Have been waiting for this tut for YEARS!!! I did it once, then could NOT remember how I got there. You are an essential tool to my profession - thank you, as always!!
i've been using photoshop for 4 years and i literally did everything by the eye, i just tried out this technique and i get so much more accurate results, instead of curves i prefer using color balance
one of the best tutorial on this topic. what I really like about this, is that you don't need to really struggle with different settings and adjustment, it is a straight forward 3 steps. thank you Nathaniel
I have to say.. thank you a bunch. About a year ago I saw this tutorial when I was first learning the very basics of photoshop and decided it was way too difficult for me to attempt; now, I remembered this tutorial when I actually needed it, and it worked like an absolute charm. I really appreciate your help, it has been monumental!
I loved how you insinuated your concept so they aren't just steps you clone in every project, they are your work theory that you fit to every project based on what you know! This is my best way of getting new stuff inside my head Thanks for that lesson man 🙏
Man, i love your tutorials, been following you way back, it's because of you that i finally got to built a proper website, i got into photoshop, because of you! Really man, it's incredible what you have done for me. You still talk so fast, but i guess it's because you know your tools and it's just natural to you :-) Thank you for your tutvids ;-)
I see the video in 0.5 velocity for more detaile per second, sorry my english. Realy thank you man!!! This video is pure gold. I subscribe this channel :D. Greetings from Argentina
For all my 10 years of working in photoshop, this is the one tutorial i should have watched first!!! The fact that I didn't figure this light and color matching kept me from so many designs I could have done...
although this could be a little complicated for someone not too familiar with photoshop along with shading and colour grading but i found this extremely helpful and appreciate it!!
Man, I just want to say thanks so much for all the FREE help you have provided me over the years. It is SO appreciated. Emotion emphasized with capitol letters...
I want to express my gratitude for your lessons: recently I first visited your web site and got a little acquainted with who you were and how you started and what you achieved. You are the person from whom you want to take an example, thank you so much for your work and your lessons, it really helps in my creative development! From Alex Smol.
Dude you are awesome.. Maan...This was life saver.... You should have 820M subscriber not 820K..those people are unfortunate who have not subscribed you yet... Thank you 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
As you created the background, you could bring some smoke clouds in front of her legs. Also shadows are needed on the bush of her lower half, as the light is coming from behind the shot, also the highlights on her show the light coming from behind her.
You should get warm with "HSB". This will help you to understand images and how to manipulate them. HSB is a form of describing colors, like RGB (how much red, green or blue are in the image). HSB stands for Hue (color), Saturation and Brightness and is more logical for us humans because we don't describe things in real life with RGB-Codes but with the color, the brightness or how saturated the object is. Btw This will also help to create matching color palettes. Just change one of the 3 channels of a basecolor and you got a new matching one.
Sweet! Thanks for the old school way of doing things. I've been using the End Dark & Light Colors in the Auto Color Correction Options in the Curves Adjustment layer to match colors.
I've seen that Dark/Light Color set up in the Auto options in Curves, but I never seem to be able to get it totally right. Maybe I need to practice more :D Thanks for the comment!
Honestly if you’re new dont worry about this lol You really need to have a good foundational understanding of color, layers and adjustments, and well photoshop in general. This is just a cool way to better to color correct overall before color grading a composite. If you arent even at the level of compositing this will definitely overwhelm you.
I think a little bit of yellow/orange in the model's highlights would've taken this image to a whole new level, since skin is a reflective surface and the background is so intensely bright warm and saturated. But other than that, great tutorial! :)

Thank you so much, Andrea S!
This video, right here is - is the number one piece of advise you will find on photoshop on UA-cam.
i've been using photoshop for 4 years and i literally did everything by the eye, i just tried out this technique and i get so much more accurate results, instead of curves i prefer using color balance
I wish theres a color balance tool in Lightroom.
THis is by far the best example of how to use the color adjust and how it works
Changing color picker to greyscale was one thing I didn't think about doing. Thanks!
Your mastery of photoshop makes you number one. By never explaining why you do the things you do, you guarantee that it stays that way.
one of the best tutorial on this topic.

Impossible not to like your tutorials. 🙌🙌🙌

1:55 Step 01. Match the brightness
Shift+Alt and clicl to delete color samples
5:23 Step 02. Adjust the saturation
8:45 Step 03. Adjust the color
saturation is not working for me idk image is not turning out to be black and white idk why

You've smashed it on UA-cam bro. Kasamay
Thanks, bro!
Great Video!
I think that match colors for the cutout and the background would be easier. It is a little more destructive of course, but way quicker. 👍🏻
Duck man, you are really ''bravo''
thanks man, nice tutorial
Boom! BUT too hard to say "I GET IT!"
its too easy u noob, piece of piss
i also will have to rewatch a 2nd time. but it's more of the process. Practice is key!
it's easy you don't have to do it exactly that way just try chaning the colors and stuff untill it looks like a real image and not fake
