- One of the most impressive parts of the new Lexus IS is its top-level Mark Levinson audio system. With 1800 watts of peak power and 17 well-balanced speakers, it leads the way in the small luxury sedan audio game.

The fact that the audio is coming through the camera and it sounds like it was edited into the video, is really really impressive. Good job Lexus
when he turns on the volume up my mind became amazed
literally
@@Luizboii duh
I like the first song. Lexus has really stepped it up by adding touchscreen infotainment. I’ve always been a Lexus/Toyota fan. Reliable and well built cars.
It's hip shop remix by deoxys beats. Really a catchy tune
This guy was going 75mph soo smoothly, it looks like he was going 40mph
Damn! I thought that was in km/h! Nice
This car's chassis and road composure is impressive.
Mind HunTer gorgeous vehicle but thats the 1080p - 60fps.
That is because it's a Lexus.
Mind HunTer car has very good suspension. I was surprised by the near non existing body roll, especially for a car weighing 3800 lbs?
A beautiful Wisconsin Sunday afternoon with that stereo system: Priceless. For anything else: you are on your own.
That was a real beast of a sound system, odd how Volvo and Lexus which are considered to be slightly traditional in comparison to the Germans have the best sound systems.
The Germans do a lot of gimmicks, but the top end bmw systems are great same with the Mercedes burmester systems
I miss my 2017 lexus is. I didn't have the "mark levinson" but those speaker from my lexus were something different level of experience. You could of hear the person singing in front of you every type of music. A true audiophile
What happened to it?
Yesss the best car audio system reviews on youtube❤️❤️
Thanks for making these❤️❤️
More to come!
I have a 2006 is350 and I was convinced I had the ML because of how good the sound was but I don’t I can’t even imagine how good the upgraded ML is.
You have to get your hands on a Lexus LS500. Test out that 2400Watt system in that car.
I have been watching your videos now for some days and like them very much! Please keep up the great work! Greetings from Germany :)
The "Ending EDM" is literally healing my ears lol
Nice review…and way to keep your eyes on the road!
I have a Levinson system in my ‘15 RC350, and had been running it with the surround on. I was clicking around this morning, and switch the surround off, and thought it sounded better. Your experience seemed to confirm this…my ears do not deceive. Thanks.
You need to play around with the balance, fade and EQ with surround on as it does change the balance a bit. I found moving the system towards the rear and shaving off some mids with surround on kept a good balance while retaining the surround DSP.
Damn that sounds good. Good job!
I can feel the power of that bass from opposite side of the earth
8:00 that bass drop is 🔥
Does a similar sound system option come in the is350? Comparable to the 2400watt in the LS500?
@@TheNuclearBolton this is the is350
This really did sound amazing. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Hope you can do 5-8 min, no music drive on the highway. Would like to see the quietness of the new Is. My 18 A4 got some noticeable tire noise with about 25000km when over 60-80km.
IS has road noise, more noticable than other lexus's
That is a great idea! We will take that into consideration for our fuel economy videos!
@@rawjor No it doesn't lol. Tire noise? Yes. But after switching to different tires it went away.
The base stereos on those cars sound pretty great as well
I have a 2016 Lexus IS250 F sport and the sound system sounds so darn good.
The track at around 9:00 is phenomenally beautiful and emotional
Can you review the Lexus ES 350 with Mark Levinson audio? Preferably 2013 if you can get your hands on it, if not any later year models. And thank you so much for having an almost dedicated channel for car audio systems, you are the best! Thank you.
Dope sound dope 🎧
This Car is Fun.
Greetings from Germany
The sub must have been really powerful; can even hear it through the recording
I have the 2018 Lexus GS 350 f sport with the Mark Levinson system. I don’t like it the door speakers are terrible and all the front dash speakers plays the highs while the sub woofer isn’t really great. The tweeters are okay. I’m going to change out the speakers and get me an highs and mid amp along with a 2 channel bass amp.
The Acura tlx also has an impressive sound system, but that really sounded good, & that's really important to me in a car because I listen to a lot of music
except the lexus IS has a problem with its audo where it resets alot, mine started having this issues recently and sometimes it doesn't even turn on, lexus says they need to replace the whole thing its going to cost 2500
@@rawjor Wow! Yeah that's never happened with any of the Acuras I've owned, I currently drive a 2018 tlx aspec, so that's something I would not be happy with because I listen to a lot of music
Ya but the accura is going to need 2 Transmissions before it hits 100k miles.
@@slowgoat6089 That's some of the older models, & the 15-17 tlx which they have since updated the computer system, my 12 tL had a great transmission, & I made sure I changed the fluid at 30,000 miles, but you are correct & I actually new someone personally with whom this happened to.
The lexus IS is noiser than the TLX though. The fake engine noise in the IS doesn't completely turn off, like the TLX in comfort mode.
how is this thing cruising down the highway at 70+ mph and so serene and quiet.
My friends base 2022 Lexus NX has more bass than the new IS 17ML but the quality is better on the IS
Awesome😃 Great review Charlie😊
It'd be better to do this by using the CD player instead of a USB drive. That's why Toyota/Lexus decides to keep the CD player because of better sound quality. Moreover, next time, try using music from Hans Zimmer
. His music is a masterpiece.
Worth noting, Acura also kept aux input and usb in their cars. I'd rather have AUX, than no CD player.
With : WAV, ALAC and FLAC, there are no longer losses because of compression. In fact the audio quality exceeds that of CDs
@@Zigma72 you do realize CD's use .Wav format right? You aren't gaining anything by just using a CD over USB playback. The same DAC is being used to convert the music file!
Hence my argument, an external music player via aux will be better quality than the integrated headunit processor.
The audio system in here is unbelievable.
realy cool review man, but can you tell me pls the song name at 7:47, it is not listet in the description.
Would love to see more of the exterior
He has a review on his channel showing the car exterior.
says the audio is lossless in order to give us the best results... on a compressed youtube video
Yes, but we're hearing it lossless in order to properly evaluate it.
@@DailyMotor I completely misheard. Didn't think that you were talking about the audio going into the car. That one is on me. In any case, new to the channel, and love the song choices!
Does anyone know how many watts are in the 10 speaker Pioneer system? Thanks in advance
8:50 what track is that ?
Hello, I am very grateful for your effort and your content. Can you try the new Kia K7 2020 Elvis Lift Kia Cadenza full-featured version also there are many looking for this vehicle
Compared to the Acura TLX ELS sound system, which one wins in a shootout? This one or the ELS? Based on the bass "slap" you were getting on the ELS, vs. the "shaking mirror" of this one, it would seem this one wins. Would that be accurate?
Acura ELS 3d is better than Mark levinson in IS. Music is more than Bass, SMH.
@@barbecuetechtips6024 That is true, it is more than bass; however, most stock systems are underwhelming in this regard, failing to provide even adequate performance. I don't need it to "thump", but I don't want it to "slap" either. Hence the question as I was curious. God bless.
ELS can’t touch ML, best sound system in any car
@@Yoursistersazz 4 comments down and he mentioned the ELS in the tlx sounds superior
Can I upgrade my basic speakers on Lexus ES 300h to mark livenson ?
Omg the sound is amazing. How can I play this wonderful sounds in a Lexus?
How would you compare this to the Lexus GX sound system? Or the Volvo S90
Next, should try 2021 Genesis g70 premiums sound system and Acura TLX type s premiums sound system. I want to see those stack against this system. Very nice testing!
My G70 is awesome , great bass.
Yooooo it's my dad's audio system
fine review but i wish you would signal before changing lanes bro
Back seat driver. 🤦♂️
😂 JK
Sounds very good
bass 👌🏽❤️
Just to confirm, the ML system in this model is superb but lacking in the 2022 Lexus ES ??
The problem with this 2021+ LexusI IS 350 are hard to find with Mark Levinson system. Mark Levinson is more common on the 2022+ Lexus IS 500 but way more money compared to IS 350.
Any chance to test Mark Levinson 17 speakers on 2020 Lexus ES 350.
Its the same as this one. I have the 2020 ES350 Fsport with ML audio and the one in the 2021 IS350 fsport is the same carryover
@@TeslaRuns Thank you, it sounds great .
Do you realize that 99% of us are listening to this on 6mm speakers? We have absolutely no idea how it sounds, ya genius!
I will be honest every car should have the same joystick a mazda 3 has. Only using the touch screen is so annoying while driving but I can use the joystick with my eyes closed
How would you compare it to the 590 MBUX in the Mercedes Benz A-220?
Please try audi a8 bang olufsen advanced soundsyste, not the premium you tried on q5. 1920 Watts of power and 23 speakers
Would you mind telling me that songs‘ name from5:12 to7:50,thank you
how would you compare to stock audio system in the IS? anyone?
Ive tested both Pioneer Premium (stock) and Mark Levinson and i can say that the Pioneer audio sucks, There's no bass and its quiet compared to the Mark Levinson sound system.
How does the new ML system work? My 2018 IS 350 F has the older 800+ watt system with fifteen, I believe, speaker system. Is the sub a dedicated larger size? Haven’t seen much info on the new 21 IS ML
Do you know what Bluetooth codec is used? That appears to be the only way to get a straight digital signal into the system from a phone.
Is it good in the 2021 ES??
what do you like more? Do you lke the mark levinsons or the Bowers in the XC60?
Bowers
Did you know toyota crown high end models has 18 speakers 5.1 surround. Mirror shaker also lol
Ooooo
I regret watching this video I have a 2021 Lexus is350 and I don’t have the mark Levinson audio and now I’m regretting it lol
What is the song name at 10:30?
I will be buying a 350 this weekend 😂😊😊😊
“ASL automatically adjusts the volume and tone quality according to the vehicle speed.”Has nothing to do with balancing out the sound.
Yes it adjusts frequencies as such so you can more clearly hear mids highs and bass at speeds no volume adjustments...almost works somewhat like noise canceling
As per Lexus website:
“First, there’s the Automatic Sound Levelizer, which you can turn on or off. When ASL is turned on, the system automatically adjusts the volume and tone quality according to vehicle speed-in other words, it takes into account the ambient noise of a traveling vehicle and continually makes adjustments to keep the sound crisp.”
So, it’s both... Just sayin’...
Justin I think it’s different from one system to another so no one answer is correct
George Mocan Precicely!! You’re both correct!! Volume is clearly stated in their own definition... But, to clarify for the first fellas initial comment, adjusting tone inherently means balancing out the sound, which by their definition is “crisp”...
Justin on the Jbl system in my Toyota it does exactly what Charlie said makes music sound fuller and richer with a more fuller bass sound to compensate for a road noise
What system does a 2021 IS350 F Sport 3 have? because I tried looking into it and couldn’t find anything in options in Canada.
Can't get the f sport with the Mark Levinson in Canada. Which is a real shame.
Yes, you do get the 17 speakers ML with F Sport 3 package
Thanx for the Mark Levinson review. Hopefully you'll be able to review the standard Lexus Premium Sound System (with no available Navigation). Location and size of the amplifier, the location/size/ type of speakers, if the low level audio output of the factory head unit is on MOST bus over copper or fiber or analog, if that signal is fixed or variable and whether it is a flat full range signal. All this info is required at a minimum to plan out a full aftermarket replacement sound system installation. The standard system will of course need an aftermarket upgrade, which if designed correctly, will sound MUCH better than any ML system. Presently there is no aftermarket integration/interface device that interprets the Lexus low level audio MOST bus over copper/fiber when the car is configured with Mark Levinson and/or Navigation, making it very difficult to interface an aftermarket DSP/ amplifiers/speakers system to a Lexus car w/available ML and/or Navigation. Since UA-cam compressed audio is terrible and the sound of our phone/computers is not the best sounding of playback devices, playing music in your reviews is a waste of time and gives your viewers no valid info...just saying. The actual system layout, how the speakers are wired to the amp, the resistance/ohms type and size of the speakers, the location, size how many channels and power of the amp and the head unit low level audio output topology is what is useful. Hopefully you take my comments as they are intended...as constructive criticism geared towards more helpful audio reviews in the future.
I have it. It’s not too bad but I’m having buyers remorse lol
@@andrewbcastilloo If you mean you have the ML Sound System, yeah it's "OK". Problem is, w/ML and/or Navigation, the MOST bus used w/those systems makes it very difficult to upgrade to an aftermarket system. I recommend to most people passing on these two optional pieces of equipment, use Google Maps for nav and take the est. $2,000 ML costs and spend it towards a proper aftermarket system using an integration device that outputs a flat pre-amp signal to aftermarket DSP and Amplifiers. Rip out the ML speakers and install proper tweeters, midrange, midbass and subwoofers. Get an Astell & Kearn DAP as a source into the DSP as well as the integration device source.
Honestly having a custom aftermarket installation on a brand new car is not easy, you will have to do a solid job. I see Lexus IS has the best speaker placement of most of the modern cars. It's listed on Mark Levinson website where they placed the speakers, this car even has Rear Speakers in Stereo with a massive sub. Plus both Doors have Woofer systems on top.
@@Cleofizoidto be honest I understand you completely. I had a 2002 Toyota Camry V6 with the JBL premium sound system and they told me at a sound system shop that I needed to purchase an additional part $350 just to get by pass the factory premium system because Toyota made it impossible to use aftermarket stuff for the head unit. I have the 2021 Lexus IS 350 f sport and passed on the ML. You can get a way better audio system for half that price without the hassle to still work with your factory head unit
Could you do a in-family PK with its ES350 brother? Thanks
Am I wrong or did the reviewer take down his fuel economy and driving POV videos of the 2021 Lexus IS350?
This vs Bowers in the volvo?
So the TLX ELS is superior to this it seems.
Oh absolutely!
Base settings for the ML?
Can you get the Mark Levinson system without the navigation?
Yes you can
Where did your other vids go of the IS????
Can you play FLAC files from a USB drive.?
That’s what I’m wanting to know!
put on some jcole or migos then we will know how good it sounds this don't do any justice
LMAO fr
You don’t deserve to know with Migos on your list...
Bro next time pls test with edm or r&b music
Then blast some ncs music.
There’s no point or testing speakers with the music he’s playing. No offense. I love his POV driving but not his music taste
We'll probably toss in some new songs in 2021. However, we try to have songs that are 1. High quality 2. not copyrighted and 3. Stress different aspects of the sound systems. It's not what I typically listen to on my own.
@@DailyMotor glad to hear it man. I love your POV driving!
What song was on at 8 minutes?

Basically Lexus gave us a second refresh in 2021 and will continue to milk it for another 7 yrs really Lexus 50k for a car that still has no power folding mirrors while a 32k mazda6 has that feature and a more powerful turbo engine than the is300.
the IS has power folding mirrors my guy
young satwan manguku funny i checked lexus website no mention of power folding mirrors also there is button on the driverside for it my GSfsport has a button next to the mirror tilt for folding the mirrors.
The is300 is slow AF, I was really taken back by the lack of power.
young satwan manguku does it come with led turn signals for front and back or are they still halogens.
@@youngsatwanmanguku9862 mine doesn’t have it. I have an Is350
What is the price tag
The IS 350 F sport 3.5 awd before TTL and other add on prices starts around 44,700
So Charlie have you actually had a system worth 10 points?
He should try the Ls 24 speaker 2300W mark Levinson
How is the base premium system? I’m looking to get the IS but it doesn’t have levinson.
Is horrible. If you like to "live" the music, go for ML.
price plz?
please try to get an ls500(h) with the mark levinson 2400watt system would love to hear your thought on it :)
Scheduled for December!
@@DailyMotor hell yeah looking forward to it love the channel man!

@@Nate-Aims in other countries like the netherlands (where i am from) you can get a 500h wich is a non turbo version of this v6 with a cvt and hybrid drive train (come to think of it in the netherlands you can now only buy the 500h)
@@dubbelgamer064 oh shoot LS500, thought you were talking about the is500 😅
Perhaps the Bmw G20 Harman Kardon fares poorly in relation to this Audio?
I used to work in the car rental industry. Tested everything from base kias to Porsche Cayenne, Q7, Evoque, multiple BMW 3/5/7 series, etc.
The BMW sound systems base audio are all branded systems, HK or similar. But the base audio is absolute GARBAGE. I don’t have the words to describe how terrible. I was disgusted. 12 speaker, ELS audio from Acura, only 380W or something like that was a million times better than stock audio in a BMW.
However, once you get into premium AKG, B&O, Burmeister systems in any of the German cars, it’s a different story. Those systems are UNREEEEAAAAAL
@@sshah2545 I'd hope so, since your paying double for the car and audio package alone!
1800 Watts peak probably 800 Watts RMS
1 watt is probably more than enough for everything but the sub.
Quick question, on your next audio system test can you play “Forgot by Trevor Daniel”? Or “Here with me by Marshmellow” both are very good for testing a sound system in my opinion Please :)
Unfortunately, we can't use copyrighted music in our videos or else we won't get paid :( however, you've been an OG, so next time I get a stand-out sound system, I'll film an unmonitized video with those tracks for ya. - Charlie
Daily Motor ay man thanks so much that mana a lot. You know you don’t have to do it I’d rather you get paid than a specific song played.
Never turn on sound levelizer you will loose half of you volume...
what's better the lexicon system in the top trim of the G70 or this in the new lexus iS350
Wow that’s a hard one
Lexicon is great but its not better than Levinson. Im a music person here so car stereos are important to me. I've listen to both but ultimately the Lexus was better. It has a concert sound that makes you think your in it and the bass knocks heavy as he said your seats will shake. I didn't get that with Lexicon at all. Honestly best systems Levison run up against is Bowers and Wilkins, Bang and Olfuson, but the best i ever heard was Naim which are used in Bentleys and Rolls Royce. Nothing is touching that at all.
Ari Truths yeah, in with Ari on this one. Lexicon is a really really good system. You’ll be very happy if you have it, but Mark Levinson will wipe the floor with it.
ML plays right in the very top top tier of premium audio. One of the huge features of buying a Lexus; you’ll never ge the same level of toys and gadgets as the Germans, but VS literally 90% of cars you’ll have better audio in a Lexus. An IS350 will give you way better audio than even some S-Class, A7/A8, 7-series, etc.
I wonder if 17 speakers is healthy for your ears!!! Anyways the sound is impressive
Turn it down…..duh
play carti thru that bihhhh
Would love to see the Lexus LS500
I like my 2006 is350 alot more.
Bowers & Wilkins all day long
The B&O in Audi and B&W in bmw is unmatched vs this mark levinson. I’ve never heard a better system than the B&O I had in my Audi A7.
Sign me up for one ☝️ of those
What...no vocalist in any of the music? Doesn’t seem to represent what the target market would be listing to on an average basis.
Has to be non trademark audio for UA-cam
So is it good or bad ?
When is this car hitting dealerships?
It should be by now
Does this guy realize that we’re listening through a 1/8” speaker? All we really care about is his impression, not extended audio through a 1/8” speaker 😂😂😂
This is exactly whe engine noise should NOT be heard inside the car. We paid handily for our mark levinson sound system and don’t want any gawd awful engine/exhaust noise disturbing that.
The fake engine noise is terrible in my opinion with the IS, even with it toggled off.
1800 watts is a lie honestly.
You don't know how loud would it be especially when you play a 1800watts system in such a small cabin, you will go deaf.
At max 765watts system. 45 watts RMS each speakers on average no more than that.
