another plays at 70db at 45% volume, will the sound be different?
im not following this entirely. are you saying the peak is 70db? without knowing where that peak is its hard to say if the sound has changed or not. me i would record the two at the same gain level and compare tacks to see if it is indeed the same. i think if it SOUNDS the same does it matter? are you using custom eq in these apps?
Yes, this boom app has a 18 band +/- 10 db eq, but it plays much louder than the spotify app at the same Bt output volume percentage, regardless of eq settings. I've played around with all settings to try to lower the volume gain as much as possible. I guess my question is, does it matter where the db gain comes from? Either from the app or volume on the speaker?

Alan, I'm hesitating between the motion+ and this D8. I always take a speaker in my sport bag on my bike cycle. Choosing between 2.4kg and 1kg...but which one has the longest battery life?
motion plus has a big battery but battery life always comes down to volume played at and how much bass it produces. unless you really want a bass heavy speaker i would go with the motion plus.

Still waiting for the motion plus here in my end.. The sony xb32 was on sale but damn! Upon auditioning it again and turning the volume up around 80 it distorts.

Got two of these a couple of weeks ago, because Amazon had a sale, they were going for $65 each (normally $75)! So, about one third the price of the JBL Extreme 2s! ( I have two Extreme 2s, BTW)
For stereo via bluetooth, they do not need an app, unlike the JBLs! So I can play stereo from my Windows Dell XPS 9370 where there is no JBL Connect app yet. Be aware though that the bluetooth sound is delayed as you can easily see/hear the sync issue in my Nikon DSLR videos shot with my Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro. Is there an app for that? Delay the video to match the delay in the sound? I am now using cables instead of bluetooth to avoid this issue.

Great review again. But because of portability , build quality, i like the motion + more
not just portability, i prefer it at low to medium listening levels because of its greater clarity and detail. at higher volumes the w-king comes into its own as it becomes much flatter but louder and deeper than the motion plus. i just think w-king is better value but im not saying its the best speaker.

well depends on the size of the court of course, if a big crowd then i think it will get drowned on the other side, maybe two of these will be the answer.

Make sure that you have disconnected pairing with anything else that you might have paired with your laptop. It might be pairing with something that's off.
But, of logic however it is not possible to use an equalizer also for the king d8? example, with the good VLC EQ? after all, there is always the need equalization in the Motion Plus ... One could buy, if doesn't have space problems, the d-king, and increased the sound with eq ... I am informing if I want to take a couple of these for an medium size room in the house, as I noticed that the doss soundbox XL and Anker has too much dispersed sound and with little bass in a medium-large room like the ours ... thank you for this technical review
yes you can software eq, for me i find them more trouble than they are worth and rarely can eq just the right place. i only really review for hwardware eq since it will work on all devices and players. are you using a translator? :) i dont fully understand your question. sorry.

they are very different, w-king if you want big bass and big volume, motion plus if you want a bit more detail and can give up some bass. i use custom eq all the time on my motion plus. 👍😜

ive made a note but im doing other things for now :)
I change the eq with my phones built in eq and I can lower the bass so it's not thumpy for my uses its fine.
I'm more than happy with my pair of D8's but had to order 2 D8 mini's as they are only £33.99 on amazon right now :-p

Each and review I've watched the past couple of days I've come to find that everyone is killing the Xtreme 2. Is it really that awful? I just bought it a couple of days ago and I am kinda enjoying it. But if I can find a better speaker half it's price, then I'll probably have to return my Xtreme 2. What is your opinion? Should I return my Xtreme 2? What should I get instead then?
your enjoying it, keep it. the xtreme 2 has a bass you wont get elsewhere for the money, that rumbly deep bass. not much else though. :)
@@alanrossreviews Hmm yeah but I'm kinda confused now. Since everyone is talking about the motion plus as well. I don't really care about the loudness as much as the sound quality. And all reviews say that motion plays louder than the Xtreme 2. I'm not sold on the motion plus either if it's "just" louder. Since I want an overall good sounding speaker. And I also understand that the motion plus comes with a lot of flaws as well. With pairing two speakers, weak and unstable battery life, EQ's constantly resetting etc. And now there's W-King which is better than a plugged in Xtreme 2 and the motion plus. And the W-King is at the same price range as the motion plus. So I'm pretty confused. And I'm obviously not quite happy with knowing that there's 60$ speakers out there that are way better than the Xtreme 2. Then I might just as well return it and start looking for something else cheaper.

@@slippinnjimmy well do my comparisons not help? the motion plus is much clearer and more detailed but does not have the low bass the xtreme 2 has. Only you can decide which is more important. if you want something between the two dont rule out the xb40 secondhand. what is your budget? have you looked at the minirig options?
@@alanrossreviews I paid 200$ for my Xtreme 2 so I guess my budget is anything under that 200$ and still be better than the Xtreme 2. I listen to hip hop music for the most. So I like a nice bass and clear vocals. It's kinda confusing with all the countless reviews online. But I'll have to check out the Sony and Minirig as well. Thanks.
U should look into the Anker Soundcore Rave mini it's 80 watts for 149

I brought a Charge 3 last week and D8 this week, I downloade a sound meter app on my phone and Charge 3 was max 88db and D8 max 90Db, i was wondering how this can be right if D8 50w compared to Charge 3 20w, shouldn't it be over twice as loud?
first off a sound app on your phone? you think that is anyway accurate???? second have you activated the eq mode on the d8 which is the louder mode? third off what did you measure for the audio, at what volume and at what distance?
You have to increase wattage by 10 to get double the loudness, double the wattage only increases maximum loudness by 3db
The w king is only 25 watts rms. Lacks good base, lacks highs. It has an open sound but like all Chinese products is underwhelming but only worth its price. If you don't have money I reccomend it, but if you have get something else. Your not going to be pleasantly surprised or yet blown away by anything, anything chinese. I have this and with my car windows down its not loud enough. And battery life is probably 4, not 24 or 40 and believe me you will have it turned up all the time in eq bass.
Buy a xtreme 3 then if you think 300€ is going to help you...

Ma XB40 est morte et je cherche une nouvelle enceinte. J'en étais très content, mais là j’hésite entre plusieurs modèles dans la même gamme de prix et je n'arrive pas à prendre une décision = D fine / D fine+ - XB41 - Motion + - W-king D8 (ou mini?) ???
Sachant que je souhaite avoir de la puissance , surtout des basses puissantes et "vibrantes" (un vrai ressenti quoi!) , un mode ultra bass est super car on peut justement adapter les basses en fonction du son qu'on écoute. Avec aussi un bon son audible pas "étouffé" et sans distorsions. Sachant que j'écoute un peu de tout, du rock, punk, métal, en passant par du gros son electro/hardtek/D'n'B ... mais aussi des sons plus "posés" avec de la voix et instru plus calme. Et si je peux l'utiliser pour des films ou séries (je serais moins exigent que pour la musique) ce serait top ! Donc en fait elle doit être polyvalente. Enfin, l'autre point important c'est l'autonomie ...
Au départ la D fine (ou la +) était en tête de liste mais l'autonomie m'inquiète un peu, d'autant + qu'elle se charge seulement avec son chargeur. Et puis pas de mode Ultra Bass... Du coup la XB41 est passée devant, car : Bon son (même si XB40 meilleur... mais + chère). Bonnes basses avec mode Ultra Bass. Autonomie ++. Possibilité de charger en usb. Appli pour réglages du son (et autre)
Bref ça se joue surtout entre XB41 et D fine (ou D fine+ ?) et D8 ...mais quand je vois le motion+ qui est plus compact et avec un très bon son, j'hésite encore plus. Même si j'ai l'impression que la motion+ a moins de basses et un son plus "froid" 🤔 .
Donc si je peux avoir un peu d'aide de la part des gens qui ont des retours concrets concernant ces modèles ... Merci bcp.

W-King just released a new Bluetooth speaker. It’s called the D-9. Supposedly it’s 60w.

The form factor is surprising. Looks nothing like the D8. The D9 has a integrated handle (no strap) and it also has a huge exposed passive radiator that shoots bass out the back. Very similar to the Bugani speakers, specifically the M83 and M90.

I don't know why but most of the people loves the clearity the deep base the music speration on the extreme 2 including me also really it sound like a premium speaker but why don't you realize that man??

It’s funny. There are like 3 to 4 companies with speakers (maybe more) with the exact same aesthetics. 2 here in The States. Alpatronix and, of course, W-King. Supposedly, even though theses 2 speakers look exactly the same, they sound different. I know the housing is probably made in the same factory. Don’t know about the guts though....and if all theses companies are related. I know you don’t know the answers to these questions. I just find it strange.
i dont know either, maybe its just one company using resellers. the website weiking.cn just shows what i assume is the older spec speakers for the d8 and d8 mini. so i guess there are two versions of the speakers. older as bluetooth 4.2 and newer bluetooth 5.
...Its has balanced bass vs sub- Bass Resonance of the JBL....
its also very volume dependent on how much bass you get.
How do I charge this
about £5 an hour.
It's 24 Watts RMS. Quite meaningless, actually because it's the speaker efficiency that determines the _more important_ SPL (sound pressure level).
Its not meaningless, its one of several factors.
It's obvious that the xtreme2 sounds way better than the W-king.
