This sends chills down my spine, remembering being a young kid of 10 or so. I wasn’t supposed to be up this late, but if I was quiet, my parents wouldn’t know. Watching late night movies (old mysteries or horror movies) or old sitcom reruns from the 50s or 60s (this was in the mid-70s, when I was experiencing it).
Yes i remember that sign off on television 📺 when I was a kid and me and Ma' watched it on KTVT television 📺 in Oak Cliff Dallas Texas and i thought we owe our freedom to our service Men and wemin for their service 🙏☮️🌎💖
i was always a night owl as a kid on.. and weekends would stay up late watching movies till the stations signed off with these little bits, sleep a few hours, then up early for Davy & Goliath 😁
HOLY COW!!!! You did not just say, "Davey and Goliath"?? I had a paper route as a kid. My Sunday mornings were spent, making two separate trips, (Sunday's were full of comics and coupons) and coming back home, and watching "Davey and Goliath" , "The Little Rascals", "Popeye and His Friends (including Super Chicken, Tom Slick, and George of the Jungle), and finally, "The Sunday Film Festival, starring Tom Hatten"!!!! GOOD TIMES!!
I’m not embarrassed to be patriotic, maybe you feel guilty by some of the stupid things the military politicians have done over the years. BTW, 20 years B-52, Spectre gunship first seat Vietnam.
I remember listening to this late at night at the end of local channel broadcasting before cable, streaming, etc. came out, depending on which channel. Sometimes they would play "You'll Never Walk Alone" by The Lettermen or just play the National Anthem
me as well we Had God in our schools said please and thank helped our friends and family GOD BLESS AMERICA i would place my hand on my heart while the National Anthem played
POLARIZATION is the key here, and taking full advantage of it is the route to victory. Everything your enemy does is WRONG. What would you think of a TV commercial that praised a competitor's product, do you think that would be a good idea or should those admen be fired? This is the same situation. I have nothing against the monogamous, but upholding their way of life as the exemplar is a clear example of the sort of cultural hegemony we're supposed to be against. It's okay to have feelings for anyone, that's a natural part of the human experience. But you had better make darned sure your primary partner is down with that before you start crossing those kinds of lines. Don't just spring it on them, communication and cooperation are essential for any good relationship.
And touched the face of GOD... of GOD. Not Trump or Biden, not Democrat or Republican, but GOD. And he's the only one who can help America now. GOD BLESS AMERICA
A different world! Glad I grew up back then.
Me too Tony, I’d go back in a hot second brother.
Yes!
same! moon landing, all of it

These are literally the scenes that started my love for and eventually career in the USAF!!
A couple seconds after this ended you would see the snow and hear the white noise when the station went off the air.
Lol i remember that view so long ago
Yes.
Yes sir 🤔 when I was a boy and me and Ma' watched KTVT television 📺 we'd see that and Pa' was on TDY in Saigon....

Yes even as a kid it was so moving
I truly remember seeing this as the TV signed off.
I miss the days when media would shut up for a few hours.
❤❤🤔 well said 💯
I remember it very well. My dad was an Air Force pilot. It reminds me of him. Amazing imagery.
Remember it like it was yesterday. Always loved seeing that T-38.
I remember seeing this when watching WPTT-22 Pittsburgh sign off in 1978-79.
I would watch this every night. Thanks for posting!
No matter the time I watch this it feels like two am.
I know EXACTLY how you feel!
This is a part of my youth!
I remember the Buffalo stations would play the Canadian National Anthem followed by the American. Kinda nice!
That was a classy gesture.
Gene Simmons beautiful story of him and his mother coming to America and seeing this TV sign-off, brought me here.
Did my UPT trainning in Vance AFB back in 1984....flew the old venerable twett and the formidable Talon the best days of my life....
Back when we weren’t made to feel ashamed for being patriotic and proud of American greatness
I’m not embarrassed to be patriotic, maybe you feel guilty by some of the stupid things the military politicians have done over the years. BTW, 20 years B-52, Spectre gunship first seat Vietnam.
T-38. The feeling of every pilot!
The 1960s version featured a Starfigther and the 1980s version featured an F-15 with the poem being read by William Conrad.
Beautiful plane👍

I believe they would play the National Anthem right after this, followed by the sign-off screen (a still radar pic), and/or “snow”.
Beautiful!
I remember seeing that like it was yesterday…
Brings back memories.
That's old..I remember it.
Just a better time
i WAS a pilot since 17 years old, but could not fly when college times. So i dreamed of going up again, on my bed, after seen this. In Puerto Rico.
I guess I did it for you and I my friend, I grew up in PR too and eventually became a T-38 instructor pilot in the Air Force. Un abrazo.
@@user-xz9hu4rd2v Ii came to USA and flew a lot as commercial. Retired now..
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth.....❤
Awesome.
Growing up hearing this as tv sign of brings back my childhood
And let us not forget the NBC sign off, with the peacock ;) Those where pretty good days.
We flexed our minds and muscles 🌏
I always liked the version with the F-104 Starfighter.
Remember this well. Special meaning to me since my father was WW2 USAAF
This is the one I remember , early 1980’s sign off OETA
*A 1970'S TV Station sign off*
401 people: *interesting*
…said the idiot in the room
This makes me tear up
me as well we Had God in our schools said please and thank helped our friends and family GOD BLESS AMERICA i would place my hand on my heart while the National Anthem played
It would be great to reset the clock back to 1980
There is a more recent version with William Conrad. Don't know who does the voiceover here.
Is this the original one? I remember it it but it seemed different to me, maybe they had more than one version? Anyway it brings me way back. 👍
I did that! What a nice airplane to fly!
That's because of airmen like me who kept those J-85s in good running order. Live long my brother in arms.❤
This is a much older version of that one fighter jet sign off from the 90s
There was a song version.
I remember President Ronald Reagan using this phrase after the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy.

Amen!
Not Allah either.
Freedom, regardless of what democrats say.
Democrats love freedom, regardless of what you think.
The memories this brings back... 🥹
"Put out my hand; and, touched the face...of God."
