- If you’ve never been to Owensboro for BBQ Mutton then you need to check out this review of Old Hickory BBQ. Family owned for five-generations since 1918. Support local!!
Goodall made it to Owensboro. We are truly blessed
Thank you! I was Blessed more!
We’ve been to Old Hickory and Moonlite and I couldn’t choose a winner. Both were fantastic!! I will say Old Hickory, to this day, has the BEST ribs I’ve ever had.
Ribs were fantastic
my friend great review ,we have a old hickory here in dayton ,ohio ,the sign looks exactly the same ,it is amazing ,the food here is good also at our old hickory ,thank you for this review
Thank you for watching!
Really enjoy the videos. Hope to see Ryan again in some upcoming reviews.
You’ll see him Wednesday.
Another great review, Barry… It all looked so good.👍🏾👍🏾 I also thought that the potato salad was mashed potatoes too… Never had mutton before though, I would like to to try it someday…., especially BBQ’d mutton.
Thank you!
Hey Coach! We have ate at Old Hickory and Moonlite several times. I love the Mutton at Old Hickory. Moonlite has a really nice dessert selection. Enjoy brother!
Thank you!
Great looking food..I myself am not a fan of mutton. Awesome to see such a hugely successful young man still be so humble & respectful..👍
He’s the best.
Oh yea, looks good!!!!!
Thank you!

Love seeing two of my favorite Eastern Eagles eating good barbecue together!
Yeah it was a great time!
Mutton is old mature sheep, slow cooked to soften the tough meat
yep at least 4 years old
Yeah, I definitely was caught off guard on that question and told Mia-information. Sorry bout that.
Great review! I'd like to see a review on The Lighthouse Restaurant in Sulphur Well, Ky. It sounds so good but would love to see an honest review before I'd travel there from Louisville.
It’s on my list to do sometime this year.
worth the drive for sure. get it family style you wont regret it!!
It's just as good dipping from the 🏓 table. I have to make it to kentucky . Doing something right when they have been there 100 years. Awesome
Amen!
You need to check out Ole South BBQ in Owensboro
👍
You should have tried Moonlite while you where in Owensboro it a big battle in that city you could have settled the battle between the two restaurants.
I did. Check t
So witch one was the better food.
@@jamespritchett1886 Moonlite in my subjective opinion.
I think Old Hickory is where I need to go for ribs, which is my favorite meat entree. They seem scarce in Louisville, all the BBQ establishments I use to love here are gone. Brisket always seems to be dried out and hard to chew, I'll take ribs anytime!
Mutton was more popular in Louisville 60s early 70s when I was a kid.
People had chickens, ducks and you could see horses in the West End. Peach trees were real popular too.
Bootleg BBQ in Southeast Jefferson County has BBQ mutton. Corner of Bardstown Road and Thixton Lane.
I reviewed it. I didn’t see it on the menu.
And it’s not very good BBQ either!
Do they sell beer?
I think so
Yes they do
I get mutton every time I go to Owensboro since I can't get it here
Heard that!!

Grew up around that area. Mutton is king. In my opinion, Moonlight used to be the heavyweight champion of BBQ. But, all things change. Old Hickory is by far the best bbq, and hands down the best mutton. Moonlight still has the best side dishes, but have lost the BBQ crown.
Owensboro, Kentucky is the best Mutton in the world!!! Once at least a year!!
😊
Wow, you're sure getting around these days! I think you might be enjoying retirement? 😁
You got that right!
I think this is where Darrel Waltrip is from....
It is, they call Franklin Tn home now or did last as I recall.
Ole basketball player Rex Chapman from there too. Went to Chattanooga my freshman year and a buddy grew up with him. Knew he was special back in high school.
🤤🙏🙏
With each post I see your subscriptions grow 👍
Thank you!
You know the sh*ts about to get real with the coming typhoon when Gary stars to salivate!
The Moonlite vs Old Hickory BBQ war will never end. For my money, the Moonlite has better sides, with Old Hickory having a slight edge on the meats.
Louisville is right. Mutton sucks . IT IS NASTY!
lol!!!!!
They both are not really that good
