It also depends on the use of the car. I am a collector and own 20 cars. In Europe a correct Avon or Michelin are about $400 per corner. I use them on the cars I use the most, like my Turbo R for example. On my 68 Shadow I use a brand called Radar., about $150 per corner. They are made for classic cars and they are fine since this cars drives maximum 300 miles per year. I cannot afford to have a car sitting with $1.600 dollars in tires just getting old....
Very interesting and informative indeed! Perhaps you could post the name of your recommended (and mounted) tyre manufacturer again. I could not really catch the brand name. Usually, you would use an Avon Turbosteel. On RR/B cars, the tyre noise is also crucial. Could you tell me a bit about the profile of your tyres and the noise resulting from it?
Great video, very interesting. Because I spent so much money on buying and restoring my Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit IV in the first place , makes no sense not to put new quality tires on your pride and joy. Happy Motoring.
@@rolls-royceandbentleybuyer8409 I have not used that band of tire before, but so long as they a quality and long lasting then this is all that really matters - Happy motoring,,.
@@alancrisp1582 Rodney KNOWS his tires. If he says they are good you can take it to the bank. There is one point of information on the video that is incorrect. All his ties are NEW!! He does not sell USED tires…not anymore going on 5yrs. ….Cheers🥃🇬🇧
1. 235 75 15 is *not* the correct tyre size for your Silver Spur, as your tyre-selling friend said. 2. The correct size is 235 70 15. 3. The best tyre for your car is the Avon Turbosteel 235 70 15. It was designed specifically for the ride and handling characteristics of the Rolls-Royce. Full stop.
@@rolls-royceandbentleybuyer8409 I do not believe you put the correct tyres on. They should have been only the Avon’s for the correct size of 235/70-15
Let's start with the basics. How many know the correct torque for the wheel nuts, the direction to tighten? or the proper way to remove a wheelcover or the correct way to remove the wheelcovers on coachbuilt cars? Not knowing the basics can cause a lot of aggravation. Be informed.
Great information on tires - even for driver's who don't own a Rolls :)
Thanks!🇬🇧
Fantastic questions to the tire guy. You covered it all, thanks!
Thank Tou my friend!😎🇬🇧
Got to have your white walls! Any Rolls, pre 2002, so up to & including the Seraph, must have white walls imo.
I totally agree….even thought the right hand British” motor cars generally have “black walls.”🇬🇧

I totally agree. I use my Spur every day. The tires I purchased from Rodney have been great. I have maintained a nice smooth ride.🇬🇧
James, can I ask you if the $90 for the tyre was for white wall ? and out of interest, what is the tyre size of your Roller. (UK)
