IMO Nothing has the cachet of the RR hood ornament- the renowned "Spirit of Ecstacy " It is instantly recognizable by the majority of people encountered BUT the Bentley is the "sleeper" in the performance side opulent transportation. My RR Spirit is my daily driver also! It always draws stares and conversations wherever it goes. Gas mileage? Who cares? Its got a big gas tank!! 🙂
I have a Shadow II, a T2, a Spirit and a late SZ Brooklands and in all honesty prefer driving the Bentleys. Nothing to do with handling or performance because in the case of most Bentley models sold they were much the same. I just prefer not being the centre of attention and having a better view out from the driving position.

PLEASE, please don't let that useless Susan Price vandalise your Bentley woof trim as she did to you Spur. Your comparison is poor. A Bentley 8 produced at the time of your Spur would have had an identical layout in the front without the large "though console" between the front seats so given identical space. A long wheelbase Bentley would have had the extra four inches to the rear compartment. What a buyer received was what he wanted and ordered. The through console does take up space but in all honesty it's pretty much unusable for the driver of a left hand drive car. On my Spirit and Shadow II I do like to splay my left leg across the transmission tunnel but that's because I'm in the UK. That "space" is an illusion. A standard option was a link console that could be ordered to fit between your Spur pendant console and the standard centre console.
