Water 7 to….”return to water 7” are one arc IMO. A proper saga for me would be baroque works. With whiskey peak, that giant island I forget the name of, drum island, alabasta itself……that has its own individual arcs that are part of a larger story In context, the entire water 7 and enies lobby stuff is just one story. A long story, but a singular one. Splitting it up feels like splitting up the arc after freeza into a “Android arc” and rhe “cell arc”. At the end of the day, it’s one story. The “Android arc” has no complete ending, it just is a part of a larger one.
I liked the part where Paulie is angstily telling the other shipwrights about Iceberg's actual would-be assassins, and they're all, "It's okay. You can say it." And then Paulie says it was Lucci, Kaku, Kalifa, and Blueno, and the shipwrights are downright shocked. "Wait, who did you think it was?" "[Names I don't remember] from the back alley!" "Who are they?!"
This 'arc' was close to perfect. Not too long, not too short; Developed the character that won't have the to be feveloped during the the next; showed off just how amazing the straw hats are individually; Sogeking
Nothing made my heart sink more than seeing Blueno use his Door-Door ability right when you think they actually pulled off a miracle and rescued Robin...
When you hear about someone's unbeatable form, you think power. This might be ultimate Kars, One punch man, All Might (my hero academia), Afro Luffy. I love how the most unbeatable form of all is *lying on your back* . Just beautiful
So I'm reading through all of One Piece with my kids (8 & 7) as a bedtime reading ritual. So of course when Sogeking came up I played dumb "Oh wow kids, this new character seems so cool!" They spent the better part of the week trying in vain to convince me that Ussop and Sogeking where the same person. I have to say that I have ended up crying far more during our reading then my kids have. Tonight we finished Robins backstory during Enies Lobby and I broke down a bit crying.
I have always loved this ark but I never really knew why. Part of it is pretty heavy on the trains design as well the character development given to the straw hats, regardless keep up the good work!
Have you got a video explaining all About the one of a kind "Sea Train" aka "Puffing Tom" ? And not about the story Article but the encyclopedia about the Puffing Tom itself?
I watched Marine Ford as my 1st arc when I began One Piece. When I finally decided to buy One Piece I bought collections, 1, 11, 15, 21, and after watching all those I bought #2. 11 begins with the 1st sea train episode. I don't know why I choose that dvd set 1st, maybe the Enies Lobby aspect, but the entirety of the Sea Train is just amazing. The Chase aspect as well as the constant obstacles that present themselves make it a worthwhile story. Especially how the Frankie Family after everything in Water 7 begin forming their bonds with the Straw Hats. And ending it off with Luffy jumping into Enies Lobby alone as well as Zoro's plan to launch the train. Magnificant.
I think the sea train storyline is more a part of Water 7 than Enies Lobby. It makes sense naratively but honestly mostly because I like the scene of Franky seeing the Enies Lobby fort as the final scene of the arc
Another moment I loved (apart from the ones you mentioned) is Paulie's reaction to Nami getting changed right in front of everyone. XD I love Paulie, he makes me laugh.
I really did enjoy this transitionary arc as you said for how unique it was. Also, Sanji vs. Wanzi was great. I appreciated the battle for how unique Wanzi was and how Sanji had to break his creed about using knives, justifying he was in a kitchen. It is nice knowing that now given Whole Cake Island and how Sanji possibly saw that as akin to using a Sword which would remind him a lot of Judge and the Vinsmokes. I love the Sogeking stuff, but the Zoro vs T-bone fight; I still remember that moment. T-Bone was always my favorite minor character in One Piece due to his design being like a knight. And it was cool to see him acknowledge Zoro after his defeat. I kind of want him to make an appearance in Wano.
Oh, the wind carries my name... From Sniper Island far away... When I take aim, it is straight and true... Lu lu la la lu... Whether you're a man or a mouse... Lock on! I will put your heart in my sights... LOCK ON! No one knows what secrets hide... Behind this mask and my cape... Lu lu lu lu lu la la! There is no escape! (Sniper King sniper pa pa) Sniper King aims true!
Plus, That scene where CP9 with Franky and Robin in tow, are walking to the Main Gate, Marines lined up on one side, Low-Tier CP Agents on the other. That EPIC Zoom-Out of the Tower of Law mixed with various shots of the Island and Franky In Total Shock, All with "Karakuri Defense System, Activate!" Playing as it's all going down. That episode in particular is what made that Track my Favorite out of One Piece's OST. LOVE THIS ARC TO DEATH!!!
The flow of water 7, sea train, and enis lobby is so good. The reason why enis lobby is so good is the set up from water 7 and sea train happened that built up towards the fast paced conclusion
I love the Water7/Enies Lobby Arc. It is my favorite arc....I think, I don't know I just got done reading Paramount War and that was really good too, so yeah......
I think it can not be overstated just how strong Sogeking embodies One Piece's theme of friendship. Sure, it's easy to rush to the aid of a friend if you are confident in your strength like Zoro or Sanji or if you just don't have any doubts like Ruffy. But none of this applies to Ussop. He knows that he will be outmatched worse than ever before and that he will make the entire world government his personal enemy if he attacks Enies Lobby. Even more he is no longer a part of the Strawhats and Robin was always the coldest and most distant crew member. So he has a lot of reasons not to go and the only weak reason to plunge himself into danger is that Robin was his friend and not even a super close one at that. But he still goes, because Sniper Island is in his heart and that is where Sogeking comes from. I know it's a common joke that Sogeking and Ussop are different characters but in a way that is true. Sogeking is Ussop's core with all the doubt and all the lies removed; he is what truely drives and defines Ussop as a member of the Strawhats. Outer appearences and inner monologue aside the ways they act and carry themselves are barely similar yet they are still the same character. And this is one of the beauties of this short connecting arc and the next one.
I miss the Franky we see in this "arc". He was 1. an actual combat force and 2. someone with actual malice on the strawhats' side. I'll never forget that badass face he made when he finished Nero off. After this arc, he slowly shifted to the one we have today. At least for me, the whole "WE WILL FIGHT LIKE MEN" thing got boring really quick, and while there's nothing inherently wrong with having a character like that, it goes directly against his initial characterization, and takes away something that made his character unique in the crew.Where's my king of the underworld Franky :[
Wait why were you talking about Sniper King and Usopp as of they were the same person? Everyone knows that Sniper King is from Sniper Island while Usopp is from Syrup Village.
Do yourselves a favour and look up the 4kids like parody of franky vs nero, it is absolutely hilarious and its almost spot on as cheesy as 4kids themselves would have made it, if they ever got to the sea train arc
5:11 "...he and Luffy punch and cut, respectively..." That's really the only criticism I have for this video. You did an awesome job capitalizing on this underappreciated transition Arc.
Hey GLR! there a scene on the sea train when Robin tells franky that Tom is still alive and the wg think that he died. U can find both scene in the manga and anime
I agree I enjoy when Sanji steps up. His fight was really fun and that noodle guy was funny. I love Usppp’s Sogeking persona and design as well! A fast paced and harrowing portion of the story
Ah the Seetrain. so many Bad ass moments of Sanji, Zoro and Franky (the good old time wenn Franky was still a Badass-rowdy. and not a only comecial Robot) ah and T-Bone , I like this Marine, some of the few honorable Marines i remeber. Never saw gim again after this Arc. ? Does anybody know what happend to him ? PS: GrandlLine , could you make a video about T-bone ? ;-)
Franky is one of the best Straw Hats and criminally underutilised by Oda. Sogeking was great, I just people would stop the shit jokes because they're ruining how good he was for Usopp's character progression..
have you watched the funimation dub of one piece and if so, what do you think of it? Its what i personally prefer honestly but i still do like the original japanese version.
I always prefer the Manga, although it is nice to see things like the Sogeking theme. Otherwise I think the japanese version of the anime is better than dubbed versions.
T-Bone is the most wasted character in One Piece. You give someone this unique look and build him up some much and then he drops with just one hit. I hope Oda make someday a arc with him and his home island. Or at least a movie.
No, I meant the chef from this arc. His spaghetti mech was immune to Sanji's kicks, so I thought it'd be fun to see Luffy beat Kaido while wearing a giant set of spaghetti armor.
Why do you and other one piece channels call the sniper king the sogeking I have read both the manga and watched the anime but they both call him sniper king
I don't really consider this an arc. Mainly because there wasn't really a fight between the Strawhats and their opponents. The manor invasion feels to me more like Luffy'sbeing curbstomped by Crocodille inj their first/second fight than a climax to the arc.
I dont understand why most people say this but Sogeking is not ussop, he's ussop's best friend from sniper island.
I know right
You are so right, TOhes poepol are such indoes
I know!!
Ussop Is Negative Sogeking was Chill So i guess Sogeking is ussop friend i wish Sogeking Was shown more
It is because of TOEI in the manga he was not.
(I’m jokeing)
I find it werid that people look at Water 7 and Enies Lobby as two separate arcs. They are so closely connected that I tend to view them as one.
Technically you could say they are part of the same saga, but even the manager lists them as separate, so people aren't saying it for no reason.
It's a saga to me
These two arcs is like connected via train tracks
Water 7 to….”return to water 7” are one arc IMO.
A proper saga for me would be baroque works. With whiskey peak, that giant island I forget the name of, drum island, alabasta itself……that has its own individual arcs that are part of a larger story

I really liked your Train of thought with this video.
I see what you did there.
Matt Ky I love me some bad jokes

I *honestly* never made the connection between Kokoro being a mermaid and her ability to talk to Yokozuna until I watched this video.

@@ShizuruTomoharu ok? The world doesn't revolve around you
Michael and Hoichael the kids that tried to mug Zoro and make Zoro their big brother
That scene was hilarious 😆
This 'arc' was close to perfect.
Not too long, not too short; Developed the character that won't have the to be feveloped during the the next; showed off just how amazing the straw hats are individually; Sogeking
Especially in the manga
I just don't understand a lot of times you confused Sogeking with Usopp wich are completely different characters
My mistake >_>;
Nothing made my heart sink more than seeing Blueno use his Door-Door ability right when you think they actually pulled off a miracle and rescued Robin...
I feel that any Zoro fanboy has at least a few epic/awesomeness pics of Zoro on their screens. And ya, that was an epic shot!
If there is an epic shot of Zoro during any arc, you best believe I'm throwing it in the review!
I am guilty of this.
When you hear about someone's unbeatable form, you think power. This might be ultimate Kars, One punch man, All Might (my hero academia), Afro Luffy. I love how the most unbeatable form of all is *lying on your back* . Just beautiful

I love this
This arc would be a million times better if the train was Thomas
On a similar note Fishman Island would've been better if Spongebob had made an appearance.
I concur
what if Franky's tank was Thomas the Tank?
Or Thomas the Firetank Pirate.
Soooo, we all agree Franky should have been replaced with Thomas, they're both light blue.
Can’t wait for the Enies Lobby review, but great video, that was once again an interesting choice to add a mini/transitional arc
Yeah, it just didn't feel right to jam it into either Water Seven or Enies Lobby :S
I have always loved this ark but I never really knew why. Part of it is pretty heavy on the trains design as well the character development given to the straw hats, regardless keep up the good work!
Thanks! :D
Have you got a video explaining all About the one of a kind "Sea Train" aka "Puffing Tom" ?

Truth be told. I am more excited when these reviews are uploaded rather than the latest episode in the anime. Great video!

Really good review. I didn’t think of splitting the sea train arc from ennies lobby. Amazing!
Franky Centaur had me rolling! Visual comedy gold! This was the moment I fell in love with Franky as a character.

I would have called this the Aqua Lagoona arc.
But the wave only showed up once during actual sea train part.

Not technically, but I didn't want to lump it in with Water 7 or Enies Lobby.

I would've called it post water 7 arc
It's not really accurate though because some of the sea train takes place during Water Seven.
Guys! I figured out how Luffy is gonna beat Kaido: Giant Spagetti Mech, activate!
Gear Fourth: Spaghettiman?
No, I meant the chef from this arc. His spaghetti mech was immune to Sanji's kicks, so I thought it'd be fun to see Luffy beat Kaido while wearing a giant set of spaghetti armor.
Wouldn't work. Luffy would eat it before it got to do anything.
you think Luffy and Chopper ever figure out Usopp is Soge King????
nope
It is sniper king
Say "locomotive" to replace the word "train"
Why do you and other one piece channels call the sniper king the sogeking I have read both the manga and watched the anime but they both call him sniper king
to be honest i actually didn't like this arc and felt it was boring. I just wanted to get on with it and get to enies lobby
