Great video. I admit I use about 5% of Photoshop's abilities... And compositing like this has been such a pain, I've been indoctrinated to hate compositing. But, it's so much easier now! Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you but why didn’t you use the new click to select ? Also …the scenes are extremely simple for selection whereas most times they are more cluttered , could you demonstrate that please ?
Sorry for being late to this party, but once you have the selection I would probably manually try and match the imported selection and the background layer rather than the harmonisation tool. Just a little more control for me. Thx for the vid though, always nuggets of info in every one!
Very good, but I'd love to have seen you drop her into a coloured background; the hair on the right-hand side didn't seem to be masked too well to my eye, so dropping her into another image with a white background seemed a bit too easy. Either way, thanks for sharing.
I tried making a composite today. If I moused over either layer, objects in the layer would turn dark. That's never happened before. And, when I applied the top layer to the bottom, the bottom disappeared and the top layer said "bottom layer". In other words, the bottom layer rep;laced the top layer & it applied itself to itself. I can't figure what's turned on that shouldn't be, or if I have some malware someplace.
I have dragged the woman to the other layer 50 and it refuses to combined as yours does. All the settings have bee checked...your screen looks as much like mine as possible. However I am using a shot of 4 people trying to drop them on an Adobe Still Christmas graphic. Any suggestions?
I'm not convinced. On my 1920x1080 laptop screen the hair looks okay after compositing but I'd like to see what it looks like at 100%, or preferably 200%, enlargement of a 45MP Nikon Z file. I would really love it to look okay then too. Or even better;: put a blonde haired girl, shot in front of a blue sky, in front of an ochre colored building. I'd very much like to see the result.
I thought this was going to be a video about mixing grass cuttings, wood chips, eggshells and tiger worms but then realised I was wearing the wrong spectacles….
And a beginner will wonder why their mask did not work as well. Because they did not have such a simple background that was almost similar in the target.

Likely the most useful UA-cam Chanel for amateur photogs
This is the best and shortest composite technic video. Thank you
Great video. I admit I use about 5% of Photoshop's abilities... And compositing like this has been such a pain, I've been indoctrinated to hate compositing. But, it's so much easier now!
Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks, I can almost do it!
So helpful, I need to start looking into how powerful photoshop is for my images. Thanks!
Best composite video I've ever seen. And including harmonization, refine edge and hair is definitely a nice touch and appreciated. Thank you
The little "matting" trick near the end I had never seen - BUT you can be sure I'm going to be using that one a LOT!!!! THANKS!!!!!
Great job! Thanks!
Hello. Great video. I love your videos and learn so much. They are very easy to follow.
So easy! I am bookmarking this one.
Great job explaining compositing! Thank you so much
Thank you but why didn’t you use the new click to select ? Also …the scenes are extremely simple for selection whereas most times they are more cluttered , could you demonstrate that please ?
Your videos are super helpful! Thank you!
Very good Anthony, thanks.
Thanks again for sharing your experience🙏🥂
VERY helpful video, many thanks.
Great advice, simply explained. Many thanks Anthony
Very clear and detailed. Great pace … Thx! Subscriber now 👍
Thank you for this brilliant covers everything I needed for composite 👍

great presentation - I think I finally understand :) thank you
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Thanks for the great tutorial!!
Great overview!!! Thanks
You're right. Hair selection often = hair removal.
Very good, but I'd love to have seen you drop her into a coloured background; the hair on the right-hand side didn't seem to be masked too well to my eye, so dropping her into another image with a white background seemed a bit too easy. Either way, thanks for sharing.
Anthony, I like the Matting option. Don't we need a shadow for the subject?
Thanks!
Thank you Steven!
Thank you! I find photoshop so scary. I cant even work out how to bring photos in 🙈

Excellent tutorial as always... (music theme not so excellent ... sorry)
I thought this was going to be a video about mixing grass cuttings, wood chips, eggshells and tiger worms but then realised I was wearing the wrong spectacles….
I thought you could do it with one click!😜
And a beginner will wonder why their mask did not work as well. Because they did not have such a simple background that was almost similar in the target.
Excellent video 💎
