    I would do the Evo III flywheel/jb if your not oem minded and 276°/276° schrick or equal catcam setup if you have a stock 215 engine with cf airbox.
    It brings out the best off the cf setup without losing down low torque/power.
    I started with a cf airbox and 3.5kg flywheel, it ended with a 300hp 2.5 S14 😀

    Raj you must be well happy, like a new car feeling! Totally transformed the power delivery and the noise is 👌.
    Personally I wouldn't bother chasing a few more horses if it's not going on a track. The E30 M3 is iconic enough and true petrolheads know that.
    🤙

    I have two e30 m3s one with carbon airbox and one with stock airbox. Bothe have upgraded cams and both jumped up in power minimum 20% with the cam upgrades, so yes well worth it and they drive perfectly in traffic. The one running the carbon airbox has 292/274 cams, great compromise between low end torque and top end, and the one running stock airbox has 284/274 cams also drives great. In summary go for it you won’t regret it

    If you want to improve throttle response and pickup of the revs, install a lighter flywheel. I have a JBR aluminum 3,5kgs flywheel and the response is much better.

    The new intake would be complimented by a change in cams. However, you can also change the standard cam pulleys for verniered items. This will allow for more tunability. If it were my own vehicle, I would flow the head and put higher rise cams in it. Beautiful car.

    The smoke is probably the valve stem seals, good excuse to do the cams at the same time

    I'd recommend a genuine sport evo flywheel next. I've read its great bang for the buck and you'll feel the difference alot. Sport evo whee's also. Just my .02 worth. What a Beautiful clean car!

    I'd get the cams done not like can't afford it lol, if i was you i'd buy some adjustable cam pulleys so they can we setup properly, makes a big difference when i had them on my RST, it will require another remap though, get it done and everytime you step in it you know you are driving the car at its best, also i noticed some blue smoke on the rollers, like someone said below its prob stem seals in which case perfect timing to get the cams and adjustable cam pulley fitted ;)

    Nice video man, loved to see the process! Video could be a little tighter imo. About the cam, are there other (less aggressive) options that would fix the dip and maybe the top end without sacrificing the drive ability? Regards, Tonny

    Hi Raj, personally I wouldn't bother with the cams and I've worked on a rolling road and all cars smoke as you let off the throttle, if there was a problem your tuner would of told you, stunning car mate and 100% bbs's👍

    No point of cams, its not gonna be a track car and its not gonna gain much. Car is perfect as is

  • @bones435
    @bones435 2 роки тому

    Leave the car as it is don't change the cams, its running nice and reliable, last thing you want is it to sound lumpy and not running right and might give you problems that you don't need.

  • @Misano-Red

    Case of damned if you do, damned if you don't re: the cams.
    Found myself in a similar position when restoring my Evo, but my dilemma was change to Alpha N or keep standard intake? I wanted my cake and to eat it. Wanted to keep the OE look of the Evo 2 engine but make it sound different, therefore, replaced the stock metal plenum with a carbon fibre one and installed a racing SuperSprint rear box. My Evo was the RHD Misano Red car at BMR when you popped in to have your Alpha N installed.
    Addressing your dilemma whether to change cams. Hearing you describe how you intend to use/enjoy the car involving B road dashes and shows, then I would leave the stock cams and invest in a little chassis tuning to make the car handle sharper/quicker for those B road fun days, and change its stance for those shows.
    Purple tag or Z3 steering rack swap for a quicker steering, and coil over suspension and a change of wheels/tyres.
    Our M3s are no longer 'fast' compared to more average modern cars, however, ours remain some of the finest handling.
    Would I rather drive fast in a slower but more exciting chassis or drive slower in a faster car?
    Unless of course you have the track skills of a Robert, Johnny or Steve, then go for the uprgrades that will increase that B road buzz.
    Enjoy it Raj.

      Hey mate, I'm thinking about doing the stock carbon airbox replacement at the moment. Did it make much difference to the intake noise? Cheers!

    • @Misano-Red
      @Misano-Red 2 роки тому +1

      @@SNWMBL The car certainly sounds different from stock. How much of that difference is down to the CF plenum is difficult to ascertain, because the stock exhaust was replaced at the same time with a SS Supersprint racing rear box and centre X pipe. The other noticeable improvement definitely on account of the CF plenum is the engine/throttle responsive which I imagine is due to the lower air temperature reaching the throttle bodies.
