Yep. Microcosm is very similar to the sounds of granular tools in Max/MSP, which is the software on computers which has been used by experimental music artists since the 90s, which Thom and Jonny started using after Kid A.
Francesco, do you think the microcosm is useful in a day to day scenario? A bit scared that it is only one more thing that distracts from playing.... I would need something that gives me whammy like glide effects. But a real whammy is not stereo capable and the meris hedra is a piece of garbage. Thinking of the eventide pitch factor as well...

My microcosm sounds lofi through the front or FX of my amp. Am I missing something? Very dark and washed out sounding even with the filter full clockwise. Yours is perfect and sparkly.
@@PerryFrank Got the nightsky and absolutely love it for building soundscapes... I feel like tho the microcosm gives so much with its elements (remind me about the ice on TL a bit) Buying pedals is a rabbithole, it never stops... I have to stop it tho, gotta move away from home soon
@@marcusstrymon693 it has a beautiful reverb, an infinite combination of sounds starting with the presets and a looper that you can move in the chain inside the pedal, just for example. It is not only a reverb, it's literally a kaleidoscope of sounds.

Does it struggle to reach unity volume like the IJ? Confused as to why pedal makers don't put simple volume boost circuits in pedals this expensive.

If you need a stereo whammy this pedal is not for you. Maybe try a simple mono whammy pedal and then add a stereo pingpong delay. There are a lot
