Lamb is delicious. Gamey mutton has to be cooked to fall off the bone or smoked. Fresher lamb is better than a steak. American lamb, most often fed with grain is less gamey than those lamb that graze. Dad's from New Albany/Louisville, Kentuckiana, the last time we were in the region, I had Kentucky style mutton barbecue, I loved it.
I love mutton. Reminds me of my folks and home.
I live just over an hour from Owensboro near Brandenburg. I must get there to try mutton barbecue.
