Seems like such a humble guy. He says "Oh nothing special." Mr. Franklin, it's all very special sir.
Agreed! Thank you for watching!!!
I’ve seen the inside of that dry storage and it was a room the size of a tennis court just full of Lawrys, jars of tallow and mad scientist bbq gagged and tied to a chair in the corner.
Nice! 😂
You might be on to something.
I can confirm. Just escaped😂
@@MadScientistBBQ We were about to send in a search and rescue team.
😂😂
Quite simply this is the "Franklin's" of Franklin interviews. Best I've seen...and I think I've seen them all!
this is insane. What a well organised, calm and happy environment. Everyone seems to really know their business there.
Agreed!
I've had the opportunity to meet Aaron a few times now. Absolutely hilarious guy, a master of his craft, and a massive dork in the best way possible lol.
Agreed!!!
Great job allowing the Girl Scouts out there
That’s fantastic kudos
Aaron Franklin is the Willy Wonka of bbq😂
Not really. He’s not Black Enough.
Great description
Great guy… love seeing him on these videos…
He's the P. T. Barnum of barbecue marketing.
That woman’s eyes!!!! Omg!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was so cool. A visit to Franklin's is still on my bucket list!
Thanks for sharing. Awesome operation! Cheers!
Thanks for posting this video!!! What an amazing operation and people!!!
Thank you for putting this together. I would love to get there one day.
Man…u always manage to get great interviews and tours. Loved this!
I decided to head up here yesterday by my lonesome, to sit in line, and try some of the best BBQ in the land... so I've been told, seen, had (not fresh, kinda, a boss ordered a brisket for a holiday party in Seattle, and that's where I tried it the first time), and cloned (my best attempts).
I spent nearly four hours in line and met a married couple from Houston who was in town for a wedding, a couple friends from Chicago, and another guy from the PnW area, I believe, as we had a lot of memories of Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver, and all over the PnW. We all chatted, had a few drinks, and waited in excitement to try some really good BBQ. And I will tell you, it far exceeded my expectations. The best barbeque I've ever had. Even just chatting with the staff was nice. Taylor was great, as she came out and gave us notifications a few times. All of us even chatted about WA/OR area since I was wearing my Tacoma Rainiers hat, and she knew of the team being from OR.
All the years my family and I lived in Central Texas, we never got to try Franklin Barbecue! It’s rated one of the best BBQ places in the country. And, oh my lamb… the wait was worth it. I would absolutely bs with folks from all over the country and do it again for four more hours.
Every time I smoke a brisket, it’s always Central Texas style, and has always been from watching Aaron Franklin’s Master Class channel. Yesterday was an awesome day. Will definitely do again.
Your story makes me so happy. Thank you for sharing and thank you for checking this out. Truly.
@@kevinsbbqjoints absolutely! The experience is what I was going for and got so much more.
I have a friend in Austin and he and his wife won a full meat dinner which was after normal service. He told me he would never wait in line there, but, the ribs were the best he's ever had.
I do my brisket the Franklin way with Lawry's and tallow and my friends say it's restaurant quality, so, thank you Aaron for all your videos!
Thanks for the tour Aaron! - You're on my bucket list! - Cheers!
Thank you SO much for checking it out!
Wow. That’s just an incredible behind the scenes. Epic stuff Kevin. And great pacing to the edit too. Greets from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you sir. Can't wait to have a drink with you someday.
I was thankful to be able to go to the restaurant. Such a cool experience. I don’t think people realize the vibe of waiting in line there. Johnny Cash music among other great sounds while you are waiting in line.
love this Franklin dude... such a nice, funny guy
It’s crazy to see how a person’s small business dream evolves! I hope we can make it there soon! Congrats!
Sheesh, pretty crazy operation! Thank you for this Kevin!
Agreed! Thanks for checking it out!
This was a tremendous video. Have always enjoyed listening and watching videos on Aaron, this by far was the best. Cant wait to visit, by the way winter isnt winter without snow, Minnesota resident here.
How cool to get a tour of the whole setup! I had no idea of the limited capacity seating.
Everyone needs to do the Franklin experience...it will change your life!
Agreed! Thanks for checking this out!
Thanks for doing this.
My pleasure!
The side rarely seen of Aaron. Great job🙏
I would be proud to call you my son Aaron. You are a very special young man.
You have a awesome work environment! And you are an awesome person!
Aaron is one of my favortite tv chefs. His pbs shows were the best.
I couldn't agree more. I just like how it continues to show the fun and curious side of him. Thank you for watching.
Heading to texas in two weeks time , hope to get there. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Very nice video, loved everything about it 👍 hello Franklin and team 👋
It’s the barbecue and the atmosphere , Arron your such a nerd 💯
I really enjoyed this video. Aaron is such a great Dude!!
Couldn't agree more!
Awesome tour!!!
Thank you! I edited and I still have watched it a few more times. Appreciate Aaron so much for doing this.
Very cool BTS. Hope to make it down one of these days!
great video!
Thank you for sharing your story and video , you must be very intelligent an a great businessman , God has blessed you, 😊
So nice of you
The way to the office was hilarious!😂 Great video, Thanks!
Yes! that was one of my favorite parts. Thank you so much for watching!
that office gave me an anxiety atttack
Appreciate the insight but the music does not fit the vibe at all. Ethereal piano vs. quirky, light-hearted BBQ joint?
Thanks, Sir Zar for the BBQdom!
very cool video thanks
Thanks!
It’s funny I guess I am just such a fan of Aarons I feel like I would be a bit star struck to see him just walking by and saying hello. I wonder if the people in line know they are in the presence of greatness.
I wonder that myself too.
I wish he'd do more content. Guy is awesome.
TOTALLY agree. SO awesome.
Girl Scout Cookies!!!! Proportion of Cookies to Mesquite or Oak or Cherry or Apple? PLEASE! I've been eating Girl Scout Cookies for decades and never thought to include a side of meat. Best regards ,Giovanni.
Loved the video, Aaron is a really animated guy😂😂
wow. Thanks to everyone for this tour. It's impressive to pack so much into that property, it must be all smoke and mirrors. =)
Pretty amazing, right? Thank you for checking it out!
The line can be long but it is kind of fun! It is totally worth it though, world class BBQ.
completely agree. the line is part of the entire experience. I feel. thanks for checking it out!
Legend ❤ wearing a legendary tshirt ❤❤❤
I know! It made me want to buy one!
Wow! Throwing off some serious Mr. Roger's vibes in that intro!! You must be a GREAT neighbor!! 5 lbs. of brisket for a party - of ONE!
"I ate a lot of paint chips as a kid"...
Awesome. LOL
i would love to visit and eat there!!!
Utter genius
Franklin's is the best.
I can’t imagine being in front of the Girl Scouts for hours. They shake me down every time. That being said Aaron is a fantastic host.
Pure awesome. Heard it so many times. Brisket doesnt make money😂 but if its good brisket, that is what gets the humans thru the doors
I loved hearing this too!
Great show Kevin one day I’m Going 😎💯
Awesome! Thank you!
Wicked video!
Glad you liked it! Appreciate it.
The best bbq in the world!!!!
It’s so funny to hear Aaron keep saying “it’s winter now.” I’m from Cornwall in England and their “winter” is the same temperature as a nice spring/summer day here 😂
I’m from northern Minnesota (indescribably colder than anywhere in England) and live in Austin now. There’s plenty of winter days that are in the 20s and 30s down here, just doesn’t last too long!
S/O to Amoeba 🌁🙏🏽🔊
Bucket list.
Definitely.
Saw the cookers. Still have the fab shop?
and this is a slow day wow
RIGHT???!?!?!
I visited the restaurant in 2021, besides the incredible food you can tell they have come so far, the place is big but it grew from small, they deserve the success, food, customer treatment, merchandise, is all so nice. Every penny's worth, i'm jealous i didn't meet Franklin though, such a fun and smart guy, maybe when i return
Winter? Where is all the snow?? I have a foot of snow and its April lol
Random question: is there a time limit your allowed to sit/dine at a table?
What was the camper trailer all about?
Great video. I can't believe how short that line is! Makes me want to head up there this weekend.
Now that I'm thinking about it, it's probably back to being busy.
Agreed! thank you so much for checking this out!
Nice video, weird on hold music playing in background tho.
u got a sub
Would love to try this BBQ but not standing in line to eat anywhere.
What was most amazing about this video was that Kevin didn’t say a word or utter a question! Unless, you advised Aaron what to say ahead of time. Just letting Aaron talk and determine the direction of the video was brilliant! Well done!
The only thing Aaron seemed to forget mentioning was the involvement/ role of his wife. Mrs. Franklin has stated that she is asked all the time what it is like working for her husband. She states that she doesn’t. She is a co-owner who determines the direction of Franklin’s bbq.
The state of dining out in Texas is such that anyone who waits more than half an hour for any restaurant in Texas is being played for a fool and deserves to be served as one.
I couldn't imagine living across the street. Lol. I'm sure those houses are bit more expensive than normal.
you need to do a sweepstakes giveaway just like the Willy Wonka‘s chocolate factory, but you can call it Franklins barbecue factory. enjoyed the tour.
Aaron Franklin is the Michael Scott of BBQ.
You love trailers, don’t ya! Kind of a modular complex! Are you ever going to build a solid brick and mortar building?
This is a brick and mortar. They just have their old trailer in the back that does pre-orders.
Is it possible to order a smoked brisket & have it mailed to my home in Grand Prairie, TX?
If so. Can you provide a link?
Thank you..
You can have it shipped via Goldbelly here: www.goldbelly.com/restaurants/franklin-barbecue
Also Grand Prairie is home to Zavala's Barbecue. 421 W Main St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 - They are amazing too.
Kewl!
Thanks for watching!!!
Franklin Barbecue is the BEST BBQ in TEXAS!
I always say: If they ever needed an actor to play the part of Aron Franklin, they would have to get Jeff Glodblum.... and that's all I got to say about that.
I need to hang out with this cat.
Where is this place
Pretty high tech ordering system she had there.
Haha. Too funny. Seems to really work though. I hear they have it down to almost the exact person they know they will sell out with. Kinda amazing.
Was that $33 per smoker or for all of them? That is a high wood cost for each smoker - great video.
Yeah. $ 33.00 per hour for EACH smoker. Crazy, huh? I didn't even know this.
Steve-0 you crazy guy
Hahaha.
Anything you want to keep cold Tommy
I just noticed that Aaron looks like as if Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O had a son that just so happened to be the same age as them
$34 a pound for brisket! Highway robbery as we say here in Texas! People from Canada coming down to pay that price? I wouldn't go across the street to pay that!
I saw those prices per pound and had to pause the video. Wow that's expensive!
He could show you what is inside the dry storage room, but then he would have to make sure you never leave again. 😂
Hahahaha
Not the coffee cup I would have expected a Texin to be drinking from cowboy. How about a little pinky extension
That would be an expresso. It's not the size of the mug but the quality of the coffee.
I smell like bbq after watching this video.
The color balance in the beginning made Aaron's teeth super yellow 😅 00:00
My take on this is there’s serious competition now and he needs to be the face again. Would love to know when the last time he cooked there.
Nice place but ware is it
You can snack on girlscout cookies while waiting for your bbq
LMAO...the Willy Wonka reference
Anyone with ADHD thinking, this layout is fine? I'm laughing at the maze :)
Yeah. I got a little dizzy trying to wrap my brain around it at first too. Makes complete sense to them for sure. Thank you for checking it out!
34 dollars a pound for brisket is that correct? Oh my.
Aaron = Willy Wonka
Totally Willy Wonka vibes.
