I was working for AT&T at the time this launched. We got busy, but it was pretty fun hearing and talking to customers about what they thought. The facts that it wasn't redesigned and didn't have LTE were pretty controversial. The camera seemed to blow people's minds though. It was so good, especially for 2011. Siri was cool, and iPhone 4 users were all rightfully upset and not getting it in the iOS 5 update.
Yeah, I remember the lack of LTE being a pretty big deal back then. Reminds me of how long Apple took to put 5G into their iPhone lineup. Typically Apple doesn't seem to put the latest technology into their products until they think it is going to work well.
@@thetechloop65 Apple is still dragging their feet on fast charging. They dragged their feet on copy/paste on their phones. They fucking *hate* competition forcing them into integrating new tech. It is the actual reason why i left them when they released the iphone 5.
@@cronoesify Don't blame you, I haven't used an Apple product since the iPhone 5s many years ago when I got a good deal on an open box one. I switched to a Samsung S7 after and have had Samsungs since. You get more features and more phone for your money. And One UI is really good now, nothing like the old Touchjizz (as I used to call it) software. I'm on a Z Flip 3 now and there's just no other equivalent from any other manufacturer to this phone
@@thetechloop65 i am a samsung fan and i absolutely hated touchwiz it got decent with S5 touchwiz but still the worst launcher in my opinion one ui was a huge upgrade
I dug up our old iPhone 4 a couple months ago and started using it. Sadly it's on IOS 7 so it's ridiculously slow. I think that the 4/4s were one of the best iPhones apple ever made, nice square shape, high tech and still holds up relatively well today. Keep up the great content!
The iPhone 4/4s is when iPhones got good to me, ik the 3GS made lots of headway with the massive speed boost but I think the combination of that + the retina screen is when it all came together. I myself had a Palm powered smartphone but I also had the iPod Touch 4th gen. The old days indeed.
Before the iPhone 4 I had not interest whatsoever about the the iPhone. I was happy with my Nokia N95. It was the Industrial Design of the iPhone 4 that made move to Apple.
During 2020-2021 (7-8th grade for me) I used an iPhone 4s the whole time. At first it was running iOS 9, but it was unstable so I downgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and it still works perfectly.

The iPhone 4S will always be my favourite phone. Incredible power at the time and an awesome modern design, It was my daily since launch until late 2018 so quite some years and I always like to come back and use it for a while (running 6.1.3). I also used my 3GS as my daily for a bit in 2021 because I lost my phone at the time and it always hits me the difference between the iPhone 3G and 4.

I actually have a little collection of older Apple devices, such as an iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1.3, an even older iPod touch 2nd generation from 2008, iPod touch 1st generation from 2007, and then finally, the oldest Apple device that I have is an iPod classic 5th generation from 2005. For my daily driver, I never really liked iPhones a lot, I like Samsung Galaxy phones better because of better screen quality and more flexibility and features with the software.
As i can see you promote your tutorial who use iOS 8 downgrade + coolbooter, you should try iOS-OTA-Downgrader script to entirely downgrade your 4s to iOS 6.1.3
I still use mine when my 12’s battery runs out and i need to go out. I preferred using the last version of ios since it supports lots of the apps i usually need. The only thing that bugs me is not having access to my wallet or banking apps but i would not use them anyways for safety reasons so… My daily at the moment is a 2016 SE and this thing is surprisingly capable for the year it’s from! It’s really fun to go out with this great looking and vintage device that looks like It’s from 2013!!
Actually no it wasn’t Steve Jobs last iPhones he oversaw the design of the 5 a year before it was released, it’s on the documents that he okayed the 5 for the next launch. The 4s was the last one when he was alive, yes. Was not the last design that he oversaw

my phone broke in like 2018ish and i had an iphone 4s and it wasn't that bad, i could watch youtube and use twitter on it just fine although i was on ios 7 so the apps worked better although it was slower, i got a 6s like a year later and then this weekend got a 13 256gb model

I have an iPod (purchased 2nd hand) from this era and it only runs iOS 6. It still plays my music. The problem is on the newer iOS’ you can’t transfer your files...I used 💻 before going to iPads, and you have to repurchase everything! (Not doing that!)
I have an iPhone 6 and I hate the size of it. I wish my iPhone 4s still worked for everything, I would use it. I like the smaller size and more robust charger so much better.
to be honest the oldest iPhone i would like to use is the iPhone 4s since i use Siri daily and iPhones before the iPhone 4S dont have Siri my current daily driver (iPhone 7) can still run iOS 15.7 and the iPhone 4s can only run iOS only up to iOS 9 so i would stick to my current daily driver
I've been using an iPhone 4s on iOS 9 from 2017 right up until last week, July 2022. The parking meter payment app stopped working. Then the public transit app stopped working followed by WhatsApp and then UA-cam. But it worked as a phone, music player, camera, wallet, podcast player, text messenger, FaceTime, Zoom, and web browser. Email was agonizingly slow. What finally made me decommission the phone was my cell phone carrier turning off their 3G towers.
The older iphones look better then the new ones I'd rather use a old iphone then new And with network I have a TCL 5G t mobile and where my second family is they are in a deadzone well, I can still get 2G and have internet and luckily I'm use to slow internet
It’s funny to me that the 4s is so tiny compared to the new iPhones. I have the 13 pro max now and if held it, it’d be so small. Yet I used to have it when I was in like 4th or 5th grade 😭
This design will forever remain as the owner of the "ultimate iPhone design" crown, there's something so special about this design language, I'm so sad that iPhone 14 pros will not be inspired by this design
This is a really biased review when the line "this is awesome for media consumption" was said. Indeed, this phone was ahead of it's time and it is to this day, absolutely beautiful but in reality it is troubling to use, even with it's intended jailbreaks. It needs to be understood that this phone has served it's time for everyone and it's time to move on from it. I collect these and while they're awesome to mess with, they're really not applicable for everyday use.
I'm planning on getting an iphone 4s thru a bundle sale, as long as I can use youtube and messenger and connect thru wifi then I'm happy. Bonus plus if I can install some games lol, coz this is gonna be my first iphone ever.
Keep in mind this is supposed to be a real life scenario but being one of the last countries to still have 3G makes it unrealistic for it to be compared to other people in other countries using this iPhone as I am in Canada an absolutely so proud we didn’t shut down or 3G network yet but I know hundreds of people who live in other countries who don’t have 3G anymore and would never be able to use this device
Here in the US I can’t use mine as an activated phone anymore even if I wanted to, but I still kept the one my friend gave me just to have. Some apps still work with it updated to iOS 9, and I can still at least receive texts on it.
Which IOS are you using? I recognize by the UA-cam icon (old TV set style) that it is a very old version (not 9x - the last available for this model); maybe the apps in U.S.A. need a older O.S., as in Europe, most of the apps (even Whatsapp and similar) do not work anymore with less than IOS 10 (some need even a newer release).
i like that keyboard but current ios wont let me download it i have it on my nephews pixel but wish they let us use that key board again and i got the mini 13 i love this iphone form

I mean update it to 7.1.x (dont let it on 7.0.x) replace the battery and restore the phone and ur experience will be totally different.

my iPhone 4s uses iMessage, so I'd recommend checking you actually have it enabled, as it works fine! Don't have a sim card installed or anything

Twitter doesn’t work, but there is a workaround to make it work, same for UA-cam, you do need a jailbreak though. Btw iMessage does work for me
I have an SE, the older one and I really think it’s a similar size, but since it’s from 2017, it’s updated to the newest 15, so yes Snapchat works.

This was my absolute favourite ever phone. My first iphone I upgraded from Samsung Galaxy S2 think I used it for 3 years. Lasted well
i have an iphone 3gs and i put my sim card in it and the 3g works really well still, since 2g and 3g still work here in brazil

in turkey we still have 2g network and still usable.
