It's also undeniably a beautiful place but it's the people ( Not all anyway) makes it the loneliest, Selfish place to stay, Most people don't Care at each other at all...When you keep smiling at people they think you are crazy & when you sing/hum randomly, They call you weird and when you are too kind/ Helpful, They think you have Bad motives or a terrorist which is totally opposite of what I been used to growing up in the Philippines... That's why we will be going back home in the Happiest Place Philippines Soon & stay there for good.😍 Philippines maybe a 3rd world country but it's the Filipino people that makes it a beautiful place to live, Where Filipinos treat locals & foreigners equally with respect & Love💝
I totally agree. America is very lonely and things that seem normal such as smiling or being friendly is seen as a threat to many people. There are amazing Americans but majority Make us feel unwelcome here sadly.
No. 6.. US chain restaurants in the Philippines are 3 x better!! Dennys in the US are getting bad in terms of service and menu but when I was in Cebu and meet my former American co-worker who recently retired we were blown away by how much Denny's restaurant was way way better in terms of service and the food was so good than in the USA
US Chain restaurants in Manila are now charging service charge just to eat there, I found this out by eating at a TGIF in Robinson Mall near the US embassy, what a rip off. Seems to becoming more common in Manila each trip I take there.

Secondly, many cruise ships around the world prefer Filipino staff because they speak English and have a good sense of hospitality.

Totally Ed. I also have a video called "The #1 Worst Thing About The Philippines" ua-cam.com/video/XWq19I-NsF8/v-deo.html ...I think it's important to hear various perspectives.
#9 yes! I relate much to that! Seeing them with a big smile means a lot small or big things. Every June 01 we’re giving away school supplies to a lot of less fortunate kids in southern part of the country the number of kids is increasing every year. But sharing your blessing is very rewarding.
Unparalleled meaning unequalled; top of the scales. But I'll have to disagree on this. The Syrians, Iranians, and Western Samoans are quite hospitable, too ! I'm Filipino.
You’re entitled to your own opinion. The expository” Unparalleled” word still stands. The nationalities you’ve mentioned might have some semblance of being hospitable, to some degree per se, as all other nationalities but Filipino hospitality is one of a kind, hence it’s unparalleled.
The "sue happy" comments really sticks out to me. We're in California, the sue capital! You have no freedom here. The Philippines is such a beautiful country. Great video. ~ EAT TRAVEL HAPPY :)
I so agree with you about building deep and lasting friendship in the Philippines. I've been living here in Canada for more than 13 years now and I couldn't find a true friend. In the Philippines I have a few friends who are ever dependable, loyal and sincere and are like blood sisters/brothers whom I miss very much.
The best I really like is the "sue". I'll sue you, I'll sue you. Even your friend whom you invited in your house that slip and fall in your floor will sue you in the states. One more thing are some of the newer electronics like cellphones or car stereo will show up first in the Philippines because of its close proximity to Japan and South Korea.
So true. The Philippines is a testbed for most newer design electronic gadgets. On my previous visits to the Philippines, I noticed that newer stereos and TVs were already available for sale then in a few months it showed in the US.
Being an OFW, the suing issue kinda works both ways. Yes, we filipinos can be less serious in terms of "legal matters" but other nationalities can also view this as being reckless, particularly in a professional working environment. Coz personally whatever gets me thru the day without anyone getting seriously hurt is acceptable. And that mentality of mine gets me in trouble at work. But yeah i like it better back home... less stressful
I find it so strange that in the west many people are easily offended even in a most ridiculous reason. In the Philippines, the more you are close to your friends the more you make fun of each other. Sometimes you slur insults in a sarcastic and funny way but that doesn't really offend anyone. Friends are our bullies in a good way and it is the testament of our friendship, that is when we laugh at each other's mess and take insults for fun.
Helping others such a plus here! And my priorities are improved here, where money can be helpful - a lot!! - but friendship, conversation, a prayer, practice English (or Tagalog!) and needing household help / handyman - and paying for it - are other ways of giving.
Maybe we are all just a positive thinker. We always look on the bright side even there is no bright side. Worrying wont solve anything. Just smile and the solution will come eventually hehehe THAT'S PINOY

I like people who are disciplined, most filipinos are not, you go to bangkok and the streets are super clean because the vendors help with the cleaning
Mark ledesma It’s true, if discipline is really important to you, go to Germany. I guarantee you’ll be impressed; I know I was.
But if it’s more important for you to have warmth, companionship, empathy, generosity, and good relationships then go to the Philippines. It’s no accident it’s called “the friendliest place on Earth”.
@ john lacey i moved to the philippines in 2011, at that time i was obese at 235 lbs and balding, my 11 mile drive to work takes an hour back and forth whether i use the freeway or surface roads plus the stress at work, the philippines is a godsend and in a 6 year relationship with a guy 22 years younger than me so a win win for both of us hahaha had i stayed in southern california i have to deal with scraps and frequent visits to ER for chest pains, 25 years ago my haircut at my favorite salon was $20, now less than a dollar and they have ac too
Mark ledesma Mark, I’m glad to hear the move to PH has been a lifesaver. You probably wouldn’t have had the same kind of new lease on life in Germany! I’m looking to do the same kind of thing... I’m overweight, high BP, pre-diabetic, fatty liver, high triglycerides, always fatigued and always stressed out. Now if the Philippines were only cooler and less humid...! I’m from Canada and I melt in that heat. But hopefully it will be better if I lose a bunch of weight. Best of luck to you!
@ john lacey i lost 50 lbs in the first 9 months by walking 3 hours a day 5 days a week, still consume the same amount of soda and ice cream, i still perspire even when raining so would shower 3 times a day, my cholesterol is high so i take fish oil daily and a statin med once a week, i have other meds as well which i get at TGP, a generic pharmacy, u can opt for baguio as it is cooler

Thank you very very much for the commendation of our country's culture. I appreciated very much. Best regards.
Yup...The 1st time I came here in the US, I thought I'm gonna loss my sanity, I told my husband that America is the Saddest place I've ever been to...
Kay Cee it’s just a different culture and Americans are friendly it also depends where you go in the US
I totally agree.

@@teejaycarter2842 You have a valid point. Alas, some Filipinos still suffer from colonial mentality so they give preferential treatment to foreigners esp. any white-skinned foreigner. In my first years here in Canada, I used to smile at fellow Filipinos, but, some of them looked the other way or pretended not to see me. It was so frustrating and demeaning. I agree the movie theaters in the Philippines is way better than the US. Comparing the theaters in the whole Bay Area (San Francisco) is nothing to the ones like Bonifacio Global City, Bonifacio High Street.
pano po?
Yes its true.. the theater are smaller and the sound system is not as good as in Philippines.
But when i watch 5 or 6 movies paying once at amc16 in burbank then i got a bargain, they have 16 screens with 16 different movies plus the popcorn and soda are refillable
Here in Idaho, our local theater has electronic reclining seats.
Though what I notice is...a lot of old establishments don't get regular renovations. Unlike in the Philippines where establishments like restaurants and theaters get updated every couple of years to stay competitive.
Our movie theater in Maryland has the same feature electronic reclining seat , leather, you can order food just like you are in a restaurant, and the Good thing is the theater is not always crowded it feels like you own the Theater hahah sarap buhay di ba :-)

An added observation- In the USA, If you are in the hospital, hope and pray you get a filipina nurse, because she will be the best in terms of caring for patients in a kind and compassionate way. #9 yes! I relate much to that! Seeing them with a big smile means a lot small or big things. Every June 01 we’re giving away school supplies to a lot of less fortunate kids in southern part of the country the number of kids is increasing every year. But sharing your blessing is very rewarding.
The hospitality of the Filipino people is unparalleled. That’s a common knowledge.
What did you say about my country
What do you mean
Unparalleled meaning unequalled; top of the scales.
But I'll have to disagree on this. The Syrians, Iranians, and Western Samoans are quite hospitable, too !
I'm Filipino.
You’re entitled to your own opinion. The expository” Unparalleled” word still stands. The nationalities you’ve mentioned might have some semblance of being hospitable, to some degree per se, as all other nationalities but Filipino hospitality is one of a kind, hence it’s unparalleled.

Speaking of beaches try boracay and palawan I'm sure you gonna love it..
Friends are our bullies in a good way and it is the testament of our friendship, that is when we laugh at each other's mess and take insults for fun.
yes because Philippines is a materialistic country like their own master USA.
