I record everything through my Elgato Capture Card, the gameplay and party chat is tied together, but my commentary is recorded through a separate microphone which allows me to be be as loud as I want without distorting the audio. I then sync them together in the editing phase and balance the audio out so everything is the right volume. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
