Momma-gen is actually just a Dragon wearing Protogen like armor. I believe I was one of the first to customize it further by adding Horns, fins and Shark Tail from NKD protogen model. I too was Early adopter of the avatar. My current project with it is to make Daddy-Gen
Yeah, I personally just left the species as a mystery to myself as this freedom of customization and the armor masking various features made it easy for me to see myself in it.
I think the mamagen looks so adorable and fluffy like if they were real they would've been so nice and friendly well to me all of GhostlyShark's models look friendly and nice but also badass at the same time :3
I think you might be the only one I know that does vrchat avatar reviews extensively, this was very informative and actually gives people an idea of what they're about to purchase. While at the same time will make others realize just how much work goes into these models. Awesome job!
I had seen somebody with this avatar model in VRchat once, modified to have yellow fur. It was only today did I learn that they got their avatar from somewhere else. Still awesome looking though.
i like this idea of reviewing avatar bases and explaining and exploring the different options surounding the models features and possibilities i like this format and would like to see more of various different avaters maby starting off with more popular ones and maby every now and then a miniseries with some less commonly known avatar bases. this has potential and im intrigued to see more if possible

After which I'll be covering a few avatars people have voted for within my Google Forms, and that I was able to purchase after a rather generous donation. This idea of reviewing 3D Avatars came after a laundry list of issues and concerns surrounding 3D Avatars piled up. Eventually making me realize nobody reviews or discusses 3D Avatars too much, which has led me to take up the mantle as I continue to learn what elements make an avatar important for people.

the faceplate working like it does on the model definately fits with the lore as it isnt actually a solid material. the larger size and melee style weapons they come equiped with by default hint at them being used for manning heavy machinery with the delicacy of an organic. maby something like an artilery unit strong and delicate enough to handle large amounts of heavy explosives and high grade ordianance. while still having something as a backup if they are overran.
One of my friends made me a character based around this but I’m not really too sure if I can keep it now because it says you got a pay to use the bottle and I’m kind of scared now
You can make a character based on the Mamagen, it's an open species. If this friend of yours is giving you the model, and you don't have one, you should let Ghostly know.
On the artists page about the mama-gen, it says it’s not able to be compatible with just the quest. So is there a way if I buy it I could make it so I could play with it on the oculus quest?
You can make it compatible with quest. You just gotta remove poiyami shades and the damage grey/damage grey alpha in the vrchat sdk. Change all shades to mobile standard lite and babam.
Or gonna lie...... I am a sucker for Mama-gen..... If I had the munz and time... And knowledge XP, I'd probably get one just for the hell of it, as well as maybe one of the other bases for my own OC
If the avatar isn’t Quest compatible, it can’t be seen by Quest users. Instead they’ll be replaced by a different avatar that the PC user chooses to be seen as.
Where can I find texture packs that changes the Avatar's armor like if I want the avatars armor to have like discord logo on it or half-life where can I find those textures?
That isn't really something I'm aware of. All I know is if you want to use the model and stuff you have to purchase it, and whatever you do with it is fine as long as proper credit is given.

I love the ghostly avatars, I just wish they were not so expensive to purchase especially considering the amount of people willing to get the avatar.

They can be found within the GhostlyShark discord server as free assets you can use. You just need to own the model to be able to use them.

@@thewolfmaster6840 Talked to the creator. Mamagen is as open of a species as the Protogens, which is to say they're open.
