@@scottiecurrie7927 that sucks, when you create character who literally says he will kill everyone and that is Merciless, and freaking everyone survives.
One moment I really like in Skypiea was when Konis goes to warn the Skypieans that Enel was going to destroy them and she temporarily becomes a badass by using one of those dials that looks like a bazooka and a moving speech to convince everyone to flee for their lives. She may not have done much prior to or following this event, but this one moment saved a lot of lives.

@pepega clapper Speaking 1 year in the future, I just recently read Skypeia (the only arc I skipped and after 11 years I just decided to binge read it down). This is the most irrelevant arc of all of One Piece. Nothing from here is ever revisited again, save for the Mad Monk being from the race of sky people, but even that could've been skipped (considering the long arm people). Enel as a character was completely wasted here and it would've been awesome if he was another emperor of the sea or a strong Warlord like Mihawk. I think the worst part of it all is that a lot of Skypeia suffers from "It gets worse the more you think about it" logic, like why hasn't the WG ever invaded Skypeia. Overall, pretty poorly built story and location.
This arc kinda gave me the "it's ending" vibe because i thought that one piece might be on the Island and that's why nobody was able to find it plus luffy just defeated "god" so where do you go from there. Then we got the foxy arc...
Oda wanted one piece to last 5 years more or less so it could of been the end of one piece but luckily one piece contuined hopefully when they do find the one piece it is satisfying.
I really love Skypiea, but then again I also like arcs such as Thriller Bark, two arcs that my friends dislike when i discuss one piece with them. I think I enjoy the adventure aspect of One Piece just as much the combat and world building mysteries. The idea of there being civilizations in the sky was really cool, and although Enel isn't a deep villian, he is so imposing and condescending. Even when Luffy was revealed to be immune to his fruit, he had other ways of beating Luffy in their battle, and displayed observation haki when haki wasn't a fleshed out concept yet
DiverAMVs honestly i love these arcs because of the overpower aethetic. Everyone vs Enel / everyone vs Oars etc an overwhelmingly powerful enemy that rewuires the efforts of all the characters
thriller bark is kinda pointlessly long for a stand alone arc due to the appearance of oars and the zombies and mysterious 4 shenanigans like absalon trying to rape nami the spider trying to eat robin and peronna vs usopp that feel like they should be in early one piece not after the serious events of water 7 and ennies lobby especially since brook joins so fast that the rest of the arc is useless since hes already on board until kuma shows up which is a moment that makes no sense either since zoro somehow lived..and moriah is so lame not threatening and dumb i mean his fruit is so op and good if used by a smarter foe ...smdh..bleh..the arc had potential but really it was like oda just wanted a skeleton musican to join and wanted to draw dark settings inspired by horror movies and take his time setting up the next serious arc aka sabaody which due to the supernovas slavery topic and admiral introduction and intro to the new world and different seas feels like the true successor to ennies lobby feels
Mihran Ardjian I loved the G-8 arc. I'm sad that the Foxy Arc followed after that because to me, who, while she loves the interactions between the crew members, lives for stakes and epicness this is kind of hard to watch for so long. I mean it is nice and all but it's obvious that they're gonna get their crewmates back and thus it feels a bit dragged out for what the reader knows will eventually come.
I actually dont think the foxy arc is that bad. Yeah the island itself is boring, but if you take out the filler rounds and maybe that stupid raft game, you get some cool scenes like Sanji and zoro defeating the groggy monsters and the end fight. Of course its still not a really good arc, but it had its moments.
Skypiea is my favorite arc so far. I just got into one piece last year . Your video are awesome i watched your videos to help me ease into one piece. Thank you keep up the good videos!
We are the complete opposite, I've been finding it dull, it's been background noise for me while I'm on my phone or playing games instead. I finally broke down and wanted to just see the general summary of it.
I agree with your observation that this arc broadens the story. Yes, there are no Marines or other pirates, but it adds an aspect that there is life in the sky with all sorts of different aspects and powers. I enjoyed it.
Skypiea was the arc that got me into one piece and honestly when I rewatch it - it feels like a movie. Such an awesome story from when they introduce the monkey bros. all the way till the end
There's something that I really liked about Skypiea, regarding Luffy vs Enel/Enaru. In most stories there's a villain who is too powerful to be beaten directly by the hero, so the hero must use clever tactics and exploit some secret weakness. This David vs Goliath thing is reversed here, with Enel's powers being useless against Luffy, so he has to use tactics to avoid a direct fight. Felt really refreshing to me.
Just finished this arc and it's my favourite so far. Eneru was a cool villian in my mind who I think is a good "false god" character with a god complex and kinda shows how flawed people can be and why you shouldn't worship them as leaders. This is the most "pirate" of the arcs I've seen so far, which was great
One thing that I feel is a continuity error and really bothers me is the fact that the Shandorians (even Kalgara) have angel wings... Why would they if they live in the blue sea?
I never had any idea before until years ago that many people didn't like this arc. It is for me, however, one of the best arcs in One Piece as it hugely contributed to the richness of its sense of adventure, history, and worldbuilding.
I loved the Noland stuff! The bell ringing was probably one of my favorite moments in OP... Also Dressrosa is my second favorite arc behind Water 7... Guess I 'm weird because I hated Alabasta and I always skip most of it when I re-watch. Holy fuck I just realized??? The land of small people was Tontatta Kingdom...
Great arc and it also highlighted Eneru's isolation from tough opponents made him succumb to a battle-tested DF user. Skypeia was the one true pirate adventure for the SHs, so being removed from the blue sea world and its politics and conflicts made the arc special. However, エネル isn't pronounced correctly by just about everyone . eh neh r/l(u)
Maybe a small bonus episode on the filler of Marineford. I know it isn't canon, but the characters are so well written. And the story is both funny and action-packed.
I really like this arc, however my biggest problem with it is when Luffy gets eaten by the snake. I knew that the moment he got eaten that Luffy would be taken away from the story, only then to show up and beat the final boss. While yes he was still active in the snake, it was still very annoying. It especially became tedious when he was about to escape with Nami and God, only then to be immediately pushed back in. This feels like Goku being taken away from the plot of the Namek saga due to travelling there; when he does arrive he’s immediately taken out of the plot again due to being ‘heavily injured.’ It’s frustrating when stories do this and sadly One Piece likes to take Luffy out of the plot a lot in the original arcs.
I haven't watched the whole arc, only a huge amount of clips that I pieced together to get the story, but I can still say that my favorite moments is whenever Enel is on scene and uses his lightning powers, especially when he uses Mamaragan, when his lightning bolts fall down like rain.
Man, not gonna lie but after doing Skypiea in one or two sittings, watching Long Ring Long Land had me tearing my hair out. It just kept going and going and going when all you really want after binging an arc like Skypiea is to move the story forward.
The problem is you WATCHED Long Ring Long Land. I can't even begin to express how the anime did it's absolute best to make that arc PAINFULLY long. The arc in the manga is so short and actually really fun, but the anime added a lot of filler and made it three times longer than it needed to be, right before launching into another filler arc right after it >_>
You have a very good point there. My plan right now is to catch up on the anime after starting in January (just got past Fishman Island, YIKES...) and then I'm going to restart with the manga and catch up on that to get as much of a comparison view as I can.
GrandLineReview Yeah I'm stuck in it. It sucks that it's so long. The interactions between the SHs may be fun and all but the "story" feels so dragged since you know they will get everyone back either way. And Foxy isn't really a compelling villain.
As a kid who originally watched this back around 2004 or 2005, it was a mindblowing arc. The scene when they finally reached Skypeia will always be etched in my memory. It's the arc where the "adventure" spirit is at its peak. I was surprised to learn that people who watched One Piece much later tend to skip this one.
The reason there isn't a character to embody the stakes really comes down to what I really liked about the arc... the bell. That's where the stakes come to a head, and that really can't appear until the end. They all have their own reasons for getting it to ring (including Nola). They're not the same reason, if it was then a character could embody that. Not even the fact that Enel has his ship and is planning on wiping everyone out (and nobody questions if he will or can... that's a given), got everyone to work together like the bell. Forcing everyone onto common ground wasn't the ultimate answer... finding a common ground that everyone could get to in their own way was.
A reminder that Skypiea led to the 300 million berries that the Straw Hats acquired which resulted in Franky stealing 2/3 of it, which eventually resulted in the Thousand Sunny being built which saved the Straw Hats' lives many times because of Franky's unique installments and devices.
There is so many reason you can't skip this arc 1. The introduction of existance sky island which lead to many possibility and world building 2. The very first concept of haki known as mantra 3. Poneghlyp and ancient text that roger left, ended up giving robin hope to chase her dream once again. 4. A clue by roger that world history will be complete after you combine all poneglype in the world. 5. The first introduction of rio poneghylp 6. 4 gods in one piece world including sun god nika forshadowing 7. Nami and usopp new weapon in anie lobby is made by dial 8. Waver is from sky island ( since people often mistake franky made it somehow ) 9. Going merry critical condition 10. And the manifiestation of going merry (klaubauterman) fixing it self as a early warning for strawhat crew because its time isn't going to last and the main reason between luffy and usopp clash in water seven. 11. Sky island and moon where enel fleed is very related to the mystery of lunarian. Its probably another foreshadowing since king had wings that only sky people had. Its probably a variant but with special ability that lost in time and history. I mean its obvious since lunarian or the word lunar itself is just another name of the moon. Where and who else of a place and people that are close to the moon other than sky island and its people?? Even tengu from wano is probably from skt island. . Too many important event to skip skypea arc bro
I just finished Skypiea so here's what I thought went great and what went wrong. The great parts can be summed into one word, Mystery! It was mysterious about a giant ship falling from the sky, it was mysterious about giant shadows that are scary looking, it was mysterious about how a forest is floating in the middle of the sky, and Enel was introduced in a mysterious way. I loved how there were little details like the story about Noland the liar that was revised and connected in Skypiea. My only complaint was the plot was dragged out and there so many episodes where it felt like the plot was not advanced. There was an episode towards the end where Enel was searching for the bell and Luffy was running after him while Enel was shooting everyone below with lightning blasts. You'd think the next episode was where Luffy finally caught up to him, but nope! It was another episode with Enel searching for the bell and shooting everyone below him. There were definitely moments that kept me interested, but it could have been shortened and Enel could have had so much more character development as a villain!
I feel this arc is the best standalone arc of One Piece. It really is a standalone arc in every sense and I kind of like that about it especially now. You don't have all the other stuff in the world to consider. Instead the focus is on the now and what is happening at the moment.
We need another sky island adventure. One that explores the sky proper as opposed to being sequestered on a gigantified forest that just so happens to be in the sky.
I agree with your assessment on most of the characters except for Wiper who I really didn't care for. I wish that Dials were used a bit more often since some of them were rather interesting.
@@uveuveosas2229This arc was one of the best arcs in the manga read it it's much better and faster and if you're an anime only guy then watch the remastered version it sums up the whole arc in 1 movie
Enel is such a weird character in retrospect. I mean he's one of the few villains that doesn't have a backstory or appears in a future arcs. And considering how significant Skypiea turned out to be to the story as a whole, and that there is nothing else to Enel beyond Skypia and a few panels on the moon is so unlike Oda, and that's why so many people think he is coming back
I really like Skypiea and it gave me a lot of ideas for the book I am writing. It also gave me the idea to put the fairy land in the sky also Ghibli Castle in the Sky which I start to wonder if that is where oda got the idea from.
I started one piece a few weeks ago and finished this arc today, I loved Enel as a villian tbh because other than Crocodile there wasn't really a series villian. I'm still new to the series and my friends tell me good things so I'm excited to see what whitebeard and them can do too. Also the skypea is beautiful
I personally loved this act, and its villain. Though want to list a funny fact about Ennel. Despite calling and fancy himself a god. He relied quite heavily on technology (his ark Maxim) to be able to make his plans into reality like flying to the moon. Producing thunderclouds to for him to use combined with his devil fruit. Like destroying Skypiea and upper yard. Just find it funny a self proclaimed god relies on machinery to reach his major goals rather than his " Godhood" :D Aside for that. here is just a little inocent little wish from somebody who really likes your onepiece reviews be acts or character. But I really hope that you at some point could review the Filler act that would appear right after the Skypiea act. One of my personal favorit acts ine one piece. and my nr 1 filler in anime. ( The Navarone Act )
I always find it quite surprising to hear people dislike this Arc. In my mind this is one of the best jumping on points for one piece because of how isolated and focused it is in comparison to the grander world at large. Whatever happens in this Ark. Currently has been the most isolated event because it has not fed in to the rest of the story other than this being an Arc Of just pure adventure
this arc is that unconnected and exotic because it is based on the isolated native americans, being the civilization and peaple a mix between mayas, muiscans, aztecs, pueblos, missisipians and iroquois. It is also a introduccion of the mugiwara to the unknown of the world and amazing things
Wait so I just started watching one piece and I’m up to this arc but I know pretty much everything important that has happened in the series. My question is, is this fruit stronger than white and black beards?
I remember not really enjoying Skypiea for the reasons you listed as to why people don't like it. BUT in retrospect, I actually... really DO like it now? How is that even possible. It's weird. I have a lot of respect for the arc.
I've considered this quite a bit, and to built upon what was discussed in the video, I think it's possible to narrow the arc down to three main reasons why Skypiea is so much more enjoyable upon re-watching :P 1. The Expectation: When re-watching Skypiea, we know precisely what kind of arc we're going to experience; one that primarily entertains the watcher through exploration/discovery, opposed to combat and character development. Not to say there isn't any of that, but clearly the thrill of adventure is what Oda was counting on driving this arc forward. Oda goes to great lengths to stress this approach through Luffy, the SHs and even Norland discussing this "romantic" aspect of sailing at numerous points, with Bellamy being purposely placed in Jaya as the direct counterpoint for everything to come. Oda was very daring doing this while coming straight from Arabasta; an arc which was driven by the prospect of epic battles and multiple major character conflicts. To ask his fandom to alter the way in which they had been enjoying the series thusfar was very brave and makes me appreciate the arc all the more. For those who didn't initially realise this change of approach however (myself included) Skypiea could sometimes feel dull or lackluster, due a great deal to the viewer focusing on the wrong aspects of the arc. Ironically, it's this knowledge of how to enjoy Skypiea that makes its explorations into the unknown so much more enjoyable when re-watching it. 2. A Challenging Issue to Address: Many One Piece arcs can have a core theme/issue which is addressed within the arc. Arlong Park/Fishman Island addressed racism. Arabasta and Marineford were about the futility of war. You get the idea... Skypiea dealt with faith and religion. This is a difficult theme to do right, and to Oda's credit, I think he dealt with it perfectly. Unlike with Fishman Island, where Oda made the arc's message abundantly clear (having Jinbei give Luffy blood), in Skypiea he couldn't flat out say "religion = good" or "religion = bad". Because of this, it made it hard to intertwine the issue into any significant plot points within the arc, making the issue overall far less impactful upon the main characters, and thus the viewers. Instead however, Oda casually interwove many of both the positive and negative elements that can be found in organised religion as well as personal faith throughout the story of the arc. Some are obvious, others not. But he clearly wished for viewers to both interpret these messages, as well as draw their own conclusions on the topic. In short, Oda used Skypiea as an unbiased way of opening a conversation. The lack of actual resolution on the issue is sublime, considering that the issue is the existence of "God", and the various incarnations, believers and events associated to such a title. Unfortunately, this lack of thematic integration into the dynamics of the action and plot can cause the issue to be put on the back burner while being initially experienced. An issue which requires contemplation is not necessarily best suited to a Shounen-style battle royale scenario after all! Yet again however, this aspect of the Skypiea tends only to greatly improve the experience upon the re-watching or reflection upon this arc. 3. Greater World Knowledge: This is easily the most obvious aspect to highlight on this topic. Needless to say, when we first experienced Skypiea, we only had an inkling of the world building importance that came with it. The appreciation that comes from knowing how much the arc actually affects, connects and foreshadows many of the later One Piece events and revelations makes it so much more enjoyable to re-watch. Skypiea is a theory maker's treasure trove after all. There are other elements which make the arc more enjoyable upon reviewing of course, but these three are to me probably the most key in understanding not just how to enjoy, but appreciate Skypiea. Is it perfect? No. It is however a fantastic One Piece arc worth watching not once, but at least twice, and should certainly never, ever, be skipped. :D
WOW amazing analysis! I enjoyed reading that. I really REALLY want to go back through Skypiea. Since I've already watched the anime, I am slowly buying all the volumes and reading through them all and I'm REALLY looking forward to Skypiea, and this only gets me more excited!
arlong park drum isle. 2nd half of alabasta jaya water 7 ennies lobby impel down sabaody marineford punk hazard dressrosa all top it so...its there...ita okay
I just finished this arc and absolutely love it. The only thing I don't like is how it seems like most of the cast just couldn't be killed. For instance, Zoro got hit with lighting like five times, and I'm expected to believe he not only survived 4 lightning strikes and wasn't even badly injured by the end... It was an amazing arc but that bothered me a little.
I'm really watching One Piece while we're on this one month-long break, and I'm on the skypiea arc and it got me thinking, the skypiea arc could be Oda slightly foretelling how the world government was formed, I looked back at when Enel sitting on a ball cloud looking at the others and tell him to join him, Enel could represent Imu while Zorro and The Others could have represent some of the king and or queens that would one day form the world government, and Nico Robin could have represented the nefertari family, The reason why think this is because the speech Enel gives reminds me of the celestial dragons, with Luffy representing Joy boy of course, but remember what I said slightly foretelling, unlike Zorro and the rest the Kings and or Queens did join Imu, and the nefertari family did join but didn't leave their country to go to the holy land (I forgot how to spell the world government HQ) that's basically my thoughts about Skypiea arc in a nutshell.
I've read One Piece 3 times and every time I had a hard time with the pacing. I think it would be better if the flashback happen before the invasion of the Shandians on Enel territory. It would not be as anti-climatic and people will connect more with the characters. But I really love the adventure, expansion of the world and it also have a lot of really funny moments that made me die laughing.
I fell asleep while watching this arc and I woke up and some kid was relevant and I just kept watching I didn’t try to catch up on what I missed and I do think this arc drags on
Thanks to going to Skypiea, starwhats got gold and eventually get the Thousand Sunny. Introduction of the haki (mantra), dials, etc. I really enjoyed it and Enel is still my favourite villain :D
For me, I think it's less that any one of the issues common with Skypiea are dealbreakers and more that they pile on each other. It's not that the arc itself was so long compared to what came after and more that it's pretty long for what it offers the series. (i.e. No no crew member, no enemy of long term importance defeated, no bounty increases etc.) Yes, it offers little moments here or two of payoff, but could Skypiea have been half the length and a lot more streamlined and still offered the series everything it currently offers it? Yes, I do think so. For an arc that is so disconnected from the overall grand plot of the series, it takes a good deal of time up. I think had the arc itself been about half the size, it could've still been a fun one-off adventure that offered some long term small scale benefits to the series.
I can't be the only one who was so confused on why GrandLineReview kept saying Enel instead of Eneru T^T It doesn't help that most of the comments also say Enel and here I was, doubting myself if I had gotten the name wrong the whole time :< *sigh* This is what I get for only reading the manga xD
Bro wdym skypiea for sure has an amazing story. Nolan and shit was the best part ever. The feelings were so good, the way emotions were portrayed, how meaningful the city of gold was, and the golden bell was perfect definently my favorite arc

Didn’t like thriller bark at the time, but looking back I enjoy it. I have always liked skypiea tho
DiverAMVs thriller bark and Skypeia are the 2 most skipped arcs in all of one piece lol
Literally, the flashback with Noland made me cry so hard. It made this arc one of my favorites, other than Punk Hazard!
Never seem some one love punk hazard. Same.
Punk hazard is terrible

Why don't you do the g-8 filler arc. Come on its the legendary filler arc that is probably known as one of the best filler arcs in anime.
I already asked him that and he said he's just going with the manga. Maybe after he's done with this list, he'll do a filler arc series one.
G-8 arc is the best filler in anime
Hes already done it
Mihran Ardjian I loved the G-8 arc.
Thank you for the kind words! :D
We are the complete opposite, I've been finding it dull, it's been background noise for me while I'm on my phone or playing games instead. I finally broke down and wanted to just see the general summary of it.
@@Nodnarb59 same i didnt like this arc so i skipped it so i am seeing what is happening

I love this arc! The design is amazing, Oda was inspired. It remember a little the south American indigenous architectural
This arc also has the best comedy face from Enel when he realized his powers did not work on Luffy XD
Remember when people thought Skypiea was just a filler and didn't know the insane foreshadowing that was in this arc
Zoro was cool in this ark, so I liked it
And funny too!
Simpleton S. Man When he did the Tarzan scream😂
Zoro and the South Bird is the best part of this arc , let's admit it.
What if Kaku does his skydive from Skypiea and gets to Raftel.
I love your thought process
elijmin not enough altitude
This arc was honestly my favorite out of all the the pre-timeskip arcs.
Just finished this arc and it's my favourite so far. Eneru was a cool villian in my mind who I think is a good "false god" character with a god complex and kinda shows how flawed people can be and why you shouldn't worship them as leaders. This is the most "pirate" of the arcs I've seen so far, which was great
its enel
@@med7621 it could be enel or eneru it doesn’t matter
I’m pretty sure it’s the only arc so far where they actually did any actual pirating
One thing that I feel is a continuity error and really bothers me is the fact that the Shandorians (even Kalgara) have angel wings... Why would they if they live in the blue sea?
Didn't all of the sky people mix up after generations?
@@justbny9278 but they had wings in the flash back too which took place before it was in skypiea
I never had any idea before until years ago that many people didn't like this arc. It is for me, however, one of the best arcs in One Piece as it hugely contributed to the richness of its sense of adventure, history, and worldbuilding.
I still remember the horrors of going through this arc as I watched it for the first time. Good times.
These videos help refresh people mind
Man, If this arc was shorter it would have been one of the best.
Dude! You make these videos at the perfect time, I'm always like with a 10 min break and need something to watch. Perfect timing!
I do it just for you! :D
Sure it was long but I personally think it was alright especially since we previously finished alabasta
I can taste the clouds already
Love this video and all the rest! Keep putting in that work!
Thanks :D
Always grateful for the content, thank you for all your the Effort.
My favorite quote from this arc is, “Light the Fire of Shandora!”
Mines “Usopp AHAHAHHHAAAAAAAA”
enel always reminded me of eminem xD
Thsts who he based off of
That's the idea. They even have similar names. Each are spelling out two initials
When you’re watching the reviews arc by arc on your first watch through and get hit with a list of spoilers at 7:00
I haven't watched the whole arc, only a huge amount of clips that I pieced together to get the story, but I can still say that my favorite moments is whenever Enel is on scene and uses his lightning powers, especially when he uses Mamaragan, when his lightning bolts fall down like rain.
I'd advise you to just read it and then skip to beginning of water seven when you're done. It won't take long ;D
GrandLineReview Thanks I hope I get to Water 7 quickly😅
As a kid who originally watched this back around 2004 or 2005, it was a mindblowing arc. The scene when they finally reached Skypeia will always be etched in my memory. It's the arc where the "adventure" spirit is at its peak. I was surprised to learn that people who watched One Piece much later tend to skip this one.
this arc made me fall in love with one piece the final hit into the golden bell was the most INSANE
6:36 this arc was truly brilliant... I mean this is the arc where we got the legendary luffy song "islands of the south and north"😊😊😊
I don't know how long these sparadic uploads will last but, I'll enjoy it while it does 😊
:D
This arc also made alluded to the eventual downfall of the Going Merry when Usopp saw the thing holding the hammer and fixing the Marry.
I really love this arc, bringing joy and tears too.
Enel/Eneru really needs to come back, he was too good for this arc.
thank god for this, im rewatching one piece and skypiea is one of my least favorite arcs and i really didnt want to watch it all again 😂
Im at it rn and i want to skip it, like i know the next arcs are going to be fantastic
uveuve osas Same, I just finished it, Imo Skypiea does get better after ep 180.
Skypiea was always my favorite arc as a kid watching it. It's still my favorite honestly.
The Noland / Calgara flashback is the best moment in the arc
The flashback story was absolutely beautiful but I agree it felt like I was watching another show.
Ah the arc that made me question what the ocean looked like again.
A reminder that Skypiea led to the 300 million berries that the Straw Hats acquired which resulted in Franky stealing 2/3 of it, which eventually resulted in the Thousand Sunny being built which saved the Straw Hats' lives many times because of Franky's unique installments and devices.
There is so many reason you can't skip this arc
1. The introduction of existance sky island which lead to many possibility and world building
2. The very first concept of haki known as mantra
3. Poneghlyp and ancient text that roger left, ended up giving robin hope to chase her dream once again.
4. A clue by roger that world history will be complete after you combine all poneglype in the world.
5. The first introduction of rio poneghylp
6. 4 gods in one piece world including sun god nika forshadowing
7. Nami and usopp new weapon in anie lobby is made by dial
8. Waver is from sky island ( since people often mistake franky made it somehow )
9. Going merry critical condition
Does watching a recap and and videos that explain the foreshadowing allow you to skip, because I just don’t like that arc, it’s not even the length.
There were definitely moments that kept me interested, but it could have been shortened and Enel could have had so much more character development as a villain!
wow!! how good a review can be!!? hats off man..I am in owe of your review.
Thank you :D
Skypia was definitely one of my favorite arcs. And Eneru it's still one of my favorite villains. I can't get enough of the rumble rumble fruit
Once you get pulled into skypiea you never leave...never
I'm 3 years late but one when sanji luffy and usopp are about to take the crow and konnis breaks down "why are you telling us this?" So much power.
I feel this arc is the best standalone arc of One Piece. It really is a standalone arc in every sense and I kind of like that about it especially now. You don't have all the other stuff in the world to consider. Instead the focus is on the now and what is happening at the moment.
Tbf, i think it’s standalone if you count this and jaiya as one arc
We need another sky island adventure. One that explores the sky proper as opposed to being sequestered on a gigantified forest that just so happens to be in the sky.
The introduction of Observation Haki in this arc is another point in its favour
I just finished this arc today. It was a beautiful story
I agree with your assessment on most of the characters except for Wiper who I really didn't care for. I wish that Dials were used a bit more often since some of them were rather interesting.
I thought this arc went by slow and I didn’t really like it but y’all have good things to say about it so one day I’ll try it again
Im at it rn im thinking of skipping it (i never skip episodes) because its so slow and i hate slow paced stuff
uveuve osas yeah I feel your pain
uveuve osas Im on Skypeia but NEVER skip eps, it will end up you being confused later on in the series

I'm glad Skypiea has it's fans! I think it gets a bit too much hate. It was a fun adventure!
Luffy screaming “REEEEEEEEACH” after ringing the bell is iconic
skypiea is an arc that just gets better with further context into every future arc, even this video is out of date on that.
Just find it funny a self proclaimed god relies on machinery to reach his major goals rather than his " Godhood" :D
Aside for that. here is just a little inocent little wish from somebody who really likes your onepiece reviews be acts or character.
The foreshadowing for sun god nika
Almost 8k. You're doing great buddy
this arc is that unconnected and exotic because it is based on the isolated native americans, being the civilization and peaple a mix between mayas, muiscans, aztecs, pueblos, missisipians and iroquois. It is also a introduccion of the mugiwara to the unknown of the world and amazing things
That bellamy still owe was his flashback of skypiea
Wait so I just started watching one piece and I’m up to this arc but I know pretty much everything important that has happened in the series. My question is, is this fruit stronger than white and black beards?
Not white beards but probably black beards unless Black Beard has a secret sub ability that counters lightning
I remember not really enjoying Skypiea for the reasons you listed as to why people don't like it. BUT in retrospect, I actually... really DO like it now? How is that even possible. It's weird. I have a lot of respect for the arc.
I feel pretty much the same way!
I've considered this quite a bit, and to built upon what was discussed in the video, I think it's possible to narrow the arc down to three main reasons why Skypiea is so much more enjoyable upon re-watching :P
Granetdud thanks man, Glad you enjoyed ^^

I rewatched Skypiea for the 5th time. Its long but its actually really fun
What i love about skypiea, is the story that used three faction war concept.. Pirate vs shandian vs enel
Ok but i think we all agree the fights in this arc had one of the best fights in early arcs
Now.. It's time for Long Ring Long Land... Damn it!
Great review as usual. I just wish you mentioned and talked a little about how observation haki/mantra finally comes into play
But I really love the adventure, expansion of the world and it also have a lot of really funny moments that made me die laughing.
can i just point out how ironic the name LONG-ring-LONGland is while watching the arc.
hahahaha im so fuckin funny
I fell asleep while watching this arc and I woke up and some kid was relevant and I just kept watching I didn’t try to catch up on what I missed and I do think this arc drags on
Thanks to going to Skypiea, starwhats got gold and eventually get the Thousand Sunny. Introduction of the haki (mantra), dials, etc. I really enjoyed it and Enel is still my favourite villain :D
I didn't know that skypiea had so much hate. I always loved this arc.
I really hope Eneru/Enel returns in the story soon I thought he was going to be revealed as the Shogun of Wano who teamed up with Kaido.
Skypiea is my favourite one piece arc it’s just pure fun and entertainment
