George was a great ball player to. He played minor league ball in the Braves organization, and was considered a top prospect, hitting over 300 in back to back seasons before giving it up to pursue a music carrer

That is simply not correct. He played semi-pro for the Delaware Destroyers, who have never been affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. He was never even remotely close to being a top prospect, and I have no idea where you got these stats from. So you've either been lied to or you're just making things up.

Asia & BJ, you'll love his "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer". Its an great updating and combo of two John Lee Hooker songs, "House Rent Boogie" and "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer". I saw George in concert 11/20/82 a few months after this song/album came out.

Iconic riff, great song. Be sure and check out his song, One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, another great bad boy song. And, speaking of iconic riffs, if you're not already familiar, you should check out the song Mississippi Queen, By Mountain, with Leslie West making his guitar scream defiantly. It's only two and a half minutes long, but it'll kick your butts in those 151 seconds.

I saw George Thorogood back in 1981 when he opened up for the Rolling Stones and J. Geils Band and this band put on a show I had never heard a single song from him at the time but after the concert the very next day I got his move it on over album and there is not one single song that isn't a hit and shows how talented this band is. I suggest you listen to the whole album and you will see how he can take a song called Cocaine Blues by Woody Guthrie old country song covered by many including Johnny Cash and make it just incredible by putting his spin on it. Then check out who do you love , another bad boy rock song.

Lots of cuts from this concert available to watch. There used to be lots of clubs/venues like this where the audiences were 10 feet away from the stage. --- Don't know if many are still around. --- Saw these guys perform about 4 years ago in Laughlin NV. Last I heard George was still performing.

You'd heard the song before, but live like this, with that killer riff, and those killer slides where George's face reflects every sound? Just brilliant. I was introduced to this band way back in the '80s but to my regret, never got to a live show. He certainly could kick a... onstage.

Ah yes. Fantastic song, fantastic performance. If you go and see The Yardbirds singing a Bo Diddley song called ,I'm a Man. "The Yardbirds I'm a Man (live 1967) ", you may see a similarity to this song by George. (You may also spot a young man named Jimmy Page on guitar)

Rolling Stone Magazine wrote about George Thorogood if rock music was like food, that George Thorogood is a Deluxe Cheeseburger with Fries.
When I was in High School in 1981 or so my friend had an 8 Track tape of Thorogood's greatest hits as the only music in his car. We spent hours upon hours listening to it while driving and partying.

I lived in Delaware for a while in the early mid-80s and George Thorogood would show up I live down by the beach in Rehoboth and there's a place called Dewey Beach and a little bar they're called the Bottle & Cork on the bay you could be sitting there at the end of the night and all the sudden you would hear jamming out on the Piazza and you go out there and George Thorogood just cranking it drunk off his behind he used to drink hard. You guys really should watch this whole concert it is freaking phenomenal

A bad boy image, but in real life, as I understand, he is a pretty nice guy from Delaware. He's 71 now, but in the 70's he played semi-pro baseball (2nd base) and his drummer played in the outfield.

This a great song! It was featured in movies such as John Carpenter's "Christine" & "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" & the wrestling tag-team of "The Dynamic Duo", "Gentleman" Chris Adams & "The Handsome Halfbreed, Gorgeous" Gino Hernandez used this song as their music entrance in World Class Championship Wrestling fueding with The Von Erich Brothers. Classic old school wrestling! You have to check out the hair match where whatever tag-team lost the match, both wrestlers would have their head shaved bald in the middle of the ring!
Also, George was a wrestling fan as well so check out his music video "Willie & The Hand Jive". It's on UA-cam

I had delivered a supply of propane to a club in Dallas, TX called The Bomb Factory. I needed the owner to sign my service ticket, so I had to go the the front of the building to find him, and the bus for George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers had pulled up. George and the club owner were talking, so I waited quietly by. The owner signed my ticket, then introduced me to George... I was so excited just for the chance to meet him! George Thorogood told me he wanted to do a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and asked if I thought it would be received well? He also had one of Stevie's hats to wear for the occasion! "Everyone will love it!", I told him. Then he asked if I was coming to the show? I told him I didn't have tickets, so he turns to the owner and tells to set aside 6 tickets for ME!!&! Me and my friends were seated next to the stage, got free drinks and a meet & greet backstage after the show!!&! During the SRV tribute, George told the crowd that if they didn't like what he was playing, then he pointed at me and winked, that it's "his fault!" Definitely a day and night that I will forever remember!!&! AWESOMENESS ❤

What was I doing? I'm 76 now and I remember like it was yesterday. I was in my basement drum room with the door closed beating on my TAMA ROCKSTAR DOUBLE BASS with all the cymbals, sizzler, hi hat, cow bells, click track, speakers blasting, sweating, singing along with my head set mic...MAN YES!!! All after a hard day working at the bank. Yep, never forget that basement drum room with carpet on the ceiling, walls, and floor to soak up all the vibration and sweat. It was the old coal room next to the furnace and still had the shaft for the bin re-fill from the driveway. BTW...nice reaction you two.

This was the USS LaSalle's pull away song, and extra volume when the Admiral wasn't onboard or when the targeted audience was a foreign ship(s). The memories...on the Great White Ghost of the Arabian Coast!
For those who don't know, the LaSalle was painted all white when it was in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. A pull away song is the song played on the 1MC (sound system) when breaking away from another ship(s) or pier.

Saw him at the Fox in Atlanta spring of 86. Was probably the coolest rowdy show I have ever seen! Everybody grooving, passing whiskey, shine and a few other things (smoking in theaters was still a thing)! Was a F'n blast!!!

This is a good song. My mom has it for my stepdads ringtone when he calls. Then i used to answer for an orthopedic doctor amd his ringtone was bad to the bone (hes a bone doctor).

About 40 years ago me and my bud used to roll around in his Convertible Chevy Camaro listening to George’s Very Best Of. This is the song. RIP Boy.

George facial expressions and bad boys attitude reminds me of Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison, all great musicans and performers. Great reaction to Bad To The Bone 🦴. Thank you.
