I'll take a classy but 'outdated' interior any day over the modern gimmicky interiors with touch bs, piano black plastics and cheap night club-like ambient lighting...
@@HallowedLunchI hear the ES ML is not what it's supposed to be. Many complaints on edmunds about the stero. I had a LS460 wirh it and it was fantastic with CDs
For the size of the vehicle im pretty impressed by the sound and i do think they did a good job on it i think ML has the best bass of any sound system but their surround sound needs work. Charlie i was wondering would you be able to get the 2023 rx ML i hear they are really good.
Working on it! Toyota/Lexus often puts preproduction models in the press fleets to begin, and the pre-pro model we drove had a Mark Levinson without final tuning, and it didn't sound very good. We're trying to get our hands on a production model.
Interesting, I think you graded IS top tier due to it's high bass response and clarity of the 17 speakers 1800W ML audio but RC F does not hold same level of scale ? I see QLS (Quantum Logic Surround) is missing from RC F from the Mark Levinson webpage. It only has Clari-Fi.
I have a 2007 Lexus GX470 with the Mark Levinson system. Many times, its environment tuning & resolution outperforms my home system. Interesting to hear where M/L is these days. Is that tire or wind noise at 60+?
M/L is just as good as ever. The differences he is hearing are most likely just how the track was mastered. Pop songs don't tend to have the best mastering compared to some other complex or well produced electronic music.
I was quite dissapointed with the audio system in the LC500. I could not understand the hype. I have not driven that much high-end cars, but so far I have not experienced a better system than the logic7 in BMW 7 E65. I would love if you could do test on that :D
@DailyMotorSound I know quite different cars, but I was hoping a GT car of this value with mark&levinson audio, that people talk about all the time, would play much better than 20-year-old 7-series. Based on your recommendation, I tried the BW system in the Volvo S60 since you appraise the Volvo systems a lot. And I must say I it is quite amazing, playing well above its class, but like you, I was missing the EQ or even the option to control bass, treble. On top of that, me personaly, I don't like subwoofers in doors i dont like the vibrations in my arm and rattling of the dor. Nevertheless, it is the best audio I think I have experienced other than my old 7-series E65 with Logic 7. I have not yet experienced a more immersive experience in a car. I would love to try the Bentley continental 2020+ Naim system.

The interior looks awful, I can't beleive this is from anything after 2012... its really bad. Ive had multiple lexuses and I love them but the interiors are really behind
I feel you there. Apart from the Dash that is still looking futuristic today... The analogue clock they need to speak with Citizen or Seiko and bring semi luxury watches into the car. The interior does need that futuristic Japanese flair. The CD is a nice touch keep it lexus!
Great video! Please don't stop making these audio tests! They are great!
I aggre with you. I'm writing from Turkey, however EU cars doesn't look like US market cars but i feel pleasure to watching that videos.
People say lexus interiors seem outdated but I think they still look great, minus the touchpad.

i like the touchpad in my rc, it’s a nice option for when i don’t feel like using the touchscreen or just don’t want to leave fingerprints on there.
@@dd4886agreed
The touchpad is awful and I don’t have a touchscreen. Apple CarPlay is unusable in my RC
Glad to see you test the mark levinson finally
sounds like Mark Levinson systems widely differ from each others depending on the vehicle, i was surprised lexus LS was not an S tier system.
I just test drove a 22' ES, and it's Mark Levinson sound was not nearly as good as my 21' Venza JBL. I was mildly shocked.

@@federal6616 Same for my 19' ES Mark Levinson system.
Great Video, sounds better with higher volume. I have ML in my GS but need to max the settings and turn off all the other features.
What do you mean by “max the settings”? are you pertaining to bass and treble?
The surround feature makes it sound awful. I just keep mine off

I was afraid that you wont make these type of videos again, turn out there is another channel for these. thanks Charlie!
Honestly, I didn't even know in the first clip it was the in cabin audio that is insane

Always show the exact location of the subwoofer and how it looks on these reviews please. Did a good job on the 2022 cx9 but missing it on the others.
The woofer kicks very well love it !
What files can it play from USB? Will it play 5.1 wav files?
welp good thing I opt out the ML system in my IS350. I guess ill be adding a sub and amp in my trunk
Would love to see what you think about Grand Cherokee McIntosh and Lincoln Revel systems!

Have you ever tested the mark levinson in the 2016+ GS350? I'm thinking about getting one with the ML but not sure if its worth it
I haven't, but it's probably worth it
they pretty descent the bass kicks in, in higher volume overall they sound better than the base pioneer sound system @@DailyMotorSound
Better lexus is 17 speaker mark levinson?

I wonder how opera music would sound in the Mark Levinson sound system.
Versus boss or JBL????
A*? Unusual. What does that mean?
an A tier with some caveats that don't even take it to the highest A tier, even if it's still very, very good
Do you have the sound test for the new rx

and the steering wheel like in the CT200h is a joke...
Third comment.
And what relevance does that have to the video? I'd love to know your mindset.
Well, to be honest with you, there is no relevance unless I was the 17th comment to be relevant with the 17 speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
