I know people always think of the 7 as "the phone that removed the headphone jack" but I always liked its design. It was the last of the aluminum-backed iPhones and I thought it looked much cleaner than the design of the 6 and 6S because of how they handled the antenna bands.
Of course it will cus it's a big deal having a headphone jack to plug your headphones cus cable is cable and lasts long unlike wireless which when the batteries die you'll have to throw them in the trash, but it's apple they'll do everything to make money from everything even if it's the smallest thing, even if something gives you a convenience, keep consuming (spending money on their products) and don't question anything, that's how apple works, and the headphone jack could've been kept there is a space and people did mod it back in the regular 7
@@realspeedghxst I completely agree with you I was just trying to say that I like the design of the 7 more than the 6 or 6S. I also agree that wireless headphones are still pretty bad in 2022 compared to wired headphones and that Apple took away the headphone jack just to sell AirPods.

I caught a mistake in the video. When you mention the storage options you said that it comes in 32GB 64GB and 128 GB. But the 7 never had a 64 GB option. It only came in 32 GB 128 GB and 256 GB.

@@iClassic TBH, I had the iPhone 7. It was kind of boring after a while. I was upgrading from the iPhone 6s so I didn’t really notice anything different.

Performance are not bad, the problem is the battery
I had the iPhone 7, that was my second iPhone that I owned at the time. It was great! I loved the design, touch id, the color was rose gold which was the second option that I wanted since they didn't have a the jet black anymore. I had the 5s before this phone so it felt like a huge upgrade. And I miss all of the fun times I had with that phone, it was my favorite out of all the phones I've had. And I remember how much it blew me away when I first had it. And it was one of the only phones that I never broke (except for my newest one now). I just want to say, thank you for bringing back all of the nostalgia for me. Those days with the home button, touch ID, and amazing battery life. Are what got me into this phone, and yeah the headphone jack wasn't there. But the rest of the upgrade was there!
This was my favorite design honesty...when it first came out, I got the Jet Black 7 Plus with 256 gb and I thought it was fantastic. It was fast, thin, and I loved the design, with the mirror reflective surface and hidden antenna bands on the top and bottom. Being the first iPhone without a headphone made it a bit difficult in High School when friends gave me an aux cord to plug into their cars, only for me to patiently explain that I didn't have my dongle. However, It was my first iPhone with 3D Touch which I thought was magical, the first IP67 water resistant iPhone, and the first iPhone with a telescopic camera with 2X zoom and they first with Portrait photos. The camera was so good at the time that for my video class, I'd used the phone instead of the cheap camcorders.
No way I’m still using my Matte Black 7. No issues were found, no lag what so ever. I love the design ❤

I gave my iPhone 11 to my boyfriend and bought myself a 7 plus. It heats up a lot when doing some tasks, but in general it works very well!
Yup. This phone still has some punches to pull in 2022. I had an iPhone 7 Plus as backup, after upgrading to iPhone 12. Recently I had an accident with iPhone 12 and switched to iPhone 7 Plus temporarily. I love the screen aspect ratio more than the narrower ones in iPhone 12. TouchID works like a charm and more accurate than FaceID. Still has a 1 day battery (though with a bit more careful use). Photos comes out nice when in good lighting.
I managed to bag myself a 7+ on iOS 10.3.1 recently. It’s 256GB so it’s now a huge archive of 32-bit apps that will soon be completely removed from the Store. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.

Didn't apple already remove 32 bit apps from the app store? Or will they be removing them from your purchased apps?
Oaxty, I didn’t search much about the 32 but apps, but I did stumble across an art isle mentioning apple beginning to phase them out and if I’m not mistaken, it was a year or two old. I’m sure the OP would have the best answer, as I assume your question was directed at him?

That's good to hear! I want to try it 'cause I really like it. Can you say some thing about it? Like...is the battery time good enough, does it lagging/bugging, is the camera good for a person who nit really takes photos oftenly, i mean is it really bad, normal, or very good. That's crazy to see 74% battery health. I gave my dad an old 6s that was my wife's years ago. She used the crap out it for about 2 years, then my daughter had it for a year and then eventually my dad. He used it for a couple of years until recently when I gave him an 8. When he gave it back to me it still had 94% battery health! How do people run their batteries down so much? I've had a plethora of iPhones over the years and none of them have gone below 96%. Prior to my current 13 pro max I used an XR for about 28 months and when I put it in the drawer it was still at 98%. Even my wife's 11 that she had for almost 3 years was at 97%. And we're talking pretty heavy use too.

i7+ 256GB user here since 2017. Still rocking. Battery have issues, screen is getting older and burn marks, overheat, 3D touch isn’t working properly in some parts. Daily driver, insane amount of gaming daily. I’m not surprised of my issues now. I used it to the maximum possible.
If you are gonna buy in 2023. I don’t recommend. I feel my phone is expiring slowly now.
Currently, I own an iPhone 13 with 256GB, but back in 2018 when I sold my Galaxy S7 Edge, I bought an iPhone 7 Plus with 128GB from a lawyer who just got brand new iPhone XS back then. It was the first phone I bought with my own money, and it was gorgeous, despite the iPhone X already out there. I used it until June 2022 when it died on me because of a NAND issue on the motherboard that rendered the phone unfixable, and also caused touch disease. After this I bought my iPhone 13, but I still love the 7 Plus, my first phone in a long time that I’ve used for 4 years straight (not even feature phones stranded a chance).
If you can find a cheap model with at least 128GB as a beater, go ahead, but don’t forget to replace the battery, because you’ll need it.

When it comes to iOS updates, I don’t really understand what Apple is doing. They have released iPadOS 16 for the iPad 5th generation which has the same hardware specs as the iPhone 6S/6S plus and the original iPad Pro which has a slower A9X cpu.
So I think that the iPhone 7 and 7 plus definitely would have been able to run iOS 16 without any problems, if it hadn’t been for Apple blocking it.
If you ask me, the iPad fifth generation, should have never gotten iPadOS 16, it’s way too slow. It was having problems on iOS 15, and now it’s much slower on iOS 16. period my bad, iPadOS 16.

I’m still using my iPhone 7 Plus as a daily driver. Got it on iOS 10.1.1 and still going strong on 14.3 And jailbroken.
i remember the hype around the jet black 7+. it was gorgeous and an one of a kind iphone
here with jailbroken ios 14.4 6s as a secondary phone alongside my Pixel. Still performs well in casual usage.

Gave one to my daughter for 6th grade. It can call, text, take decent photos, run her google classroom. It’s a great inexpensive phone for student use. I’ve seen parents spoil their kids by buying the latest and greatest. Geez.

I accidentally broke my 11 and now running with the my old 7 plus 128gb for the couple of month. And i can say i almost didn’t notice the difference in everyday work with him :D I’m using ios 14.3, it’s work smooth and fast, never seen any lags or bugs in this time. Main and obvious difference between 7+ and 11 in ordinary use is Face ID and cameras, that’s all.
That's it. I use a 13Pro as my main phone and a 7 (with ios15) as company phone. The 13Pro is amazing but sometimes in my lunch break I just realize that I'm browsing the internet on the 7 because that was in my hand. Even that the 7 stuck on iOS 15, it is a fully functional "up to date" phone with totally reasonable compromises.
I had an Mate Black 128GB iPhone 7 Plus from 2020 to 2021, the reason why it only lasted one year is because the battery, it was so bad that it wouldn't last a more than 5 sec, it was around 80 - 90 on battery health when I bought it, but when last used it, it was around at least 50 on battery health, and it was all within one year, I had Fortnite on it before it got removed the App Store and the Play Store

Apple should provide security updates for the next few years, 15.7.1 being the first of those.
My work phone is a 7+ with a new battery at 100% health, gets me through a full work day with at least 50% charge on average by bed time.
If you are a technofile, the 7/7+ is not a phone you should be considering.
But if you need a iPhone for the next two to four years, that will serve you well for basic needs. I think these will be fine.
As I said, my work phone is a 7+ and I use a 7 daily as my streaming device, don’t listen to a radio at all, just stream pod or vid cast to my work truck radio through the day.
As most know, the 6,7,8, and all current SE batteries are very small so I use a GenFoxy battery case on my 7.
Most days I never need to tap the case battery, but occasionally I do need it and that case will charge my 7 almost twice over giving the better part of 2. 75 full charges, this includes the phone’s original full charge. And on my second Gen SE almost 3.5 full charges, including the phones original full charge.
The 7/7+ are very capable devices today, providing you are not a power user/technofile.
As to Apple and older devices.
Apple should commit to a 10 year update schedule for ALL their devices.
6 years iOS and 4 years security.
For the criminally outrageous prices they charge for all their stuff, they should commit to their customers that support time frame.
Love their products, but Apple is a bastard company for how they treat their customer base.
Also, not sim tray in the USA is BS, the rest of the world get them but not us.
Newest iPhone I’ll buy is 13 line. For their heavy handed behavior, they can kiss off.
But I still love the older devices 😊

A friend let me borrow his 7 Plus last year after my XS broke! It wasn’t the best phone to have in 2022 but at least I had something to tide me over until my 14 Pro arrived!
Great phone, replaced battery once and still use it nowadays. The only disadvantage: thermal throttling, that you never know when will happen. Otherwise, pictures are decent, battery is ok, screen size is also good.

@@Bxrben_Dr1p Apple should’ve gave the iPhone 7 iOS 16, it was still able to handle it. for some reason, they still support the iPad fifth generation which has much weaker, hardware than the iPhone 7 does. also, the iPad six generation has the same chip as the iPhone 7 does

I have 7 Plus in Jet Black brand new on iOS 10.
My iPhone 6 plus has no more update. But I still use it for UA-cam Music through a Bluetooth speaker and that’s it.

Bought mine with 256 gb in December of 2016. Still using it on IOS 15 in late September 2023. No problems but the battery is at 71%. I’ll get a new iPhone (maybe android again)when this one dies or needed apps are no longer supported.
Recently, I solved The ghost touch issue in my iPhoe 7 plus 256 GB after replace the display and it continues stills great phone nowadays.
Yes it’s worth only if stuck on iOS 10 not more. iOs update is equal to slow process and battery issue

It’s honestly one of the worst phones so far because of worse battery life! If you want something that lasts for a long time, maybe investing an iPhone 13 is worth it!

I’m a 7 plus user an apple user for a while now and I must say I hate the fact that the apps require a certain iOS unlike android it still supports older phones within a year or 2 the 7 plus will no longer works with new app and an older android will still be able to download the similar app
Mine stopped working about a month ago. Depends on who you are and what you need it for, but for the most part, I’d say that if you use your phone a lot, this isn’t worth it anymore.
Still using mine with iOS 15.8.1 (last update: January 2024)

i recommend getting an Iphone SE 2020 instead of this phone, theyre both around the same price, but iphone SE 2020 has iphone 8s camera with 11's specs, the only downside from that and the 7 plus is the 7 plus is bigger and had an extra camera

this phone seems very similar to the iphone 6S except bigger, has A10, and dual cam. Now can you believe the 2016 iphone SE lived to the same IOS version as this 7 plus.

Really a shame that it won’t be updated to iOS 16, but I get it, I have an 8 Plus and with this update it took a hit on performance and battery life, probably would be even worse on the 7 series.

it still good but sadly
- no jack so they use lightning earphone
- stuck on iOS 15
- the battery is small
- some hard apps (like genshin impact) hard to run
- warmed up easily
