I met George Thorogood in Dallas, TX. I had to get the owner of a nightclub to sign a service ticket for me when the band's bus arrived. George stepped out first and went to see the owner. I was standing there next to him completely starstruck!!&! George turned and asked me if I was going to be at the show? Embarrassed, I told him I couldn't afford to go. He turned back to the owner and asked if he could set me up with some tickets. I was given 6 tickets, a table next to the stage and free drinks all night for me and my friends!!&! This event took place not long after Stevie Ray Vaughan had passed. George Thorogood actually asked me if I thought it was too soon to do a tribute to Stevie Ray, which blew me away that my opinion was important to him!!&! He showed me a hat that Stevie Ray had given him, and I told, "Wear the hat, because everyone knows who's hat that was! And you gotta do something for Stevie! They'll love you for it!" On stage, when he put that hat on, the crowd lost their minds! And then he pointed at me and told the crowd, "If this ain't cool... it's his fault!", then launched into PRIDE AND JOY, THE HOUSE IS ROCKIN', and SCUTTLE BUTTIN'!!&! I will remember that whole day for as long as I'm still above ground!!&!
I don't know how many times I've seen "G.T.&Ds. 1980s he Danced his heart out, Jitter-Bug around. Every concert sold out. Best "BAR" band ever, dance fest.
Hey Ladies! George is awesome, plays a mean guitar. I saw George in concert every year for decades. Summer isn't summer without seeing George in concert! He is BAD TO THE BONE❗️❗️🎸🎸🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴👍😎
True classic. That guitar riff is so iconic that I’ve heard it in tons of different things. Hearing it = instant recognition. The song can teach you how to be a badass. And I think George put all the energy he had into those killer solos.
I remember when this song first came out. It is a fun song! His slide work was great. Thanks, as usual, for doing this!! Bourbon, scotch, and beer is another great one by him!! Evidently, y’all need to cleanse your minds!!! 😁🤪🤘🤘🎸🎸
I saw George Thorogood in the 70s at a small club in Western Massachusetts. He hadn't hit it big yet so he mostly played in small venues. He had the place rocking. Only time I actually saw people on tabletops dancing. Within a couple of years after I saw him he was doing a stadium tour opening for the Rolling Stones.
One Bourbon, one Scotch & one Beer live. Mind numbingly good. Love the fact Lulu is so good with her animals. Total city boy, only have had dogs(Rottweilers) & many more cats than I could count. Very envious of all the animals she has to tend to.
For me, the special thing about George Thorogood is that he was one of the first rock stars I ever listened to. I started listening to him at a young age. A big reason is that I loved monster trucks around that time and this song is personified with the most popular monster truck, “Grave Digger”. Since then, him and this song have held a special place in my life.
I got to see George Thorogood and the Destroyers back in 1981 when they opened for The Rolling Stones in Buffalo, they put on a great show!!! Another one of their big hit songs was 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer', there was lots of radio air play for George on our local Rock Station!!!
George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers, another one of my all-time favourite bands. Superb! Another favourite song of mine by them is "I drink alone", which has quite a similar vibe to "Bad to the bone". Also their set at the original 1985 Live Aid concert along with the great blues guitarist Albert Collins is absolutely awesome and well worth seeing if you can find the video.
Mr. George Thorogood is a party animal, along with his band, The Delaware Destroyers. He's been tearing it up since at least the early 70's, but I have to say that "Bad To The Bone" is my favorite song by him. But I also like "One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer", the studio version of that is better than the live IMO, also, "I Drink Alone" and "Move It On Over". "Bad To The Bone" opens the movie "Christine", about a haunted car, and really sets the mood.
Finally, I can comment on a fun fact.. I went to Howard High School (mid 80s) and every day during lunch (shhh) and a few classes. Me and my friends would shoot pool in Wilmington (2 blocks from Howard) and every so often he would stop in and shoot with us. ..
Donna your eyes fall, your lips enchant, your look burn, your kiss of life is worth it, when I see you I get wings, when I dream of you I become strong, when I love I burn with happiness, it is because I love you ♥️♥️♥️
Great live show. I was 3 rows back, stage left from the speaker stack. My ears were ringing for 3 days, which is bad today, but back then, it meant that the show was perfect. 😂🎉🤘
Bad to the Bone was in two movies that I am aware of: Terminator 2 and Christine! One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer is the next one you should check out! I Drink Alone, Gear Jammer, Move It On Over, Who Do You Love are all bangers!!
Thanks for your reaction to this very talented artist. One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer/House Rent Blues; Move It On Over; I Drink Alone; If You Don't Start Drinking; and Get a Haircut and Get a Real Job are all great songs by George Thorogood and The Delaware Destroyers. Congratulations, Lulu on your achievement. You are bad to the bone in a good way.
Years ago, ladies.Three favorite lady reactors. I went to go see monster truck rally Van Andel Arena Grand Rapids Mi Excalibur truck last tour I met driver and Denmis Anderson of Grave Digger These two big lights come out of the tunel all of a sudden I hear very loudly bad to the bone by George.Thoroughgood and the destroyers Is one awesome night
If there's any other song that Lonesome George does that has a high energy level equal to Bad To The Bone, its The "One Bourbon" song. There is an "official version" of the song on UA-cam from the same concert as this version was extracted from, that is beyond classic, with some jammin' and improvising included. Check it out.
the phrase "bad to the bone" does sort of sound like a junkyard dog making a mess out of a buffalo carcass. thoroughgood doesnt mess. hes on tour with john fogarty of creedence clearwater revival this summer. those should be some shows.
This is a cover. This song was written by Bluesman Muddy Water in the erarly 1950s. Lulu if you want to see George with longer hair you will have to watch earlier recording from George.
In another posting, a viewer who knew the group's business manager said that the song had been licensed for use in 27 different movies, in addition to other applications.
It's a classic!!!!!! Been around forever I absolutely love it!!!!! Up next, it's got to be , " ONE BOURBON ONE SCOTCH AND ONE BEER " I prefer a live version like BAD TO THE BONE but that's just me , LOL 😂 😆 Great reaction 👍🏼🎯💯 Keep up the good work 3G 🌹👏🏼🔥🤟🏼❤️✌🏼

He made those "on stage" faces when he shot pool, especially when he was close to winning.. haha. Respectfully speaking
Cool
Thank you, Ladies! Love it! ❤
Our pleasure!
Bbbbdad baboom !! Lulu . Wintersun Alex ❄️❤
As a guitar player, I can tell you that a semi-hollow body Axe ran through a tube amp has a big, ballsy tone.
Who do you love is another classic.
He’s got another song called “I Drink Alone” that has a similar tune to this.

This is a cover. This song was written by Bluesman Muddy Water in the erarly 1950s. Lulu if you want to see George with longer hair you will have to watch earlier recording from George.
Exactly and by Landlady he is talking about his Old Lady.
George wrote Bad to the Born with the idea that Muddy Waters would release it, for some reason, record label reasons Muddy was unable.
This was written by George Thorogood, not Muddy Waters, and released in 1982. It is said to be the first song he ever wrote.
Hocus Pocus by Focus is bad to the bone! 🙂
