One of the first sound demos of a synth ive herd where the demonstrator is actually doing the unit justice, most people seem to just fiddle with the basic square wave and make really annoying tunes
Yes ! Finally !! You got it right . Just give us an overhead view and go at it ! Don't need a lot of distracting narration . One of the best demos I've seen so far …
I absolutely love what you were playing, and the sounds from 0:50- 1:50. It sounds like a post apocalyptic world where the sun is burning too bright, and the land is a dry, deserted, metallic wasteland. Exactly the kind of soundscapes I want to play around with. Thank you!
I'm just echoing many other comments here but this is truly a beautiful demo that showcases the range of this instrument and your skills. Thank you for your time and for sharing your talents with us!
You'll get into it in no-time. Much more if it was a digital synth or a VST plugin. Being able to actually touch it and change the parameters in realtime while you hear it, is very important to get into the whole sound-designing on synthesizers.
I've only made three tracks so I hear ya. But I'm happy enough with them. Check em out in my uploads, CyberJunk 1 through 3. Its actually for a friend who needs some music for a comic book puppet film thing. Its complicated. lol
I'm getting mine in 3-5 days. I thought about the Neutron for my first synth, but it's only paraphonic and the midi cable is that weird 5-pin, of which I couldn't find any compatible midi keyboards to go with it. Looking forward to it! Sounds like you can make some retro 80s sounds, which I'm all about. New high tech sounds might be fun, but aren't always practical in long-term use. I tried some synths out at a store, and although they didn't have this one, I figured out what I like and don't like. I need knobs to twist. The presets and everything are just a bonus!
Wow!! I like so much your demo. Minute 4:15 to 5:40 it's Amazing sequence! Vaguely reminds me the analog sounds used for some Italian horror movie soundtrack from the 80s Tempt me very much to buy this synth . Thanks from Italy!
SlyVoxOdyssey I was in the same predicament as you. If I were you I’d say save your money and don’t buy the monologue; a great synth in its own right, but what makes the mini shine is the polyphony. Sets it apart. Love this machine
Wonderful sonic characteristics, the effect pedal compliments it even further! The sound from 2:10, i was wondrting, what is it?! What's its name, is it a stock preset? (I relate every club experience with this kind of sound somehow) Best regards, Mario

@@MattCloverDJ Hi Matt, unfortunately XD is not compatible with the Minilogue. I've just received the confirmation from Korg. But there will be another Set for the XD, likely to be released in late autumn this year

Coming from VBST and computer and not sure to go towards Moog, I was thinking to acquire a duet of these two synths (minilogue - and not the XD I do not like this digital thing) + digitone. I would be interested to receive your pros and cons. Thanks a lot and again congrat it is a pleasure to hear your sounds.
anyone know where i can go to start learning how to get introduced with these beautiful sounds??? total beginner, but i am obsessed with these sounds and synths for quite some time.
Can the Prologue do anything this raw? And if so, why do they never do it any Prologue demos? Did Korg make the Prologue audio path too pretty for its own good?
December Agents I think what you’re hearing as “raw” is the onboard delay. It’s VERY noisy, which can be useful and very characterful. The monilogue actually has a VERY clean signal path otherwise, and I think the prologue follows suit. It’s definitely not a bad thing and I wouldn’t call it sterile at all.
Sure. For effects (other than the internal delay), I've used a Mooer Ocean Machine. All signals went into a small Mackie Mixer but without using the internal EQ. All has been recorded with an Edirol Field Recorder. Monitors are Dynaudio Lyd
@@BXLrules Thanks for your comment. I'm doing some of the synth demos for this channel. Whenever you see someone here not able to play the keys well, it's likely me ;)
hard to say. I'd say it's a great synth and the Chord Mode plus Cross Modulation makes it good for Detroit-Techno. But it has a lot of character - either you like it or not.
Now that the minilogue xd is out, is this still as good or better than the xd? Any opinions.. Don't know much on synths but am contemplating between the two for my first synth purchase.
Minilogue is still a great synth but the XD offers more features. If you can find a cheap Minilogue second hand I’d go for it, if buying new, I’d choose XD I guess
Are these stock patches or custom? Please let me know if they're stock because that would be so fire. I just bought this beastly synth. I waited six months (bought a MacBook and Logic) to buy this machine. It'll be my first analog. I'm so pumped.

Hey, I really like your demo. I wanted to hear what this synth sounded like and you showed that 100%.. To be honest I am still looking around for a new synth because there is "so much" synth out there to choose from! LOL! I write and record both commercially licensed music as a music composer (under performance rights organization, BMI, Inc) and also at times, music for retail sale. I've even co-written music with some notable people in the past.. some of the original creators of Ambient and NewWave genres (I have NDAs with those people). I've been around for a very long time, and again your demo is really good. I see one negative comment that someone posted on your video here a few months ago.. ignore that.. One thing that never changes is you'll get jack@sses like that from time to time that can't back up anything they post about. Hey, have a great holiday season.. All the best to you and yours! - Mr.Tom
It has a noisy digital delay with analogue feedback loop. No reverb or any other effects like that. You can choose if the delay comes pre filter or post filter.
Il probably be getting a monologue for the sake of my wallet, but the mini is FUCKING TEMPTING maybe i will end up getting the mini at a later date or something, who knows.
Get this. It’s way more fun to tweak (no menu diving), and it’s true analog. Keys feel better, too. The only reason to spring for the microkorg is if you wanted a vocoder or more voices of polyphony. Otherwise, this is better in almost all conceivable ways.
You lost me at 1:05 when I saw you have outboard effects in the signal chain. Fail -- we needed to know what the Minilogue can sound like by itself, not with assistance! Too bad, could have been a great video.
