I would say the only voice better than James in metal is Ozzy
Even as a huge Metallica fan I agree with you.
Listen, I'm a massive fan of Black Sabbath's original works and Ozzy's entire career.
Dio is number 1 unquestionably.
Dio, Dickinson, Halford. Enough said. (Mic Drop)
Dio or Dickinson should've been #1
That would be Dickinson
Bruce or Dio should have been #1.
Ozzy made Iron man.
Things wrong with this:
Def lepard is not metal
Lemmy was just an honorable mention
Corey Taylor was an honorable mention
Bon Scott at number 10
at the beginning they say hard rock and heavy metal, technically ACDC isn't metal anyway.
In the early days of AC/DC they were recognized as hard rock because music wasn’t as heavy back then
Def leppard started out as a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band, at least until High and Dry.
Hard Rock, Heavy Metal same shit different package
Yeah, Corey Taylor shouldn't be on this list at all
Bruce is number 1. He is the most entertaning person EVER live! Running around everywhere, changing into a bunch of costumes each show, playing with all the band members, and getting the crowd involved as much as he can, easpecially with his signature "SCREAM FOR ME" line. #1 by far.
running around changing costumes sounds like a popstar to me. maybe he should put together a show with Madonna.

Lemmy the man who founded a sub-genre of music is an honorable mention?
Corey Taylor should have got a number considering his insane vocals, the stage presence, his crowd control, writing abilities and the success that came when he joined. I think Jonathan Davis of Korn should of had a mention at least for his weird stage presence, success of Korn and his consistently great melodies and Jason Butler of Letlive, purely for his stage presence, it's unmatchable.
I've seen Corey live and have been a fan of them since Wait and Bleed but M. Shadows is both a better vocalist and showman.
@@ej87291 Got to highly disagree, as good as Shadows is he's not half as good as Corey. Especially when he does those nasally vocals, screams aren't as good as Corey's even vol 3 screams. Just a far more interesting vocalist for me compared to Shadows.
@@thebaconflapsable to each their own. I value a singers consistency, M. Shadows sounded exactly like the albums the times I heard him live. Corey did not, it was very frustrating. Maybe it was just a bad day but he fell very short of what I was expecting.

James Hetfield before Dio are you drunk ??? Dio is one of the best ever frontman !!!!

Rita Lovett no ozzy is better than dio
@Rita Lovett sorry, but no. Dio is an amazing singe and front man to be sure. But in concert Ozzy commands the stage better than pretty much anyone not named Freddy Mercury. As for better singer, probably from a technical aspect, but Dio always sounded like Dio. Ozzy had the ability to sound extremely different in different songs, which is pretty hard to do.
@@Mercury-7 Are you out of your mind? Dio can sing circles around Ozzy. Don't get me wrong, Ozzy has good vocals, but come on. Dickenson has a better stage presence than both. Pure energy goes to Anselmo, not to mention his vocals are underrated.
ozzy led black sabbath is a million times better than dio led sabbath, thus, ozzy is better lol
Black Sabbath is known because of Ozzy that simple fact.. Ozzy has everything.. Dio was a good vocalist..but all round Ozzy is the solution..
Till Lindemann (Rammstein) has the perfect voice in my opinion. And that voice mixed with the German lyrics just sounds awesome

Most of these lists are based off of how popular the bands are instead of how impressive they actually were
I really can't believe how people have 2 ears and still can believe that Ozzy is better than Dio.
In my opinion. Dio's vocals are probably world class in terms of technique. And above Ozzy's. But personally even though technically superior to him Ozzy's songs are more interesting.
@@artemivanov5542 Ozzy is way more interesting than Dio.
Ozzy is a better frontman, Dio is the better singer
@@clifftheplanteddvd6330 this
I love Ozzy, but as a frontman Dickenson out sings him, Cooper out shows him, and Mustaine and Hetfeild out rock him.
I couldn't have said it better
yup you're right
+Chuck House I friendly disagree. Each of these remarkable artists is a compelling expression of what metal can be about. Hetfield bears the voice of hard work and willful effort. Mustaine is a douchebag narcissistic genius. Dickenson is all about youthfulness, beauty, honor, grace. And so on. But if I had to single out one vocalist as the epitome of metal, that'd of course be Ozzy. That's because, so early on, he expressed the spiritual side of metal. He revealed metal; he witnessed it.
+Chuck House Dickenson should have gotten more praise then the 2nd best although im not excluding ozzy in anyway its just that Dickenson's genius both on and off the set is likely unmatched by any modern musician
Yup.
Mr. Lemmy Kilmister is just an honourable mention... really...?
well obviously they don't care about history & cult stats ... they call ozzy the grandfather of heavy metal, i actually heard a lot of people, like Hetfield, call Lemmy the godfather of heavy metal
Seppe Hermans Even Ozzy said that Lemmy played heavy metal before him. I would put him no 1.
jurajumala Aika vitn monet välittää. Onko Megadeth paskaa? Onko Metallica paskaa? Kumpaakaan bändiä ei edes olis ilman Lemmya. Lemmy keksi metallin.

Nashid Mamoon just because they created Metal doesn’t mean they’re the best. I love Ozzy, he’s a great frontman, but Bruce Dickinson beats him. #UpTheIrons
You can't just say that. It's my opinion and it's your opinion there is no fact on which of them should be better
But it's fine both bands are great you just find Iron Maiden more better and I find Sabbath better
I see what you mean, my comment may of seemed a bit straight up because I didn’t have much time to write it. I think Sabbath are a better band in terms of Drumming and Guitar. And of course they created the genre, which makes Sabbath the best Metal band to me. But I feel that Bruce Dickinson has more action going on and of course, Ozzy is a lot older, and it’s harder, but for me Bruce is more exciting to watch. Ozzy is also a great frontman and also great to watch, don’t get me wrong! I just thought you might like to see it from a Bruce Dickinson fans’ perspective. Iron Maiden are definitely 2nd behind Sabbath and I respect your opinion and everyone’s opinion is equal :)
No problem dude. Both are amazing, metal on! \m/
Mad respect for all of these and live all of these picks... except for Dave
I’d rank Bruce ahead of Ozzy. Today, Bruce is the best. 40 years later he is literally better than any modern metal frontman.
I love Osbourne, but why do so many people consider him to be one of the best frontmen in Rock/Metal? I mean the man has and always had the stage presence of a geriatric ward patient, especially compared to people like Dickinson, Halford or Dio.

Even though Rammstein is Industrial metal you guys put Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth what are thrash metal bands. I'm kind of disappointed Kiss isn't on this list also. Even though I despise Kiss with a passion, I have to give credit Gene Simmons is a amazing front man
Agree completely. Just my personal opinion, but bands like Pantera are all too common. Unchanging, predictable music style, and vocals that sound almost identical when compared. Seems like 970% of all 80s metal bands sound annoyingly similar too, to me anyway.
But Till Lindemann? He may obviously be baritone, and yet he does have a surprising range. And without even regarding the vocals, the mere presence he has on stage is overwhelming. He and the rest of Rammstein truly perform, not just "play".

I'm at least pleased that Corey Taylor made honorable mentions. I however would have preferred 8th place at the most if her were to actually make a spot on the list. First off, because of his vocal ability. With the way Corey screams and sings, he should have ruined his voice long ago. Not to mention he's the leading songwriter for both Slipknot and his first band Stone Sour. I's imagine it's pretty difficult to keep up with two bands at once. Nice
Mustaine is the most tight front man of all metal.
Arthur Oechsler
mustaine>>>>>>>>>>>>hetfield
+Mateus Esteves As a frontmen? never.
Hetfield will always be better then Dave Dickstaine.
Til lindeman had to be here
And Klaus Meine. Germany!
Hansi Kursch?
Corey and Lemm in honorable list?Ight Imma head out
Only the fact, that Bruce isn't on the first place, makes this video wrong.
i'm only here for the beer he is not the best front man of all time. I can see an argument made for the best metal frontman but as far as all time Axl Rose, Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury I’d say are all better
@@lance411schroeder8 Yes, Axl is really good front man, but he for sure is not better.
the trooper exactly!!!!!!!
and the fact they cite his apparent lack of songwriting contributions as a reason for his placement is absurd.
Bon Scott should have been higher
damn right
bon should have been first
at least in top 5
Robert plant
Cody Pender Robert plant is incredible! but this was a list for hard rock and heavy metal :)
When will people find out Ozzy isn't that great, Jesus Christ.
He's not the best, but he was AMAZING back then and still is now!
He also has his insane stage performance and junkie persona :D
Ozzy > James Hetfield any damn day of the week. When in the hell has Hetfield done a duet with Lita Ford??? Hell, Lita Ford is a better singer than Hetfield!
REBELsst Hetfield is more of a guitarist than a singer though :)
i know that for years man.but i also know that you don't need to be the greatest to be good.frankly ozzy isn't among my favorites though i really like him,but you gotta admit,he's an eye and ear catching persona.that's the main reason why heavy metal and him will go hand in hand till the end of time.
I guess when he stops being awesome :P
Ian Gillan in the 1970's would push everyone of these down a notch
Except for DIO
Not Bruce.
10.Rob Halford (Judas Priest)
9. Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides)
8.James Hetfield (Metallica)
7. Brian Johnson (AC/DC)
6.Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath)

4.Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones)

1.Chester Bennington (Linkin Park)
"If he had a better songwriting, he would have ranked higher in our list" Dude, have you listened to Accident of Birth and The Chemical Wedding?
And what songs did that shit ozzy write? He has been baby sitted by his band mates.
