Doc, I'm in NJ and I cannot thank you enough for all of your knowledge in these videos. I've been following step by step for a year now and watching even some of your older videos too. I have people that stop and ask if my lawn is fake, that's how good it looks. We had a a drought here this summer as well and I used the short watering cycle along with some baby shampoo treatments along with Super Juice. I had maybe 2 hot spots on my entire lawn that came back after 2 days of being brown however my grass was super green and looking awesome the entire summer while everyone elses was burnt from the sun and heat. So thank you over and over again for all the years of service you've given us on YT.
I Live in West Tennessee, my yard is a mixture weeds and everything else. What can I do now to have a better yard in the spring and summer Thanks Michael
OK. I'm just north of Atlanta. We went a month without rain, I put down Barricade on Monday (10/10) so the soil was plenty dry. We then got 0.1 inches of rain and then 0.6 inches of rain the next day. Following what you've said, I think I should be pretty good (I hope).
My guess is that your lawn stayed green compared to your neighbors more than just because of irrigation. I say this because I am in Georgia and my lawn is currently greener than virtually all my neighbors, and I don't have built-in irrigation. However, I do apply an assortment of nutrients, PGR, and I mow lower than most others. I was hoping to figure out which exactly of these has resulted in this late-season green.
Hi doc, I bought a reel mower as my grass was very tall, I cut it slow and now is around 1 inch. But is all brown, I am in south florida, I have Bermuda and zoysia japonica, the question is do you think the grass will come back? Should apply pgf balance to help to get green again? Here we still around 90 every day. Short water cycles? And as now the high is under control, just cut once a week? Right now is at 3/4 the high, I am planning to keep it at 1 inch. Thank you in advance.
I agree with people about not being a Trophy Hunter I'm definitely not but if I was it wouldn't be a problem nobody ever has a problem getting rid of venison
Hello Doc I love your videos but I've been meaning to ask you about your lawn care guides. I looked on your site about 6 months ago and I didn't see one for st augustine. I live in texas city...(gulf coast next to Galveston).. Is there one of your other lawn guides that I could follow that would be the same for st augustine grass...thanks
Your videos are very informative thank you. Quick question, I have a cool season lawn, if I have overseeded this fall and I want to control Poa annua for next spring, is it safe to apply a pre-emergent now or is it too late or is it not even safe for new grass?
Thanks for the info Doc. Living up in NH, we are going to see snow probably within a month to 6 weeks. Is it worth putting down a pre-emergent now? I bought the Barricade Plus with Lawn food in error.
I seeded Bermuda this early summer. Some areas did well, but definitely have some bare spots. Not sure if my days will be long enough and Temps high enough to allow the Bermuda to cover up the bare spots even though I'm in Zone 9a. Do you recommend I seed with Rye grass to protect those bare spots? Should I seed the entire lawn or only the bare spots with rye grass? Thanks

Doc...you forgot to talk about why you're backing off Dirt Booster and going to HumiChar.
Always followed your advise. My Bermuda grass is still green everyone else in my neighborhood that has Bermuda grass is brown.
I agree, watering the lawn with short cycles is best.
The cow impression was spot on

Doc enjoy your Venison. You deserve it.
Hope you get rain soon.

Lookig good!
I think short cycle watering is a lot like drip irrigation. It works well here in central NC.
Love the wildlife at the Rake Ranch!
Doc, did you see that Andersons Barricade is available on Home Depot’s website? The only thing is it’s a little more expensive

Doc, when do you turn off (for the season) the army worms moth catcher (Duramax)?
Which guide should I follow if I got St aug??
How many days a week do you short cycle?
Would you kindly advise on how you would go after killing off common Bermuda from invading the hybrid Bermuda? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
What is the name of the liquid preemergent you use?
And you will post that pic of your new trophy on Instagram! Thank you for all your tips and warnings!
Are you guys going to put some kind of protection over your fields so the deer can’t get too? It looks like they are just eating away😢😢.
That storage container could be a great place to go in the event of severe weather.
Are you gonna show us any hunting videos this fall? I know the Georgia season is in now. Have ya killed any?
Good luck with the season sir. Don’t pay any attention to non hunters

Hey doc I’m afraid I’m applied pre emergent too early. 5 day average for soil temp is 75° in my area. Can I apply it again when temps drop?
